Welkom bij Medellin & Mandalaire Agroecologische Boerderij

Welkom in Medellín, het hart van Antioquia, waar moderniteit en bergcharme elkaar ontmoeten, en ontdek een stad die bruist van de levendige cultuur, veerkracht en warmte.

Welkom in Medellín!

Je wordt opgehaald van het vliegveld en naar je hotel gebracht. Afhankelijk van je aankomsttijd kunnen we een extra tour voor je regelen of aanbevelingen doen voor plaatsen die je kunt bezoeken.

10:00 - 14:00 - Mandalaire Agroecologische Boerderij:

De adem in de stad. Ga terug naar je wortels, rust uit en haal diep adem, het kan allemaal op één plek!

Beleef een unieke ervaring tijdens een wandeling door de charmante boerderij van Doña Marta, waar je leert dat het mogelijk is om voedsel te planten en te verbouwen op een duurzamere en gezondere manier. Proef hun heerlijke biologische gerechten, met verse ingrediënten die uit de tuin op tafel komen.

Aan het begin van je tour ga je over een kleine houten brug en een kleine waterval naar de boerderij. Daar zal Doña Marta, (eigenaresse en chef-kok), je hartelijk verwelkomen met een heerlijke aromatische thee uit de tuin en dit avontuur beginnen door je de geschiedenis van de boerderij te vertellen.

Je chef zal dan beginnen met het bereiden van je eerste gang. Als je wilt kun je ook meehelpen met de bereiding en even chef-kok worden of gewoon zitten en kijken vanaf de tafel die direct naast de keuken staat.

Vervolgens krijg je een rondleiding door de tuin en leer je over permacultuur, compostering en andere processen die veel voordelen opleveren voor de planeet en die Doña Marta en haar gasten in staat stellen om te genieten van vers en 100% biologisch voedsel.

Hierna geniet je van het hoofdgerecht en een heerlijk dessert dat favoriet is geworden bij iedereen die Mandalaire bezoekt.

Dagen 2

Fruitproeverij, Comuna 13 en stadswandeling

8:00 - 17:00 - Fruitproeverij, Comuna 13 en rondleiding door de stad:

Ontdek de goede, slechte en soms lelijke kant van deze geweldige stad

Je begint je dag in Comuna 13, iets wat 15 jaar geleden ondenkbaar zou zijn geweest vanwege het geweld en het gebrek aan veiligheid. Deze locatie is niet alleen de belangrijkste straatkunstwijk van Medellin, maar het is ook de plek waar de allereerste elektrische roltrappen in de open lucht ter wereld werden gemonteerd. Je maakt een ritje op deze roltrappen en krijgt de kans om de betekenis achter veel van de graffiti te leren kennen.

Vervolgens maak je een ritje met de kabelbaan over de honderden huizen in Comuna 13. Veel van deze huizen en nederzettingen behoren toe aan de bewoners. Veel van deze huizen en nederzettingen behoren toe aan ontheemden van het platteland. Als gevolg van een ingewikkeld intern conflict tussen de FARC, het Colombiaanse leger, paramilitairen en drugshandelaren zijn er in Colombia meer dan 7 miljoen mensen ontheemd geraakt.

Na deze ongelofelijke rondleiding door de graffiti ga je genieten van een fruitproeverij van de meest verbazingwekkende tropische vruchten op Plaza la America. Hier vind je bijna elke vrucht die je je maar kunt voorstellen en veel daarvan heb je gegarandeerd nog nooit gezien!

Als je je reis voortzet, breng je een bezoek aan Parques del Río. De plek die oost en west Medellin met elkaar verbindt door de Medellin rivier. Het ligt in het centrum van de stad en staat bekend om zijn infrastructuur, vegetatie en prachtige rustplaatsen. Hier vind je een unieke sculptuur van de Zwitserse kunstenaar Ugo Rondinone met de naam Colores de la montaña, de enige die is gemaakt voor openbare ruimtes in Latijns-Amerika.

Vervolgens gaan we naar Barefoot Park. Een plek om je zintuigen te prikkelen door het geluid van water, bamboepaden, pierenbadjes waar je doorheen kunt lopen en een zandpad.

Hierna vervolg je je reis en bezoek je een locatie vol verrassingen. Hier vind je niet alleen het Medellín Civic Center, administratieve gebouwen zoals het stadhuis van Medellín en het Lichtpark, maar ook enkele van de belangrijkste historische gebouwen uit de geschiedenis van Medellín. Niet alleen dit, maar je ziet ook de Eeuwige Vlam, een monument voor de vrijheid van meningsuiting, de grootste verticale tuin in Medellín, het gigantische Monumento a la Raza van Rodrigo Arenas Betancourt en andere interessante beelden en plaatsen.

Vervolgens maken we een stop bij Botero Plaza, een iconische plek die ook wel Sculptures Park wordt genoemd. Deze stedelijke ruimte toont 23 sculpturen van de beroemde zoon van Medellin en meesterbeeldhouwer Fernando Botero.

Na een wandeling en bewondering voor deze al fresco galerij, ga je verder naar het Cultural Palace, een prachtig gebouw in neogotische stijl, en een bezoek aan de allereerste kerk die in Medellin werd gebouwd tijdens de koloniale periode, samen met de op één na oudste kerk la Iglesia de la Veracruz, gebouwd in 1803.

De laatste stop op de tour van vandaag is het Parque Memorial Inflexion. Voorheen bekend als het Monaco gebouw (een van de persoonlijke flatgebouwen van Pablo Escobar), werd het in 1990 gebombardeerd door het Cali Kartel en in 2019 afgebroken door de stad. Nu is het een herdenkingspark gewijd aan de slachtoffers van narcoterrorisme. Het heeft drie secties, de eerste is het pad van de helden. Deze plek is een eerbetoon aan beroemde of belangrijke figuren uit de geschiedenis van Colombia die door Pablo Escobar zijn vermoord. De tweede en derde sectie tonen de bomaanslagen en terroristische aanslagen die plaatsvonden tussen de ergste jaren 1984 en 1993 met de dood van Pablo Escobar. Gedurende deze 9 jaar waren er ongeveer 208 terroristische aanslagen en 46.612 slachtoffers.

Dagen 3

Guatape Rots met Koffieplantage Dagtocht

7:30 - 17:00 - Guatape Rots met Koffieplantage Dagtocht:

Een prachtige locatie, met prachtige uitzichten en een kleurrijk, artistiek stadje.

Je zult genieten van een prachtige rit naar La Piedra (De Rots, beter bekend als Guatape Rots). Dit is gewoon een prachtige en enorme steen die hoog boven het meer van Guatape uittorent. Eenmaal hier heb je de mogelijkheid om de 740 treden naar de top te beklimmen, met een adembenemend uitzicht bij elke stap.

Hierna maak je een stop in Guatape stad (De Stad van Zocalos) waar je door de straten van deze prachtige stad loopt en leert wat de Zocalo traditie is en waarom het begonnen is. Je bezoekt ook de Plaza (het centrale plein), Remembrance Street, de promenade (Malecón), de kerk, misschien een ritje met de tuk-tuk en nog veel meer.

Het volgende avontuur van vandaag is een uitstekende koffieboerderij in Antioquia, waar je een volledige rondleiding en uitleg krijgt over hoe het hele proces van het verbouwen van de perfecte koffieboon in zijn werk gaat. Je zult het proces begrijpen van het planten, het met de hand plukken van de rijpste bonen, het ontpulpen, wassen, sorteren in klassen, drogen, branden en uiteindelijk het maken van het perfecte brouwsel.

Als je verder gaat met je rondleiding, stop je bij een replica van het oude stadsplein van Peñol. De oorspronkelijke stad is eigenlijk verzonken en ligt nu op de bodem van het door mensen gemaakte Peñol-Guatape stuwmeer. Het enige stuk dat nog zichtbaar is, is de spiraal van de kerktoren.

Dagen 4

Medellin Bloemen en Silleteros Tour & Afscheid van Medellin

8:00 - 12:00 - Medellin Bloemen en Silleteros Tour:

Je begint je avontuur met een prachtige rit naar een uitstekende Silletero boerderij (bloemenboerderij) in Antioquia. Bij aankomst geniet je van een traditioneel drankje gemaakt van koffie en aguardiente (een alcoholische drank gemaakt van suikerriet) genaamd een "Carajillo".

Na dit drankje begin je met een wandeling door de prachtige bloemenvelden met hun vele kleuren en heerlijke geuren. Je begint de geschiedenis en tradities van de Silleteros te leren die generaties en generaties teruggaan.

Ze geven je een demonstratie van het maken van een traditionele Silleta (het bloemstuk gebouwd op een houten basis en gedragen op hun rug), en je mag je eigen Silleta maken en een Silletero worden, al is het maar voor even.

Na deze activiteit brengt ons vervoer je op de door jou gewenste tijd naar het vliegveld van Medellín.

Please note that no exceptions can be made to these conditions once a booking has been confirmed.

By placing a booking with BnB Colombia, Inc. you (the client) and your booking party agree to all of the following terms, conditions, and policies as set out below. During any of the tours, you agree to abide by the subsequent conditions as set out below. If you have any questions about booking with us, please contact us before making a reservation.

Traveling Details Form:

Prior to accepting any reservation, we require all travelers to complete our Travelers Details Form. All sections must be completed and a copy of each traveler’s passport photo page must be provided (can be in black and white).

Why do we ask for this?

Colombian regulations require hotels, tour operators, and travel agencies to keep a copy of customers’ passports on file and to provide them to authorities on request. Without this documentation, we may not be able to honor your reservation.

For example, if the transportation is stopped by police, the driver must know who they are transporting, and to be able to provide the information to the police at this time.

Foreign residents are also exempt from a 19% IVA (VAT) tax.

By providing a valid overseas passport we do not charge this 19% IVA tax.

Without this documentation, we are required to charge you this tax.

Payments and Service Fees:

Private Package Tours: At the time of booking a 30% deposit is required to guarantee your reservation and tour date. The remaining balance is to be paid 60 days before the tour start date.

Group Package Tours: At the time of booking a 30% deposit is required to guarantee your reservation and tour date. The remaining balance is to be paid 60 days before the tour start date.

Changes to Tours:

We reserve the right to make small changes during your tour or prior to your tour date. This may be caused by extreme weather, safety or health concerns, traffic delays, changes to operational hours of experiences and destinations, other logistical issues, or just recommendations from previous clients that will improve your experience. You will be advised of any changes that may be made.

After payment has been received, you may request changes to your itinerary. If available, these changes will be provided with an additional cost that must be paid prior to the tour date. Changes to your itinerary cannot be requested after the tour start date.

If a tour finishes early, any additional experiences requested will require an additional payment.

If time permits during transfers small stoppages are permitted for photos or bathroom breaks.

Longer stops of 15 minutes or more will require an additional payment unless pre-arranged in the itinerary.

Additional tours during the process of a transfer are not permitted.

Photos taken during Tours:

We reserve the right to use any photos and or videos taken during transfers or tours in future social media posts or in the publication of our tours. These photos and or videos may or may not include travelers. If you do not wish to be included in any photos or videos please put this in writing to your destination expert or email [email protected].

Cancellation, Non-Arrival (No-show), and Refund Policy:

All cancellations must be made in writing to [email protected] and will not be accepted via telephone. In case of a cancellation or change to plans already booked, we advise clients to contact us immediately for a solution, however, cancellation fees may apply.

Day Tours & Private Transfers:

If you wish to change or cancel your reservation for any reason 72 hours or more prior to the start of your tour or transportation you will receive a full refund, which will be provided within 7 working days.

If you wish to change or cancel your reservation for any reason less than 72 hours prior to the start of your tour or transportation you will lose the complete value of your tour and/or transportation.

“No Shows” will lose the complete value of your tour and/or transportation.

Private Package Tours:

All deposits are 100% non-refundable (Lifetime credit available).
“No Shows” will lose the complete value of the tour(s).
Free date changes for any reason 61 days or more prior to the start of your Private Package Tour. Except for any non-refundable expenses incurred by BnB Colombia Tours, such as flights and accommodation.
If you cancel your reservation for any reason 61 days or more prior to your scheduled Private Package Tour start date, you can be reimbursed the full cost of your Private Package Tour minus the non-refundable deposit of 30% of the Private Package Tour cost + the costs of any non-refundable expenses incurred by BnB Colombia Tours, such as flights and accommodation. After any non-refundable expenses are removed, the deposit shall be held as a Lifetime Credit for you!
If you wish to change your reservation for any reason less than 61 days prior to the start of your Private Package Tour, a 50% re-booking/cancelation fee will be assessed and required to confirm any changes + the costs of any non-refundable expenses incurred by BnB Colombia Tours, such as flights and accommodation.
If you wish to cancel your reservation for any reason less than 61 days prior to the start of your Private Package Tour, you will lose the complete value of your Private Package Tour minus the non-refundable deposit of 30% of the Private Package Tour cost + the costs of any non-refundable expenses incurred by BnB Colombia Tours, such as flights and accommodation.
After any non-refundable expenses are removed, the deposit shall be held as a Lifetime Credit for you!

Group Package Tours (Shared Package Tours):

All deposits are 100% non-refundable (Lifetime credit available).
“No Shows” will lose the complete value of the tour(s).
Free date changes for any reason 61 days or more prior to the start of your Group Package Tour. Except for any non-refundable expenses incurred by BnB Colombia Tours, such as flights and accommodation.
If you cancel your reservation for any reason 61 days or more prior to your scheduled Group Package Tour start date, you can be reimbursed the full cost of your Group Package Tour minus the non-refundable deposit of 30% of the Group Package Tours cost + the costs of any non-refundable expenses incurred by BnB Colombia Tours, such as flights and accommodation. After any non-refundable expenses are removed, the deposit shall be held as a Lifetime Credit for you!

Your Personal Details & Privacy

To keep our prices as low as possible (residents of foreign countries are not required to pay IVA for accommodation, transportation, or tours) and for security reasons, we keep a register of all persons who stay with us and/or book tours through our website, this includes the full names, nationality, home addresses, telephone numbers, and copies of passport photo pages, and passport numbers. These records are kept for a minimum of 12 months.

This information may also be used for the purposes of marketing, understanding our client base, and improving our services to the general public.

Our policy surrounding the personal details you provide as part of any booking or inquiry through this website / or a third-party website, including the privacy of those details is explained and set out in our Privacy policy.

Liability and Travel Insurance

BnB Colombia Tours Inc. accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, accident, injury, sickness, or schedule change due to weather, strike, natural disaster, or any other cause beyond our control. Including any default or delay caused by any guide, tour, or transport provider, or any other person’s or company’s acts. BnB Colombia Tours reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries, or departure times, without prior notice, should the necessity arise. In the case of any changes to flights or to scheduled ground travel, you are responsible for additional costs incurred as a result of such changes. We, therefore, advise all travelers it is mandatory for you to obtain comprehensive travel insurance to meet all contingencies. This insurance must cover personal injury and emergency medical expenses. You are strongly recommended to extend your coverage to include cancellation, curtailment, and all other expenses that may arise due to loss, damage, injury, delay, or inconvenience while traveling. You acknowledge that insurance coverage is not included in the cost of any tour offered by BnB Colombia Tours, and you are required to obtain separate coverage at an additional cost. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have sufficient coverage and comply with the terms of the applicable insurance plans. You are responsible for advising your insurer of the type of travel, destination(s), and activities included in your booking so that the insurer may provide appropriate coverage.

Our Right To Cancellation

We reserve the right to cancel any booking without compensation, refund, or reimbursement if the terms of these conditions are breached.

We reserve the right to remove any person without compensation, refund, or reimbursement from a shared group tour for operational issues.

Changes to Terms, Conditions, and Policies:

BnB Colombia Tours has the discretion to update these terms, conditions, and privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

Tour operator(s) / contractor(s): The person(s), company, or organization that operates a tour.

Booking / reservation: The act of reserving your space/spot on a tour, experience, or package tour.

No show/non-arrival: A person(s) who do not attend a tour(s) at the agreed-upon time.

Private Package Tour: A multi-day private tour that includes multiple tours with a duration of more than 1 day.

Group Package Tour: A multi-day package tour shared with other travelers that may have booked separately to you. It includes multiple tours with a duration of more than 1 day.

Also referred to as a shared tour

Transportation: The service of transporting a person(s) from one location to another location. May include car, bus, van, plane, 4×4

Accommodation: The location a person(s) may sleep. May include hostel, hotel, Finca, farm, private residents, shared rooms, and private rooms.

Free Date Changes: There is no service fee for providing the changes to the dates of your private day tour if made at least 48 hours before the tour start date.

There is no service fee for providing the changes to the dates of your private package tour if made at least 31 days before the tour start date.

There is no service fee for providing the changes to the dates of your group package tour if made at least 65 days before the tour start date.

All non-refundable expenses incurred by BnB Colombia tours, such as flights, accommodation, pre-paid transportation, pre-paid guides, pre-paid experiences, and pre-paid tours will be assessed and required to confirm any changes.

Lifetime Credit: Credit with BnB Colombia Tours that is equal to the value of the deposit of your package(s), or day tour(s) until such time as you decide to enjoy it.

Excludes non-refundable expenses incurred by BnB Colombia tours, such as flights, accommodation, pre-paid transportation, pre-paid guides, pre-paid experiences, pre-paid tours, + 5% of the package tours value to cover the salary costs of BnB Colombia Tours employees.
