De gebouwen in Chefchaouen staan bekend om hun helderblauwe uiterlijk, wat de stad een frisse en uitnodigende uitstraling geeft.
De stad biedt verschillende intrigerende bezienswaardigheden om te bezoeken, waaronder de historische Joodse Mellah, de 14e-eeuwse Kasbah, de prachtige Ras El-maa watervallen en de Spaanse moskee op een heuveltop bij de Medina.

Vandaag beginnen we aan een ontdekkingsreis naar Fes, de meest historisch en cultureel rijke stad van Marokko. Vanuit Chefchaouen reizen we door het schilderachtige Rifgebergte naar de Romeinse ruïnes van Volubilis, een archeologische vindplaats uit de 3e eeuw voor Christus.
Onze volgende stop is de witgekalkte stad Moulay Idriss, een van Marokko's belangrijkste bedevaartsoorden. Na ons bezoek gaan we verder naar Meknes, dat op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat en de meest versterkte keizerlijke stad van Marokko is. Tijdens ons bezoek aan Meknes hebben we de gelegenheid om een aantal van de iconische monumenten te bekijken, waaronder de Bab Mansour poort, de Qara gevangenis, het L'hdim plein en Sehrij E'ssouani.

Today, we will embark on a full-day walking tour of the historic city of Fes with an experienced local guide. As we explore the ancient streets of Fes, it will feel like stepping back in time to a world of traditional charm and heritage.
We will visit the famous Blue Gate, known as Bab Bou Jloud, which serves as the entrance to the Medina from the west. Our next stop will be the Quaraouine Mosque, one of the oldest universities in the world. After that, we will visit the Madrassa Bou Inania, one of Fez's finest theological colleges.
We will then stroll through the Medina Souks, the oldest marketplace in Fez, where you can find unique handcrafted goods and souvenirs. Our tour will continue to the Tanneries, one of Fez's most iconic sights, where you can witness the traditional process of producing high-quality leather that has remained unchanged since medieval times.
Our guide will be there to assist you should you wish to see or discover anything else in the city. At the end of the tour, our guide will escort you back to your Riad in Fes.
Early in the morning, we'll meet you at your Riad and set off for the Merzouga Desert. Our first stop will be in Ifrane, known as the "Switzerland of Morocco" due to its clean, modern, and well-ordered appearance. A few kilometers from the city is the cedar tree forest of Azrou, home to the Barbary apes, a type of Macaque. We'll take some time to observe these fascinating creatures before we hit the road again.
Our next stop is Midelt, the "country of apples," where we'll have lunch before heading towards the Atlas Mountains, following the Ziz Valley. We'll arrive at the city of Er-Rachidia, which is the gateway to the desert and southern Morocco.
We'll continue driving south, passing through the Ziz Oasis, filled with palm groves and Berber villages along the way, until we reach Erfoud. This city is famous for its fossils that date back hundreds of millions of years, and it's the last stop before our final destination, the Merzouga Desert.
When we reach the Erg Chebbi dunes, we'll take a pit stop at our hotel in the dune line and then start your camel ride adventure to our camp within the dunes. The night will be spent in a desert camp, where we'll enjoy a traditional local music performance around the fire.

Your next stop is Tinghir, a former center for trading caravans, where you will have the opportunity to visit the awe-inspiring Todgha Gorges, a 300-meter deep canyon that was formed by the fusion of limestone rock formations and water from the Anti-Atlas Mountains.
Continue your journey through the road of thousands of Kasbahs and reach the picturesque countryside of Dades,famously referred to as the "land of figs." Marvel at the diverse and dramatic landscapes of the Dades Valley as you traverse through.

After a nourishing breakfast, we will embark on the next leg of our tour and make our way towards the vibrant city of Marrakech. During the journey, we will traverse through the picturesque Imgoun Valley, known for its abundant production of roses, and the Skoura Oases, where we will pause to visit theAmridil Kasbahs. These kasbahs are renowned for their historic significance and authenticity, having been built in the 17th century.
Upon reaching Ouarzazate, often referred to as the "Cinema Capital of Morocco," we will visit the Touaririrt Kasbah, a popular tourist attraction in the city. We will then continue a short distance to the Ait-Benhaddou Kasbahs, a UNESCO-protected village made of red mud brick and dating back to the 11th century when it served as a major stopover for caravans. This village is widely recognized for its use as a film set in popular productions such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
After admiring the cultural and historical significance of these sites, we will cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains, taking in the panoramic views from the Tizi N'Tichka pass, which stands at an elevation of 2260m. Upon arrival in Marrakech, we will drop you off at your accommodation within the city's ancient old quarter.
