Rijden van San José naar het Tenorio National Park is een avontuur waarin het gemak van de moderne tijd naadloos samengaat met de rauwe schoonheid van de wildernis van Costa Rica. De reis duurt ongeveer een uur en voert je door afwisselende en pittoreske landschappen. Vanuit de bruisende hoofdstad word je al snel omringd door groene heuvels. Terwijl je naar het noorden rijdt, slingeren de wegen door schilderachtige dorpjes, landbouwvelden en tropische bossen, met adembenemende uitzichten op bergen en valleien. Als je het Tenorio National Park nadert, wordt de vegetatie dichter en vult de lucht zich met de frisheid van de jungle. Deze route is niet alleen een lust voor het oog, maar bereidt je ook voor op het natuurwonder dat je te wachten staat in het park, dat bekend staat om de prachtige Rio Celeste en indrukwekkende watervallen.
Zelf rijden van San José naar Tenorio gebied
We beginnen met een wandeling door een secundair bos dat een goede plek is om insecten en verschillende vogels te spotten. Tijdens de tweede helft van de wandeling zullen we genieten van een primair bos waar het mogelijk is om de voetafdrukken van de tapir en andere dieren te ontdekken. Het pad is in goede staat maar kan een beetje modderig zijn in het regenseizoen. De iconische waterval is de eerste belangrijke stop tijdens de wandeling. Deze plek is geweldig en je kunt de waterval van dichtbij zien.
Later kunnen we de drie verschillende kraters van de vulkaan Tenorio bekijken. Vervolgens vind je de "Blue Lagoon", een geweldige plek om foto's te maken. Na de lagune komen we de "borbollones" tegen. Dit is waar de vulkanische zwavelgassen aan het aardoppervlak ontsnappen. En tot slot, voordat we teruggaan, zullen we getuige zijn van "Teñideros", waar twee rivieren samenkomen en de magische chemische reactie van transparant water dat direct blauw wordt voor onze ogen plaatsvindt. Dit unieke natuurverschijnsel in Costa Rica mag je niet missen.
Lunch inbegrepen
Boca Tapada Costa Rica ligt in de noordelijke laaglanden vlakbij de monding van de San Carlos rivier.
Boca Tapada is een van de weinige overgebleven broedplaatsen van de bedreigde Great Green Macaw. Een van de nieuwste toevoegingen aan het Boca Tapada gebied is het Maquenque Eco Preserve, dat als missie heeft het leefgebied van de Great Green Macaw te beschermen, evenals dat van andere soorten waarvan de habitat afhankelijk is van de wetlands rond Boca Tapada.
Nachtwandeling
Kom en beleef een unieke ervaring vanuit een ander gezichtspunt. Tijdens deze activiteit bezoek je de tuinen en het bos van het hotel, waar je kunt leven en genieten van het nachtleven van sommige dieren zoals alligators, kikkers, nachtvogels, slangen en spinnen. Je ervaart ook de rust en de geluiden die de natuur ons geeft.
De natuurgids geeft je informatie over de flora en fauna in het gebied.
Geniet van de rust van het regenwoud als je per raft naar de Tres Amigos rivier reist. Hier zie je de rijkdom aan flora en fauna en kun je exotische dieren ontdekken zoals krokodillen, schildpadden, leguanen, apen, watervogels en nog veel meer.
Tijdens deze tocht legt de natuurgids uit hoe je moet peddelen en wat de veiligheidsvoorschriften zijn. Daarnaast geeft hij je interessante informatie over de regio en de diersoorten die je hebt gezien.
Sarapiqui ligt in de provincie Heredia en is populair geworden vanwege de rijke biodiversiteit en de avontuurlijke activiteiten die je hier kunt doen. Omgeven door weelderige groene bossen en bananen- en cacaoplantages, was Sarapiqui ooit gewoon een klein havenstadje. Het ligt op de kruising van de Puerto Viejo rivier en de Sarapiqui rivier.
Kookles
De beste manier om te genieten van een lunch, diner of gewoon koffietijd is door de hand van een Costa Ricaanse familie.
Bij deze activiteit word je geleid door een lid van de familie die je laat deelnemen aan de bereiding van het recept en vervolgens een smakelijk gerecht voorschotelt, maar ook leer je over het groei- en oogstproces van de producten.
Chocolade Tour
De cacaoboom komt oorspronkelijk uit Meso-Amerika en heeft een rijke en bijzondere geschiedenis. De tour omvat een wandeling met gids over de hangbrug van Tirimbina naar een oude cacaoplantage en door een bebost gedeelte waar je kunt zien hoe het product zich daar oorspronkelijk ontwikkelde. Een gids onthult de geheimen van het omzetten van cacaovruchten in chocolade. Je ziet uit de eerste hand hoe chocolade wordt gemaakt en krijgt zelfs de kans om je smaakpapillen te verwennen met echte biologische chocolade uit het regenwoud!
Paardrijden
De tour begint bij de stallen, waar je de benodigde uitrusting krijgt: een helm, legging en regenponcho. Je krijgt een paard toegewezen dat past bij jouw ervaring en vaardigheid, en je leert de basisbeginselen van het omgaan met paarden en veiligheid. Als je er klaar voor bent, bestijg je het paard en oefen je met de omgang in het koraal.
Trek er met je paard op uit over paden die door weilanden, jungle en rivieren lopen. Je hebt een unieke kans om het prachtige landschap van Costa Rica te zien en misschien zie je wel vogels en andere wilde dieren. Onderweg krijg je vers fruit en water.
Elke rit wordt begeleid door een tweetalige gids en wrangler. Dit zorgt ervoor dat je tocht niet alleen informatief, maar ook veilig is. Er zijn zowel 2-uur als 4-uur durende tochten beschikbaar.
Turrialba ligt in het landelijke deel van de provincie Cartago en combineert een charmant stadje met verbazingwekkende natuurgebieden zoals de vulkaan Turrialba, die momenteel actief is en regelmatig as gooit. De Pacuare en Reventazon rivier, perfect voor wildwatervaren. De Pacuare rivier wordt beschouwd als een toprivier voor deze sport. Ook ligt de belangrijkste prekoloniale archeologische vindplaats, Guayabo, in Turrialba, Costa Rica's enige precolumbiaanse vindplaats die toegankelijk is voor het publiek, deze ruïnes geven een fantastisch inzicht.
Turrialba is een agrarisch stadje. Omdat ze een zeer interessant klimaat hebben in de buurt van het Caribisch gebied in de Centrale Vallei, zie je hier velden met sla, koriander, suikerriet, koffie en andere producten. Maar een van de beroemdste producten van Turrialba is hun kaas.
Verscholen in de schaduw van de vulkaan Turrialba, als een mythische "verloren stad" uit een sprookjesboek, ligt een mysterieuze oude stad waar meer dan 10.000 mensen woonden die op mysterieuze wijze leken te zijn verdwenen vlak voor de komst van de Spanjaarden in de 16e eeuw. Dit gebied, dat bekend staat als Guayabo National Monument, is Costa Rica's belangrijkste archeologische vindplaats en het enige Nationale Monument met een naam.
Een gids zal je door het park leiden terwijl hij uitleg geeft over de bevindingen van de opgravingen en de geschiedenis van de mensen die er ooit woonden. Je gids leidt je rond door dit oude gebied, dat geografisch gezien het perfecte middelpunt van heel Amerika is. Ervaar deze oude ruïnes in Costa Rica, die een wereld vol mysteries en onbeantwoorde vragen herbergen!
Het Los Santos gebied ligt in de Talamanca bergketen in de hooglanden van zuid-centraal Costa Rica. Het Los Santos gebied is om verschillende redenen heel bijzonder, waarvan een van de belangrijkste de wilde dieren zijn die hier leven, vooral de vogels. De hoge ligging van het gebied trekt spechten, grasmussen, valken, uilen en quetzals aan. De andere reden is de hoge kwaliteit koffie die in dit land wordt geproduceerd. Deze koffie wordt beschouwd als een van de beste ter wereld en je kunt ervan genieten als je een koffieplantage en een plaatselijke koffieshop bezoekt.
Het Los Santos gebied is de thuisbasis van het Los Quetzales National Park, een perfecte plek om te wandelen en de natuur te bewonderen, fervente wandelaars worden beloond met prachtige uitzichten.
In San Gerardo de Dota, Savegre, heb je de beste kans om deze spectaculaire Quetzal te vinden en te observeren. De Azteken geloofden dat de Resplendent Quetzal de vertegenwoordiging was van Quetzalcóatl, hun oppergod.
Een van de natuurgidsen neemt je mee naar de plekken waar de quetzal zich voedt met aguacatillos, hun favoriete fruit. Je hoeft maar een paar seconden naar de quetzal te kijken om te begrijpen waarom hij wordt beschouwd als de mooiste soort van het Amerikaanse continent.
Gelegen in het zuiden van de Stille Oceaan van Costa Rica. Uvita is een klein stadje, hier vind je kleine winkeltjes en souvenirs. Het nachtleven is niet groot in Uvita, maar er zijn wel verschillende bar- en restaurantmogelijkheden. De stad zelf ligt verspreid en strekt zich uit van het strandgebied tot in de bergen.
Het is de hoofdingang van het ongelooflijk mooie Marino Ballena National Park dat zowel de kustlijn als de zee beschermt. Het park is vooral bekend vanwege de bultrugwalvissen die hier jaarlijks naartoe trekken om hun jongen groot te brengen. De achtergrond van het gebied is net zo spectaculair met torenhoge weelderige groene bergen gehuld in wolken die snel afdalen naar zeeniveau. Marino Ballena Nationaal Park is vooral een zeepark. Het werd opgericht om de dolfijnen en walvissen te beschermen, die je het grootste deel van het jaar kunt zien, met uitzondering van mei en juni. De beste maanden zijn augustus, september en oktober, gevolgd door januari en februari.
Het zeekajakavontuur begint bij eb als de golven naar één kant van de Walvisstaart gaan waar je gaat kajakken. Het peddelen naar dit punt duurt tussen de 30 en 45 minuten. Het snorkelgedeelte van de tour duurt tussen de 45 minuten en 1,5 uur en stelt je in staat om een verscheidenheid aan vissen en koraalsoorten te zien.
Tijdens het snorkelen kun je veel zeedieren zien. Je gaat verder met de kajak naar een klein mangrovebos in Marino Ballena National Park waar het mogelijk is om zeevogels, toekans en enkele kleine reptielen te zien.
Zelf rijden van Uvita naar San José
Aan alle goede dingen komt een eind. Zeg vaarwel tegen het prachtige Costa Rica en zijn mensen! Een chauffeur haalt je op bij het hotel en brengt je rechtstreeks naar het Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO). In Costa Rica moet je 3 uur voor de vertrektijd op het vliegveld zijn.

BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Read this agreement thoroughly and carefully before booking a trip with us.
Agreement: The terms and conditions set forth in this agreement constitute the entire understanding and agreement between you the trip “Participant” and Green World Adventures “the Tour Operator” with respect to any and all bookings, tours or transactions made with Green World Adventures.
By submitting a booking form and signing this agreement, you accept all of the terms in this agreement and direct us to perform services on your behalf.
Reservations: You may reserve space on a tour by email request. A booking is not final until you receive a final confirmation from us.
Deposits and Final Payment: A deposit of 25% per person is required at the time of booking. Final payment is due 45 days prior to departure. If your booking is made within 45 days of departure, the entire tour cost must be paid when we confirm the trip with you.
Payments may be made by credit card (you have to complete an authorization form, send us a copy of your credit card and a copy of your passport), wire transfer or paypal. If you pay your deposit by wire, we cannot confirm your reservation until your payment has cleared the bank. For credit card payments we accept Visa or Master Card.
Cancellations by You and Penalties: To cancel your booking, you must submit your request to us in writing. Cancellation fees or penalties will be applied per person according to the following schedule, based on the date we receive your written notification:
• 1 to 30 days prior to your starting date, 100% of penalty
• 31 to 59 days prior to your starting date, 50% of penalty
• 60 days or more prior to your starting date, 20% of penalty
No refunds will be provided for any unused portion of a tour once the tour begins, including if you leave a tour for any reason or have to be removed from a tour. There are no exceptions to this cancellation and refund policy, including for reasons related to weather, terrorism, civil strife, personal, family or medical emergencies or any other circumstances beyond our control. For this reason, we strongly encourage you to purchase trip cancellation and interruption insurance.
Changes by You: If you change your tour dates or alter your itinerary after we confirm your tour, a change fee will be imposed. The type and scope of change dictates the amount of the change fee. Our outside suppliers, including hotels, often impose additional fees or penalties for changes and cancellations. These are included in the change fee and can be substantial.
Cancellations or Changes by Us and Flexibility: We reserve the right to cancel, alter or modify any tour without prior notice for the safety and/or comfort of clients. You acknowledge that the amenities, accommodations, transportation, route, schedule, and itinerary may change without prior notice due to local circumstances or events, which may include mechanical breakdown, flight cancellations, illness, strikes, political disputes, weather, border crossing problems, and other unforeseeable factors. If, prior to departure, we make a significant change because of a problem with a supplier (e.g., bankruptcy), we will, as soon as reasonably possible, notify you of available alternatives.
Any changes may require a supplemental payment from you or result in a refund less any cancellation fees and nonrefundable deposits. If we cancel, which is rare, a check for a full refund will be issued to you less any airline ticket cancellation fees and nonrefundable deposits advanced to local suppliers. This refund will constitute full settlement of claims you may have arising out of our cancellation. No refunds under this paragraph will be provided due to cancellations or changes due to Force Majeure.
Price Adjustments: The quoted tour price is based on tariffs, fees, airfares, and costs in effect at the time you sign this agreement. We reserve the right to increase the quoted price after booking if inflation, costs of fuel, labor or materials, airfares, supplier costs, currency exchange rates, tariffs, government fees, and admission charges change. You agree to and will pay for any price increase.
Credit Card Authorization for Post-Booking Charges: You authorize Green World Adventures to charge your credit card number for any change fees, price increases, or supplemental payments that you incur post-booking. If you prefer a different payment method, you must notify us in writing at the time of booking. Remember if you use this payment method you have to complete an authorization form, send us a clear copy of your credit card and a copy of your passport.
No Refunds for Personal Expenses: You will not be reimbursed for any personal expenses such as airfare, hotel or other travel expenses due to changes in itineraries or tour cancellations.
Responsibility: Green World Adventures acts only as an intermediary for the various independent suppliers that provide lodging, meals, transportation, sightseeing, activities or other goods and services connected with your tour (“Supplier” or “Suppliers”). You acknowledge that you are aware and clearly understand that these Suppliers are independent contractors, are not managed by Green World Adventures, and are not agents or employees of Green World Adventures. A Supplier’s services are subject to the Supplier’s own terms and conditions and the local laws and regulations of the relevant country. Green World Adventures will not provide any refund for a Supplier’s delay, cancellation, overbooking, or strike.
Force Majeure: Green World Adventures will not be deemed in breach of this agreement or otherwise liable to you, by reason of delay in performance or nonperformance of any of its obligations under this agreement to the extent that any such delay or nonperformance is due to any Force Majeure. “Force Majeure” means any circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Green World Adventures, including without limitation acts of God, terrorist activities, insurrection, explosion, flood, tempest, forceful wind, fire or accident, war or threat of war declared or undeclared, sabotage, civil disturbance, labor strikes, requisition, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, weather conditions, and unforeseen circumstances.
If Green World Adventures and/or any of its Suppliers are affected by Force Majeure, they shall be entitled to, and may in their sole discretion, vary or cancel any itinerary or arrangement in relation to the tour. Regarding civil unrest, once Green World Adventures has investigated the prevailing situation, as it deems fit, it shall remain in Green World Adventures sole and absolute discretion whether to proceed with the tour.
Travel Insurance: The tour price does not include travel insurance. We strongly recommend that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance, covering trip interruption and cancellation, baggage, medical, accident/life, evacuation, repatriation and other expenses which might arise as a result of loss, damage, injury, delay or inconvenience occurring to you. You agree to assume all costs of medical care and transportation. As such, we require that you purchase travel-related insurance if your current policy does not cover you during your tour. We may require proof of coverage.
Pre-Departure Documentation: It is important that you carefully read all trip-related documents that you receive from us as soon as you receive them. It is your responsibility to contact us if any information is incorrect. We cannot accept any liability if you do not notify us of any inaccuracies within 6 days of your receipt of those documents. This agreement, a waiver of liability and assumption of risk agreement and, if required, a medical statement or certification must be signed and submitted by you. If you fail to submit this and other necessary documentation prior to departure, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled by you and impose the cancellation fees described in this agreement.
Passports and Visas: You are responsible for ensuring that all necessary travel documents are valid and effective and in your possession for the entire tour. Passports are required for all foreign citizens traveling abroad and should be valid for at least 6 months after your date of return. We suggest you apply for or renew a passport early. Other required documents may include visas, permits, and vaccination certificates. You assume complete and full responsibility for checking and verifying any and all passport, visa, vaccination, or other entry requirements. You are also solely responsible for any adverse consequences resulting from incomplete or defective documentation. While we may provide information or advice on matters such as visas, vaccinations, climate, clothing, baggage, and special equipment in good faith as a courtesy to you, we are not responsible for any errors or omissions as to the information provided.
Health Requirements and Medical Care: Our tours are physically active, with varying levels of demands and fitness requirements depending on the specific itinerary. By signing this agreement, you represent that you do not have any physical or other conditions that would create a hazard for you or other Participants or affect other people’s enjoyment of the tour. If you are over the age of 65 and have a pre-existing medical condition, you must complete our medical statement. If you do not return the completed statement to us by the specified deadline, we reserve the right to prohibit you from departing on the tour and to charge a cancellation fee. If you have a physical condition, dietary restrictions, or other conditions that will require special attention during the tour, you must inform us in writing when the booking is made. We may require a medical certificate if you have a special condition. We reserve the right in our sole discretion to accept, decline, or remove anyone from a tour (at departure or during the tour) who we judge to be incapable of meeting the tour’s physical demands.
Green World Adventures assumes no responsibility for any medical care provided to you. You agree to assume all costs of medical care and related transportation that are provided to you during the tour.
Complaint Procedure: If you have a complaint during your tour, you must promptly notify Green World Adventures or your tour leader (in case you are on a guided tour) of the problem so that they can attempt to remedy the situation. Failure to do so while you are on the tour will extinguish or reduce your ability to claim compensation from Green World Adventures. Further, if you attempt to address the problem on your own without using this notice procedure, you assume responsibility for any added costs you may incur and forfeit any potential refunds.
If you are not satisfied after using this notice procedure, you must submit your complaint in writing to Green World Adventures within 7 days of the tour’s end date. Green World Adventures will not accept any liability for claims received after this period.
Tour Start Date: It is your responsibility to be ready to embark on the tour as specified in the itinerary. Green World Adventures is not responsible for any losses due to cancelled or missed flights, changed flight itineraries, late arrivals, or early departures.
Compliance with Local Laws and Tour Etiquette: You must strictly comply with all local laws, respect local customs and culture, accurately assess your abilities, respect other trip members’ privacy, and follow the suggestions and advice of any assigned guide. The decision of the local guide or local supplier is final on all matters that may threaten the safety or interfere with the well-being of others. During the tour, Green World Adventures or the local guide/supplier has the right in its sole discretion to remove anyone a) who it judges to be incapable of meeting the demands and requirements of participating in the tour activities; or b) who it determines to detract from others’ enjoyment of the tour.
Images Release: You agree that Green World Adventures may use, re-use and reproduce any images, photos or videos that you send to us, or that are taken by our guides and/or other travelers of you individually or in a group, in any medium, including but not limited to print, electronic media, or Internet, free of charge and without your right to inspection, for promoting and publicizing our travel products and services worldwide. If you do not want us to use any images of you that are taken by us or other participants during the tour, you must inform us or your tour leader in writing at the start of the tour.
Limitation of Remedies: You agree that the sole remedy for any default by Green World Adventures arising under this agreement shall be the return of the paid tour cost. To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, Green World Adventures shall not be liable for any special, consequential, indirect, incidental or other damages arising out of or in any way connected to this agreement, including lost profits, whether such damages arise in contract, negligence, tort, under statute, in equity, at law, or otherwise, even if Green World Adventures has been advised of the possibility of such damages. You expressly waive any right you may have to recover such damages.
Severability: If any provision of this agreement shall be unenforceable or invalid under any applicable law, such unenforceability or invalidity shall not render the agreement unenforceable or invalid as a whole. Such unenforceable provision will be replaced with one that is valid and enforceable and which achieves, to the extent possible, the original objectives and intent of the original provision.
Successors and Assigns: This agreement shall inure to the benefit of and be binding upon Green World Adventures and the Participant and their respective heirs, legal personal representatives, successors and assigns.
Updating of Terms and Conditions: Green World Adventures reserves the right to update and/or alter these terms and conditions at any time. It is your responsibility to be familiar with these terms and conditions. The latest terms and conditions can be found on the Green World Adventures website www.gwacr.com .
Applicable Law and Choice of Forum: Any dispute arising out of this agreement, including all tort claims – whether such dispute arises in contract or in tort or otherwise – shall be litigated and determined, if at all, only before a court of competent jurisdiction in Cartago, Costa Rica (and in no other).
Merger: This Agreement is the final, complete and exclusive statement of the parties’ agreement on the matters contained in this agreement. It supersedes all previous negotiations and agreements.
