Itinéraire

Le trek de la vallée de Gokyo est une excellente alternative au trek du camp de base de l'Everest. Il remonte la vallée à l'ouest de l'Everest jusqu'au village de Gokyo et aux cinq lacs sacrés situés sur la moraine à côté du glacier de Ngozumpa. Cette ascension spectaculaire, presque aussi haute que le trek du camp de base de l'Everest, offre des vues tout aussi époustouflantes sur l'Everest, mais les sentiers sont moins fréquentés et plus tranquilles, les villages sherpas traditionnels servant des repas locaux à des légions de randonneurs affamés. Le sentier suit la rivière Dudh Koshi jusqu'à sa source, une série de lacs vert émeraude. Gokyo est un village sherpa situé à côté du plus grand de ces lacs. De Gokyo, nous montons à Gokyo Ri (5360 m) pour une vue imprenable sur l'Everest, le Lhotse, le Cho Oyu et le Makalu, le Cholatse et le Taboche.


Notre voyage commence

Le trek de la vallée de Gokyo commence par un vol panoramique de Katmandou vers la petite ville de Lukla, située au sommet d'une colline. Lukla est le point de départ de plusieurs treks dans la région du Khumbu. Dès l'atterrissage à Lukla, votre trek commence, en direction de Phakding. En chemin, vous pourrez admirer le mont Khumbila, connu sous le nom de "Dieu du Khumbu". L'ascension de ce sommet sacré est interdite, ce qui en fait l'un des sommets les moins gravis de la région. Depuis Phakding, vous traversez une nature luxuriante et vous vous rendez à Namche Bazaar, capitale sherpa et centre économique de la région. Après une excursion d'acclimatation à Namche, vous vous dirigez vers Phortse Thenga, un village au bord de la rivière.


Ensuite, vous traverserez la section de la crête avec d'excellentes vues sur la vallée de Kangtega et sur le Cho Oyu. Trekking en haute montagne où la ligne des arbres disparaît, en suivant la moraine terminale du glacier Ngozumpa, vous atteindrez le minuscule hameau de Machhermo. Le lendemain, vous vous dirigez vers Gokyo. Vous suivrez les réseaux de rivières aux eaux glaciaires étincelantes et traverserez les paysages bruns et gris jusqu'au village de Gokyo.


Passer nos journées à Gokyo

À Gokyo, vous passerez deux jours à explorer. Le lendemain, partez à la découverte de la série de lacs verts et émeraude qui les entourent. Les deux premiers lacs sont situés juste à côté de la maison de thé. Le troisième lac est accessible après une courte randonnée. Ensuite, explorez le quatrième lac de Gokyo qui se trouve à 3 km au nord du village de Gokyo. Poursuivez votre randonnée vers le 4e et le 5e lac. Dirigez-vous également vers le point de vue "Scoundrel's Viewpoint", situé au bord du 5e lac. Les montagnes Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse et Makalu, ainsi que l'immense glacier Ngozumba apparaissent dans leur forme majestueuse au point de vue. Passez la journée à vous promener autour des lacs et à visiter d'autres lacs sacrés.


Le lendemain, dirigez-vous vers le sommet du Gokyo Ri, à 5360 mètres d'altitude. L'ascension n'est pas technique, mais l'altitude peut être un problème, alors allez-y doucement. Depuis le Ri, vous verrez le Cho Oyu, l'Everest, le Lhotse, le Makalu, le Cholatse et le Taboche, avec le glacier Ngozumpa qui traverse le paysage comme une énorme déchirure.


Après avoir exploré les lacs, revenez sur vos pas en direction de Dole, Namche Bazaar et enfin Lukla. Enfin, de Lukla, prenez un vol pour Katmandou. Le trek de la vallée de Gokyo est spécialement conçu pour ceux qui préfèrent un sentier moins fréquenté avec des installations d'hébergement de base. Permis d'entrée et conditions requises :

Le trek de la vallée de Gokyo nécessite deux permis :


1) le permis d'entrée dans le parc national de Sagarmatha et


2) le permis d'entrée de la municipalité rurale de Khumbu.


Le bureau de l'Office du tourisme du Népal à Katmandou ou l'entrée du parc à Monjo peuvent vous fournir le permis d'entrée du parc national de Sagarmatha au prix de 3 000 NRS.


Pour les citoyens des pays de l'ASACR, les frais sont de 1500 NRS.


Vous devez remplir le formulaire de demande de permis et présenter votre passeport ou une copie de votre passeport. Vous devez être à Lukla pour obtenir le Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit. Ce permis coûte 2000 NRS et peut être obtenu au comptoir de la municipalité rurale à la périphérie de la ville.


Vous n'aurez pas à vous préoccuper de l'attente des permis puisque le Club Alpin de l'Himalaya ou nos guides s'occuperont de tout.


Préparation pour le trek de la vallée de Gokyo :

En bref, le sentier de la vallée de Gokyo est rude et brutal, avec de hautes falaises et des terrains montagneux secs, c'est pourquoi les randonneurs doivent être mieux préparés. Les trekkeurs doivent donc être mieux préparés. De la météo à l'hébergement en passant par la condition physique, ils doivent tout prévoir à l'avance.


Quelle est la meilleure période pour visiter la région ?

La meilleure saison pour faire du trekking dans la région de l'Everest est l'automne et le printemps, c'est-à-dire les mois de septembre, d'octobre, de novembre, de mars, d'avril et de mai.


Pendant l'automne, c'est-à-dire les mois de septembre, octobre et novembre, le temps est clair, les températures chaudes et la visibilité excellente. Le temps étant doux, il est très facile de se déplacer dans la région.


Le printemps, en mars, avril et mai, est également la meilleure période pour visiter la région de l'Everest. Marquant la fin de l'hiver, le printemps apporte un changement dans la topographie de la région et la destination prend vie avec des rangées interminables de rhododendrons de différentes couleurs, des arbres drapés de mousse et d'orchidées, des sous-bois colorés qui s'étendent sur des kilomètres et des pics montagneux blancs et enneigés sur la toile de fond d'un ciel bleu clair.


La mousson n'est pas propice au trekking car le temps devient rude et il est difficile de se déplacer dans le pays en raison des glissements de terrain et des inondations fréquents. La mousson est donc généralement évitée par les randonneurs.


En hiver, la région reçoit d'importantes chutes de neige, qui recouvrent la plupart des pistes, et l'accès à la plupart des régions de l'Everest est interdit, ce qui rend le trekking impossible.


Pourquoi ce circuit est-il unique ?


Le trek de la vallée de Gokyo vous emmène sur les sentiers isolés de la région du Khumbu. Programme du circuit

Day 1

Vol pour Lukla (2800 mètres/ 9187 pieds). Trekking jusqu'à Phakding (2610 mètres/ 8562 pieds) Vol de 30 minutes. Durée du trekking : 2-3 heures

After breakfast head towards the domestic airport and catch a flight towards Lukla. Lukla is regarded as the gateway to the Everest region. The thrilling flight you will take you flying amidst the grand Himalayas. Upon landing at Lukla and after a brief stop, start your trek.


Following the descending trail, you will reach the village of Cheplung, from the village witness the view of Mt. Khumbila known as the "God of Khumbu". The sacred peak is prohibited to climb, making it one of the unclimbed peaks in the region. From Cheplung, continue the trek along lush woodland on a descending trail towards Phakding.

Day 2

Trekking jusqu'à Namche (3440 Meters/ 11286 Feet) Durée du trekking : 5-6 heures

Today you will be heading towards Namche Bazaar. The Sherpa capital and economic hub of the region, where you can find basic to grandeur amenities. Start your trek traversing across the dense wilderness of the Khumbu region. Crossing through the hamlet of Zamphute and Tok Tok. Following uphill and downhill trails and crossing multiple suspension bridges over the rapids of the Dudh Koshi River. Along with this section witness the magnificent view of Mt. Thamserku (21,675ft) and you will pass the settlement of Benkar and Chumoa.


As you progress from here you will reach the Sagarmatha National Park entrance at Monjo. After your permits are checked, head on an uphill climb towards Namche Bazaar following a steep path over a high bridge with views of the Dudh Koshi River gorge. As, you gain elevation witness views of Everest, Lhotse, Tawache, and other mountain giants. Upon reaching Namche head towards your accommodation and rest.

Day 3

Acclimatation à Namche Bazaar (3440 mètres/ 11286 pieds)

This is the first day of acclimatization. At higher altitudes due to the presence of thin air proper acclimatization is very important for your body to adapt. Today you will be heading on various small hikes in and around Namche Bazaar.


Hike up to Everest View Hotel to enjoy admirable views of the Himalayan vista. From the Hotel catch a glorious view of the beautiful landscape filled with evergreen fir trees, shrubs, and endless rhododendron forests and offers a 360-degree view of the awe-inspiring Himalayas.


After soaking in the views, on your way back to Namche, head towards the Khumjung Monastery. The monastery house, what is to be believed as a Yeti scalp. After exploring the ancient monastery, visit the Tourist Visitor Center near the headquarter of the Sagarmatha National Park and observe an assortment of things related to the first Everest ascenders, Sherpa culture, and learn about the biodiversity of the Everest region.

Day 4

Trekking jusqu'à Phortse Thenga (3680 Meters/ 12073 Feet) Durée du trekking : 6 heures

Start by climbing a steep incline out of the valley along the lush wilderness of rhododendron, and juniper. As you gain altitude the landscape changes to patches of large conifers and shrubs. Today you will be covering a distance of 5.7 kilometers/ 3.5 miles. Along the trail witness the true culture of the Sherpa People. As you progress the trail takes you across Yak Kharka a high alpine pastureland and summer settlements villages. Witness grand views of Ama Dablam and other snowy peaks. Next, you will reach the settlement of Mong, marked by a large white Gompa. This village is the birthplace of the Khumbu saint, Lama Sangwan Dorje.


From here after a short descent, you will see the village of Phortse Thenga, across the river. Following the trail, you will eventually reach the village, a riverside settlement.

Day 5

Trekking jusqu'à Machhermo (4470 Meters/ 14665 Feet) Durée du trekking : 7 heures

Today’s trek is long and takes you to higher altitude, which means thin air so take it slow and have frequent rest. First head out of Phortse Thenga ascending on a ridge section with excellent views down the valley to Kangtega and up towards Cho Oyu. As you progress you will be traversing on high alpine grounds where the tree line disappears. Witness grand views of the Himalayas along the trail. Next, descend towards the river and upon crossing the river head on a tuff uphill section, as you gain altitude you will be traversing the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa glacier. Following the moraine, you will reach the tiny hamlet of Machhermo.

Day 6

Trekking jusqu'à Gokyo (4790 mètres/ 15715 pieds) Durée du trekking : 7 heures

Today's trek will take you to Gokyo. Covering a distance of 6.8 kilometers/ 4.2 miles and gaining 320 meters in altitude. Start by following the river network sparkling with glacier waters. Along the trail witness splendid views of the Ngozumpa glacier as well as Khumjung and Khunde peaks. As you progress you will be traversing high alpine grounds with arid landscapes and flat terrain of brown and grey shades.


After traversing across high mountain country crossing glacieric streams and river networks a steep ascend will lead you to the settlement of Gokyo. For the next 2 days, you will be exploring the wonders of Gokyo.

Day 7

Découvrir autour de Gokyo

Today you will be exploring the wonders of the Gokyo region. Before dawn witness the Himalayan sunrise. After breakfast head out to explore the series of Gokyo Lakes. The region nestles the world's highest freshwater lake system comprising six main lakes and associated wetlands of 7,770 ha (30.0 sq mi) which has been designated a Ramsar site. The lakes also have cultural significance and are visited by Hindu and Buddhist devotees at various festivals.


Explore the emerald, green lakes and soak in the energy. After exploring the 3 lakes located in small proximity of the tea house. Next head out to explore the fourth Gokyo Lake which is 3km north of the Gokyo Village. Next, continue trekking towards the 5th lake. The view from ‘Scoundrel’s Viewpoint’, located at the edge of the 5th lake, is astonishing. Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu mountains, and the huge Ngozumba Glacier appear in its majestic form. Spend the day strolling around the lakes and visiting other sacred lakes. After exploring return back to the settlement.

Day 8

Randonnée jusqu'à Gokyo Ri (5483 mètres) Durée de la randonnée - 6 heures

Gokyo Ri is the highlight of the Gokyo valley Trek and is an epic vantage point for the mountain views. Following an uphill section will lead you to the summit of Gokyo Ri, start by traversing across the stream on the northern end of the village and ascending for a couple of hours and you will reach the summit marked by a cradle of prayer flags. The climb is non-technical, but the altitude may be a problem for some, so take it slow and have frequent rest. From the summit, witness splendid panoramic views of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse, and Taboche, with the Ngozumpa Glacier cutting across in front like a massive tear in the landscape. Catch the views of a series of emerald, green lakes. After exploring the Ri and soaking in the majestic views retrace your steps back towards the village.

Day 9

Trekking jusqu'à Dole (4200 Meters/ 13779 Feet) Durée du trekking : 6 heures

Today enjoy the majestic views of the landscape while heading on a descending trail. Traversing across the alpine territory, crossing streams and the tracks of Ngozumba glacier. Along the way witness views of Cholatse and Cho Oyu peaks. Retracing your steps back you will eventually reach the settlement of Dole.

Day 10

Trekking jusqu'à Namche via Khumjung (3880 Meters/ 12729 Feet) Durée du trekking : 6 à 7 heures

Today you will be heading towards Namche Bazaar and most of the section is downhill. Start early as you will have to cover a lot of ground about 11.5 kilometers. From the high alpine ground, you will reach lush woodlands. Along the way witness grand views of the landscapes and the snowy mountain range. As you progress you will reach the settlement of Khumjung. From Khumjung head towards Namche Bazaar. Upon reaching Namche Bazaar after a brief rest, head out to visit various pubs and restaurants in the region.

Day 11

Trekking jusqu'à Lukla (2800 mètres/ 9187 pieds). Durée du trekking : 6 heures

Today’s trek is entirely on a downward section. Cross several bridges over the fast-flowing Dudh Koshi River and its tributaries. Along the trek, enjoy walking on open plains, through rhododendron and pine forests, and distant views of the snow-covered peaks. Along the trail cross several villages. Upon reaching Lukla, rest for a while. Later celebrate the success of your trek and the last night in the mountains with your team members.

Day 12

De Lukla à Katmandou : Durée du vol : 30 minutes

The flights to Kathmandu are usually scheduled for the morning for safety purposes. After reaching Kathmandu head towards your accommodation and rest. Today you can take a guided tour of the city or stroll by on your own. In the evening, attend a farewell dinner to celebrate the successful completion of your trek.

Our goal is to ensure your satisfaction with our travel and adventure services. Please review the following terms and conditions for booking with us.

General Booking Conditions

Deposit Policy

­ 

For trips to Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan, a photocopy of your passport and a 35% deposit of the total trip cost are required to confirm your booking.

This 35% deposit is non-refundable and is used to secure hotel reservations, transportation, trekking permits, and other advance arrangements.

The remaining balance must be paid upon arrival in Kathmandu, prior to the commencement of the tour.

Booking a Trip

­ 

* A 'trip' encompasses any itinerary or activities, including trekking, tours, expeditions, and other adventure programs that you purchase from us.

* The contract between Alpine Club of Himalaya Pvt. Ltd. and the client is established only when we send a confirmation invoice or email to the customer.

* We reserve the right to adjust the prices of trips or tours before the booking is confirmed and the contract is finalized.

Alpine Club of Himalaya   Pvt. Ltd. will not be responsible for any warranties, collateral agreements, prior agreements, or descriptions of services or conditions beyond those explicitly stated in this agreement.

Cancellation Policy

­ 

If you need to cancel your booking with the Alpine Club of Himalaya, please provide us with written notice. We will confirm the receipt of your cancellation request. The amount you will be charged for canceling will depend on how close to the departure date you make your request:

­ •⁠  ⁠60 days or more before departure:

A non-refundable cancellation fee of 35% of the total tour cost will apply.

•⁠  ⁠45 to 59 days before departure:

40% of the total tour cost will be charged.

•⁠  ⁠30 to 44 days before departure:

50% of the total tour cost will be charged.

•⁠  ⁠15 to 29 days before departure:

70% of the total tour cost will be charged.

•⁠  ⁠7 to 14 days before departure:

85% of the total tour cost will be charged.

•⁠  ⁠Less than 7 days before departure:

100% of the total tour cost will be charged.

Please note, no refunds will be provided if you voluntarily drop out once the trip has begun or if you do not use any pre-paid services such as accommodation, transportation, or meals.

Cancellation by Alpine Club Of Himalaya  Pvt. Ltd.

­ 

Alpine Club of Himalaya   Pvt. Ltd. reserves the right to cancel any trip, including those guaranteed to operate, before departure due to circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, flight cancellations, strikes, industrial action, wars, riots, illness, quarantine, government restrictions, adverse weather, or other unforeseen events. In such cases, we will provide a refund of the trip price only. If a guaranteed trip is canceled, you will have the option to either receive a full refund or choose an alternative trip of equal value.

Significant alterations do not include changes to airline carriers, flight schedules, or itineraries, as long as departure and arrival dates remain the same. Changes in cabin category or hotel accommodation will be within the same category.

Please be aware that Alpine Club of Himalaya   Pvt. Ltd. is not liable for any incidental expenses or consequential losses incurred by the client as a result of the booking. This includes costs such as visa fees, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail fares, parking fees, loss of earnings, or loss of enjoyment.

Additionally, no refunds will be given if you choose to withdraw from the trip after it has commenced, or if you do not utilize any pre-paid services, including accommodation, transportation, or meals.

Last-Minute Booking

­ 

Last-minute bookings for Nepal trips are accepted up to one day before departure. Full payment is required immediately. Last-minute bookings for Bhutan and Tibet trips are not accepted.

Trip Postponement

­ 

If you need to postpone your trip, notify us in writing with your new departure date. We will transfer your reservations to the new date at no additional cost, unless there are changes in rates for the new date.

Medical Conditions and Special Requirements

­ 

If you have any medical conditions or special requirements, please inform Alpine Club of Himalaya   Pvt. Ltd. at the time of booking. This includes physical disabilities or any other conditions that may affect your ability to travel. Failure to disclose such conditions may lead to refusal of travel and potential forfeiture of your deposit or even the full trip cost.

Certain trips may not be suitable for clients based on age, physical conditions (such as mobility issues or pregnancy), or mental health. It is your responsibility to verify suitability before booking. Alpine Club of Himalaya    Pvt. Ltd. will not provide special accommodations unless explicitly agreed upon in writing. We will make every effort to accommodate special requests, including dietary preferences, but such requests are not guaranteed and do not form part of the contractual agreement.

Medical facilities and standards vary by country, and Alpine Club of Himalaya    Pvt. Ltd. makes no representations or warranties regarding the quality of medical treatment available.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is mandatory for all clients. It should cover personal injury, medical expenses, repatriation, helicopter rescue, and other relevant risks. We recommend purchasing insurance from a reputable provider in your country.

Passport and Visa

­ 

Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your return date. Nepalese visas can be obtained at the Nepalese Consulate or on arrival at Kathmandu Airport. Visa costs are the client’s responsibility.

­ 

Flight Delays and Changes in Itinerary

­ 

Please be aware that mountain adventures are subject to unpredictable weather conditions. Bad weather in mountainous regions can lead to delays or cancellations of domestic flights. In such cases, Alpine Club of Himalaya Pvt. Ltd. will arrange accommodation (guesthouse) and provide meals (lunch and breakfast) if requested by the client. However, clients are responsible for covering any additional expenses, including those for extra food and accommodation. If you opt for alternative arrangements, such as a helicopter flight to bypass delays, you will be responsible for all associated costs.

Alpine Club of Himalaya Pvt. Ltd. is not liable for missed international flights. We will make every effort to assist with alternative arrangements where possible. Additionally, please note that changes to the itinerary may be necessary due to adverse weather conditions or other factors beyond our control during outdoor activities.

Payments can be made via wire transfer or credit card.

Credit Card Payment

To pay by credit card (Mastercard or Visa), select your trip package, complete the required information on the “BOOK THIS TRIP” form, and pay the specified advance amount. You will receive an invoice and further instructions via email.

Good health is essential for a successful Himalayan adventure. Ensure you are physically and mentally prepared to tackle the demands of the trip. We prioritize your well-being and aim to make your journey with us unforgettable and enjoyable.

Guaranteed Departures

Once your trip is booked, we guarantee departure on the scheduled date, regardless of group size. Even if fewer participants join, we will proceed with the trip as planned. Our team at Alpine Club of Himalaya is committed to adhering to your schedule and ensuring a seamless experience.

Risk and Liability

­ 

We strive to provide exceptional service and a pleasant holiday experience. However, Alpine Club of Himalaya  Pvt. Ltd. and its affiliates are not responsible for itinerary changes due to unforeseen circumstances such as government restrictions, natural disasters, political unrest, flight cancellations, or other events beyond our control. Adventure trips inherently involve risks, and clients accept responsibility for any personal injuries, damages, or additional expenses that may arise.

Cost Adjustments

Alpine Club of Himalaya Pvt. Ltd. reserves the right to adjust prices posted on our website due to unforeseen factors like exchange rate fluctuations or government actions. We strive to keep published prices accurate and offer seasonal discounts to match your budget and schedule.

Injuries and Evacuations

Our package costs do not include personal insurance. Alpine Club of Himalaya  is not liable for injuries or health issues during the trip. Clients should have their own insurance coverage.

Client Responsibilities

Our tour/trek leader has full authority during the trip. Any unlawful behavior may result in immediate removal from the tour, with no refund.

Publicity

­ 

We may use photos and videos of clients for promotional purposes on our website, but we respect privacy and will not disclose personal information.

Personal Belongings

­ 

While we take measures to ensure the safety of your belongings, Alpine Club of Himalaya   is not responsible for lost or damaged luggage or personal items during the trip.

Privacy

The information collected during the booking process is used solely for arranging permits and organizing your trip. We do not share or use your personal details for any other purposes or disclose them to third parties.

Missed or Unused Services

No discounts or refunds will be provided for missed or unused services. This includes situations such as voluntary or involuntary departure from the tour due to illness, family emergencies, late arrivals, or early departures, whether voluntary or involuntary.

Updating of Terms and Conditions

Alpine Club Of Himalaya Pvt. Ltd. reserves the right to update and amend these terms and conditions at any time. Clients are responsible for staying informed about any changes.
