Day 1

Arrivée /Nairobi

JAMBO ! A votre arrivée à l'aéroport international Jomo Kenyatta de Nairobi, vous serez accueilli par un représentant du service clientèle de Classic Journeys Africa qui vous aidera à vous rendre à votre hôtel. Avant de vous enregistrer à l'hôtel, il vous informera sur le programme à venir et vous présentera le chauffeur guide qui vous accompagnera tout au long du safari.

Day 2

Excursions à Nairobi

AAfter breakfast you will depart for Nairobi city excursion. Your first stop being Nairobi National Park, just 10 km from the city center and only 117 sq km in size, this is Kenya’s oldest park. Established around 1946, it’s a real contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. With over 500 varieties of birds recorded and more than 100 mammal’s species, a visit to the park is always a memorable experience. Common sightings include zebra, giraffe, buffalo, ostrich, gazelle, eland, hippo, vulture and lion. It is also a great place to see the black rhino. At around 1130hours, you will proceed with your journey to Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage situated on the outskirts of Nairobi the Sanctuary is run by Daphne Sheldrick and is set in the grounds of her house. Here you will see the orphaned animals and meet the people who handle and care for these animals. It’s an interesting excursion and the team who run the orphanage are always willing to spend time answering any questions guests may have to ask.


    


Enjoy a hot lunch at Karen Blixen restaurant before being dropped off at your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Route vers Nyahururu

After breakfast, drive through Thika Super highway with breathtaking views of the pineapple plantation. Stop briefly at Subukia Rift Valley view of the Equator. Later proceed to Thompsons falls, that’s named after the father of Joseph Thompson. First European explorer to reach the majestic location, a 243 feet waterfall on the Ewaso Nyiro river in central rift valley at 7,740 feet in elevation that drains from Aberdares range. The falls water drop where one can see colobus monkey, Hyraxes and variety of bird’s species in 1883. You will a hike to the bottom and back to the viewing point above the falls. It creates a lovely backdrop for photos. After the tour at the falls, you will have a short drive Panari Resort for checking in and lunch.

  

Later in the afternoon, you will depart for your visit to South Marmanet forest, which forms part of the migrating route popularly known as the elephant corridor. In large numbers, elephants use this route to look for food from different parts of the extensive forest land as well as to access the farm lands neighboring the forest during the harvest season. The corridor is also important in accessing elephants’ maternity where families accompany mothers to deliver their calves and watch over them for several days before proceeding.  

  

You thereafter visit the nearby hippo pools for a closer view of these larger mammals before embarking to your resort for a sundowner experience and dinner.

Day 4

Journée entière consacrée à l'exploration du Solio Ranch

After breakfast you will depart for Solio Ranch with packed lunch, for a full day game. The ranch is a fenced, privately owned protected area that’s geared toward rhino conservation.  

The 17,500-acre reserve plays a major part in the protection and breeding black rhinos in Kenya; other wildlife includes the buffalo, zebra, giraffe and plains game such as eland, Oryx, impala, waterbuck, Thompson’s gazelle and warthog. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Promenade en bateau au lac Naivasha, route vers Mara

After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Naivasha. Enjoy a walking safari to the crescent island- The park where you walk with the Animals! There is just one “Crescent Island Game Park” and it is located on Lake Naivasha, Kenya in the Great Rift Valley. There are more animals per acre than any other Kenyan park, hence many film companies have been to the island to film the herds of wildebeest, waterbuck, Zebra and Gazelle. Hippo graze all over us at night then sleep under the acacia or rest in the water by day. The giraffe who were born on the Island return to give birth; sometimes you see three generations at a time. Hyena come to hunt at night but are not resident on the island, the many pythons that live here can be seen occasionally with a kill. Groups of Buffalo come and go but they are always monitored.

You shall proceed with your journey to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, backdrop to ‘The greatest wildlife spectacle on earth', the annual migration of over one million wildebeest, have lunch enroute. Arriving at Enkorok Mara camp in the late afternoon. Enjoy a village visit to maasai community and have firsthand experience with the cultural ways of life of the maasai people get to see the Manyattas and how the homesteads are. Return back to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Explorez la réserve nationale de chasse du Maasai Mara

Enjoy a full day exploring morning safari in Masai Mara national park situated at an average altitude of 1650 m, its plains are an ideal landscape for the elegant and sprightly gazelles. Green in the rainy season, the high-growing grass is dry for the rest of the year, offering one a view of eternal Africa. Expect to spot gnu, zebra and their predators (hyena, lion, leopard, wild dog), especially during the migration period between August and September. You may opt for a full day game drive, and depart with packed lunch after having your breakfast. Alternatively, take the opportunity to fly over the Mara in a Hot Air Balloon at an extra cost. The balloon package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild! If you can spare the money, viewing abundant game afloat a balloon is an unforgettable experience.

Day 7

Route vers Nairobi, vol vers Diani

Today marks the end of your bush expedition. Have breakfast at the Camp, bid farewell to the Masai Mara as you set on your journey back to Nairobi. You will arrive in Kenya's bustling capital city Nairobi in the early afternoon. Spend time doing last minute shopping. Lunch will be on your own arrangements. Transfer to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your departure flight to Diani. 

Upon arrival at the Ukunda Airstrip, you will be met by another of our representative who will transfer you to the Baobab Beach in Diani your home for the next three nights. Located on the world famous Diani Beach, Baobab beach resort and spa is set within 80 acres of tropical gardens, overlooking the Indian Ocean. An oasis of tranquility and serenity, the Resort’s picturesque location is nestled on a coral headland overlooking vast stretches of golden beach. Guestrooms have been specifically designed to provide paramount comfort and luxury for all our clients. Guest may utilize leisure facilities across the resort such as swimming pools, dining areas

Day 8

Séjour à la plage

You will spend these days leisurely at your beach resort with optional water sport activities and Diani excursions available at extra costs. To explore the richness and diversity of marine life, you can go on boat trips, scuba diving, or snorkeling at Diani beach. These are not only some of the most fun activities in Diani, but they also provide a forum to interact closely with marine life. Imagine an encounter with the whale shark! Swimming in the same waters with a turtle community! This experience will scare your wits out.

Day 9

Vol vers Nairobi, départ en avion

Today marks your last day at Diani, spend the day at your resort, transfer to Ukunda Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi. Upon landing in Nairobi, you will have a visit to the giraffe Centre, a nature center run by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife. An elevated observation walkway allows you to get face to face with 18-foot-tall Rothschild’s giraffes. 

Enjoy a farewell dinner at Carnivore restaurant before being dropped at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.

Say good bye to the wonderful country and promise to join us on another expedition!

TERMS & CONDITIONS AGREEMENT

a) Classic Journeys Africa Inclusions & Exclusions

 

INCLUSIONS

• Accommodation in carefully selected properties in all East African countries as per the itineraries.

• Transport in 4 X 4 Land cruisers or comfortable safari minibus, driven by a naturalist driver/guide.Multi lingual driver guides can also be provided.

• Two ½ litre size bottles of mineral water each day for each guest while on safari.

• All meals while on safari as per the itineraries. 

• All park entry fees.

• All transfers as indicated in the itineraries. 

 

EXCLUSIONS

• International flights

• Things of personal nature and any other service not included in the itinerary

• Passport and visa fees and service charges for obtaining visas.

• Personal and baggage insurance.

• Cost for anything not specifically mentioned in the listing above.

• Laundry, beer and non luxurious spirits

 

b) How to Book (Applicable for this booking only)

Send a deposit of 30% of the total tour cost. On receipt of your deposit, subject to availability, we will reserve your place on your selected safari. Full payment to be done 1 month before arrival date of the tour. 

c) Final Payment

Final payment is due two months prior to departure.  Costs of gratuities to driver guides, lodge/hotel staff, as well as any excursion not related to the safari, and other items of personal nature are not included.

 

d) Accommodation Substitution

Should the case arise whereby accommodation is not available at the quoted hotels/Lodges/Tented camps alternative accommodation will be provided at hotels/lodges/tented camps of similar caliber.

e) Diet

Guests with special dietary requirements are advised to warn us well in advance before your departure.

f) Luggage

 Please keep your luggage light – soft duffel bags are preferable.  Luggage is limited to 15kg per person on internal local flights.

g)    Passport and visas

The onus is upon the client to ensure that passport and visas are valid for the countries listed.  The company, its staff and its agents cannot be held liable for any visas etc. not held by the clients.

h) Photography

The company reserves the right without further notice to make use of any photography or film taken on safari by our staff for general purposes without payment or permission.

 

i) Check-in and check-out times

Rooms are available for check in at 1200 Noon on the scheduled arrival date.  Rooms should be vacated by 1000Hrs on the scheduled departure date. Special consideration may be extended on departure time subject to anticipated arrivals.

 

j) Changes to Schedule

Although every effort is made to adhere to schedules it should be borne in mind that the Company reserves the right, and in fact is obliged, to occasionally change routes and accommodations on safaris as dictated by changing conditions.  Such conditions may be brought by force majeure” or statutory directive, seasonal rainfall on bush tracks, airfields and game areas, or game migrations from region to another or reservation problems, etc. However, the company shall make all reasonable efforts in resolving the situation not limited to offering alternative

k) Airline Clause

Flight fares, taxes and schedules are subject to change without prior notification by the airlines. The company will not be held liable for these changes and delays. The airlines cannot be held liable for any act, omission or event during the time the passengers are not on board their plane or conveyance.  The passengers’ tickets in use by the airline or by other carriers concerned when issued, shall constitute a sole contract between the airline and the purchaser of these tickets and or passengers.  Please note that the company subcontracts the flying services to independent charter operations, and they are responsible for the flying. The same will apply to train services.

l) Guide Substitution

If one of our guides is unable to take a safari due to illness or other reasons, we reserve the right to substitute with another guide.

m) Prices

We will do our outmost to keep the prices as quoted or published.  Should fluctuation in statutory taxes, exchange rates, etc. force increases on us; we reserve the right to surcharge without notice, up to maximum of 10% of the tour rate.

n) Participant Incompatibility

The company may, at its discretion and without liability of its cost to itself, at any time cancel or terminate the passengers booking and in particular without limiting the generality of the forgoing, it shall be entitled to do in the event of illness or illegal or incompatible behaviour of the passenger, who shall in such circumstances not be entitled to any refund.

o) Publicity Materials

The company reserves the right to use any photograph or film taken during the safari by any appointed representative of The Company, for the use in The Company’s advertising or publicity material, without obtaining further consent from the client prior to the departure of the client’s appointed safari

p) Fitness

The client acknowledges that the safari can sometimes be demanding and it’s his/her responsibility to ensure that he/she is sufficiently fit and able to embark on the tour.

q) Authority of the Safari leader

Clients will accept the authority and decisions of the safari leader appointed by the Company.  The final decision on the itinerary, accommodation and conduct on the safari will be taken by the safari leader appointed by the Company.

r) Liability

• The company is insured against legal liabilities arising from any injuries which might be received by passengers in its vehicles. The Company’s liability to passengers carried in its vehicles is governed by the laws of Kenya and no other Country, and all claims subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.

• The Company reserves the right to employ sub-contractors to carry out all or part of the Services agreed to be supplied and in the event of the exercise of such right the terms of clause relating to The Company is subject to the booking conditions and cancellation provisions of the Travel organizer or the airline concerned.

• Neither the Company, nor any person acting for, through or on behalf of The Company shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever and without restricting the generality of errors or omission contained in the brochure or other literature, late or non-confirmations or acceptance of bookings, loss or damage caused by delays, sickness or death whether occasioned by the negligence or not.

• In addition, The Company shall have the right at any time at its discretion to cancel any tour or the reminder thereof or make alteration on route, accommodation, price or other details and in the event of any tour being rendered impossible, illegal or inadvisable by the weather, avalanches, strike, war, government or interference or any other cause whatsoever.  The extra expense incurred as a result thereof shall be the responsibility of the passenger.

• Please be aware that these safaris may take you into close contact with wild animals.  Attacks by wild animals are rare, but no safari into the African Wilderness can guarantee that this will not occur. Neither the company, nor its employees, nor its agents can be held responsible for any injury or incident on the safari.

 

Governing Law

All terms and conditions of this agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance to the laws of Kenya, and any litigation necessary to resolve disputes between the parties shall be field in the courts located in Kenya where such a dispute cannot be solved through arbitration.
