Van kleine seizoensgebonden nederzettingen in de bovenste valleien die de fascinerende Balti-cultuur tonen, tot de oversteek van de met sneeuw bedekte Thallay La. Deze gemakkelijke en avontuurlijke tocht verbindt de twee koninkrijken op het dak van de wereld, namelijk Khaplu met Shigar. De tocht is opmerkelijk gevarieerd wat betreft het natuurlijke landschap, variërend van het zand van de Indus vallei, via de "Alpine" lagere vallei, tot de hoge sneeuw van de spectaculaire pieken rond de Thallay La.
De Thalay vallei is ook beroemd om zijn unieke flora. De belangrijkste alpine bloemen van de regio zijn: Aster, Potentilla's, Delphinium, Narcis, Madeliefje, Peterselie/Rosemarie, Mosterd, Kamperfoelie, Anjer, Gentiaan, Geranium, Munt, Erwten, Lelie, Teunisbloem, Klaproos, Weegbree, Zeelavendel, Boterbloemen, Roos. De bomen zijn Fir, Birch, Cedar, Juniper, Spruce, Chilgoza, Chir, Blue, Pine, Deodar, Willow, Oak, en Sycamore. Veel voorkomende struiken en heesters zijn Phaedra, Roos, Tamarisk, Viburnum en Artemisia.

Fly from Islamabad airport to Skardu (1-hour scenic flight). Free day for sightseeing and necessary purchasing from Skardu Bazar. We will visit Manthal Rock Budha, Kharpocho fort, Organic village and Skardu Bazar. Or In case of flight cancellation due to weather, drive from Islamabad via Karakoram Highway with short stops at various touristic spots.

Drive to Khaplu, passing through small villages of Ghanche district; en route, we will have short stops at the meeting point of Shayok & Indus Rivers, Thorgo Pari and visit Yugo. Enjoy traditional lunch at Yugo and a cultural walk in the streets of Yugo to witness village life and meet locals. Later in the late afternoon, we drive to Khaplu and check into the hotel with leisure time to visit the Khaplu fort museum and organic garden.

De groep zal tijdens de vakantie drie nachten doorbrengen in Islamabad in een hotel van uitstekende kwaliteit. De groep zal ook twee nachten doorbrengen in een toeristenklasse hotel in Skardu en één nacht in Khaplu. De accommodatie in elk van deze hotels is voor twee personen met en-suite faciliteiten. Tijdens de trektocht wordt vier keer gekampeerd in een comfortabele tweepersoonstent. Als je alleen reist, word je gekoppeld aan een andere alleenreizende klant van hetzelfde geslacht. Het is mogelijk om tegen een meerprijs een eenpersoonstent te huren tijdens de trektocht. Extra hotelovernachtingen in Islamabad zijn ook mogelijk. In geval van annulering van de vlucht wordt de groep onderweg ondergebracht in een toeristenklasse hotel (de best beschikbare optie). De kamers zijn op basis van twin sharing, en de eenpersoonskamer is tegen meerprijs beschikbaar.
