Tour program

Day 1

Vlucht naar Johannesburg

Je reis begint 's avonds met je vlucht naar Zuid-Afrika.
After your arrival in Johannesburg, you will be met by our driver at the airport and taken to your hotel. You will have plenty of time to acclimatize. Close to the hotel is the popular "Nelson Mandela Square" with many shopping opportunities and restaurants. Depending on your arrival time, you can take an optional excursion to the Apartheid Museum. Our tour guide will get us in the mood for our trip over dinner. (A)
On our drive to Hazyview through the province of Mpumalanga, we get a first impression of the diversity of this fascinating country. The area around Witbank is home to the Ndebele tribe, whose members are known for their colorful clothing and beaded hoops. They paint their houses with strict geometric patterns. We make a stop to see the creatively designed houses for ourselves. Our lodge is located in the middle of nature not far from the Kruger National Park. 430 km (F)
Today we take a drive along the Panorama Route, one of South Africa's most popular travel destinations. The Panorama Route encompasses landscapes characterized by a spectacular canyon, mighty mountains, thundering waterfalls and tranquil lakes. The Blyde River Canyon is a gigantic, 26-kilometer-long gorge and one of South Africa's greatest natural wonders. The viewpoints Three Rondavels, Bourke's Luck Potholes and God's Window (weather permitting) offer breathtaking views. 200 km (F)
The wilderness is calling! We set off early in the morning for a visit to the Kruger National Park, whose diversity of plants and animals is unique. The whole day is dedicated to game viewing by coach and with a little luck we will spot the "Big Five": lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards and buffalos. You also have the option of taking part in a game drive in an open off-road vehicle. 150 km (F)
400 km (F)
This day is entirely at your disposal. Stroll along the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and experience the colorful mix of Europe and Africa. Cape Town has a lot to offer you! Optionally, you can take part in a full-day excursion to the Cape Peninsula, where we drive along the Atlantic coast via the unique Chapman's Peak Drive to the Cape of Good Hope. On the way back we visit the cute penguins on Boulders Beach. 170 km (F)
Wilderness is located directly on the Indian Ocean and is known for its long sandy beaches. You have the day at your leisure and can explore the town and its surroundings. Alternatively, you can take part in an optional excursion to the Little Karoo. We first pass Oudtshoorn, the main town in the semi-desert, and then reach the famous Cango Caves. On an ostrich farm we can learn interesting facts about the ostrich and enjoy our lunch. We then drive back to Wilderness. 200 km (F)
In the morning, you have the option of taking part in an excursion to the enchanting Featherbed Nature Reserve. We cross over by boat and explore the untouched paradise on the Western Heads of Knysna and enjoy the fantastic view over the lagoon. We experience nature up close on the approx. 2 km long hiking trail with a local guide. If you don't want to hike, you can take the tractor back. We enjoy our lunch in a relaxed atmosphere and then take the ferry back to the mainland. You can use the rest of the day for your own explorations. 100 km (F)
Our journey today takes us along the longest wine route in the world back to Cape Town. The picturesque Route 62 and Route 60 with idyllic vineyards, charming small towns such as Montagu and Tulbagh and spectacular mountain landscapes are considered the most beautiful road trip routes. We make a stop in Robertson and get an insight into the variety of flavors of South African wines during a wine tasting. We also have the opportunity to sample local produce at a farm stall. 500 km (F)
In the morning, we take a city tour of Cape Town. In the colorful Malay district of Bo-Kaap, we sample local delicacies such as samosas and vetkoek. We then take a stroll through the Company's Garden. In addition to mighty trees and flower gardens, there are numerous historical buildings and museums on this site, including the parliament building and the government guest house "Tuinhuis". Then it's time to say goodbye. You will be taken to the airport and start your journey home. (F)
Arrival in the morning and individual journey home. Flight schedule, hotel and program are subject to change. (F=breakfast, A= dinner)
