Itinerary

Dit avontuur in kleine groep combineert de schoonheid van de Binnen-Hebriden van Schotland met whisky, geschiedenis en boeiende ontmoetingen met wilde dieren. Overnacht in het kleurrijke stadje Tobermory op Isle of Mull, wandel langs de ongerepte zandstranden op Isle of Iona en proef heerlijke zeevruchten in Oban. Als speciale traktatie ga je mee op een papegaaiduiventocht per boot om de beroemde Fingal's Cave en het onbewoonde eiland Staffa te verkennen, waar een bruisende kolonie van deze schattige, kleurrijke vogels huist. En natuurlijk is geen rondreis door Schotland compleet zonder een bezoek aan iconische Highland juweeltjes zoals Glen Coe en Loch Lomond, waardoor dit een onvergetelijke ervaring is voor elke natuurliefhebber.

Dag 1

Edinburgh naar Tobermory

We verlaten Edinburgh en rijden westwaarts langs de historische stad Stirling, op weg naar het schilderachtige Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. We stoppen om het charmante dorpje Luss te verkennen en genieten van het spectaculaire uitzicht op de Arrochar Alps vanaf het uitkijkpunt Rest and Be Thankful. Geniet van wat vrije tijd in het pittoreske stadje Inveraray aan het loch, waar je kunt genieten van lokale gerechten voor de lunch. Na een bezoek aan het historische Dunadd Fort gaan we verder naar Oban om de veerboot naar Isle of Mull te nemen. De volgende twee nachten brengen we door in het kleurrijke vissersplaatsje Tobermory.

Dag 2

Eiland van Mull

Today we meet the puffins! After breakfast, we embark on one of Scotland's most immersive puffin tours, with a wildlife boat trip to the Treshnish Isles and Staffa. Sit back, relax, and take in panoramic sea views of this idyllic group of islands, bustling with seabirds and, depending on the season, even seals. You might also spot dolphins, eagles, or whales, with insightful commentary from an experienced wildlife guide. As we sail to Staffa, hear stories of giants and geology and get up close to the striking Fingal’s Cave. Once we land on Staffa, we have ample time to explore the island and observe the enchanting little puffins in their natural habitat.

Dag 3

Tobermory naar Oban

Vandaag reizen we over het bergachtige Isle of Mull naar het spirituele Isle of Iona, vaak het heilige hart van Schotland genoemd. Je hebt ruimschoots de tijd om te lunchen, de historische Iona Abbey te bezoeken en een wandeling te maken langs de witte zandstranden van het eiland. Daarna nemen we de veerboot terug naar Oban, waar je verse zeevruchten kunt proeven en tot rust kunt komen met een drankje in een plaatselijke pub op onze laatste avond. (Overnachting: Oban)

Dag 4

Oban naar Edinburgh

We vertrekken uit Oban en reizen door het dramatische landschap van Glen Coe, de woeste uitgestrektheid van Rannoch Moor en de historische gebieden die in verband worden gebracht met de Schotse volksheld Rob Roy. Als klap op de vuurpijl brengen we een toast uit bij een whiskystokerij en leren we alles over de single malt productie. Na vier fantastische dagen keren we 's avonds terug naar Edinburgh.
