Tour program

Day 1

Arrivée à Katmandou.

Arrive in Kathmandu, the Kingdom of Nepal nestled between India and Tibet, renowned for Mount Everest and often referred to as the Shangri La of the East. Upon arrival at the airport, our representative will greet you and escort you to your hotel. Kathmandu, the capital and largest city of Nepal, boasts a wealth of temples. The valley is adorned with seven World Heritage Sites, showcasing a unique blend of cultural heritage and modernity. This evening, you might want to venture into the vibrant Thamel area for exploration.

Start point

Kathmandu, Bagmati Province, Nepal

Begin your day by exploring Swayambhunath, the renowned 2000-year-old Buddhist Stupa affectionately known as the "monkey temple." Its towering white dome and radiant golden spire can be seen from afar, gracing the valley from all directions. Adorning the four-sided base of the spire are the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. Positioned above each pair of eyes is the 'third eye,' symbolizing the wisdom of introspection.

Continue your journey to Durbar Square, the historical "meeting place" at the heart of old Kathmandu. This vibrant square houses a collection of temples and shrines adorned with intricate carvings. Noteworthy structures include the temple of Kasthamandap, believed to be crafted from a single tree; the three-storied Akash Bhairav Temple, dedicated to the God of the sky; and Hanuman Dhoka, the ancient royal palace named after the monkey god. Explore Nasal Chowk, a courtyard used for historic coronations, featuring stunning Rana constructions.

Experience the tradition of worshiping young girls as manifestations of the divine female energy, or "Devi," at the Kumari House (Temple). In the afternoon, venture to Patan City, also known as Lalitpur, one of the oldest Buddhist cities globally, celebrated for its fine arts, crafts, and cultural heritage. Explore Durbar Square and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, concluding your tour with a visit to the Tibetan Handicraft Centre. Witness the intricate hand-weaving techniques employed in crafting Tibetan carpets and the artistry involved in molding metal statues. The center's primary mission is to provide job opportunities for Tibetan refugees.

Embark on a morning exploration of Bhadgaon, also known as Bhaktapur, meaning the "city of devotees." Founded in the 9th century and designed in the shape of a conch shell, this city is a treasure trove of medieval art and architecture. Visit Durbar Square, adorned with an array of temples, and marvel at the Palace of 55 Windows. This palace exemplifies the Pagoda style, standing on five terraces, each hosting a pair of figures, including strong men, elephants, lions, griffins, and goddesses.

One of the esteemed World Heritage Sites, the Pashupatinath Temple, awaits your exploration. This sacred Hindu shrine houses the ornate pagoda containing the sacred linga, symbolizing Lord Shiva. Serving as a symbol of unity, it brings together various Hindu sects under a single fold, nestled in the lush green surroundings on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. While non-Hindus cannot enter the temple, a special vantage point offers a view. Observe devotees partaking in ritual dips along the holy Bagmati riverbanks, significant for Hindu cremations.

Before returning to your hotel, visit Boudhnath, one of the world's largest stupas. Adorned with four pairs of eyes in the cardinal directions, it symbolizes vigilance over righteous behavior and human prosperity. The stupa is constructed on an octagonal base featuring prayer wheels inset within.

Embark on a journey to the Manakamana Temple, located in the Gorkha district of Nepal. This sacred site is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Bhagwati, an incarnation of Parvati. The name Manakamana stems from "mana," meaning heart, and "kamana," meaning wish. Venerated since the 17th century, it is believed that Goddess Bhagwati fulfills the wishes of those who undertake the pilgrimage to worship her. In the afternoon, proceed to Bandipur, a charming town nestled in the Himalayan foothills of Nepal—renowned for both its natural beauty and the warm hospitality of its people. Explore traditional Newari houses adorned with carved wooden windows and slate roofs that gracefully overhang. Enjoy an overnight stay in Bandipur at the best-available hotel in the region, offering a basic yet comfortable experience.

Embark on a morning walking tour through the captivating town of Bandipur. This Newar enclave has preserved its age-old charm, presenting visitors with a delightful blend of history, architecture, breathtaking views, caves, and pristine landscapes. Revel in a breathtaking panorama that encompasses the entire Annapurna Range, along with the peaks of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Langtang. Gain insight into the rich Newar culture while surrounded by the untouched beauty of the scenery.

In the afternoon, journey to Pokhara, a destination renowned for its natural splendor. Nestled at an altitude of 900m and located 200km west of the Kathmandu valley, Pokhara serves as both an adventure hub and the starting point for numerous treks. The town boasts several picturesque lakes and provides awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks. The tranquility of the lakes and the majestic backdrop of the Himalayas create an atmosphere of peace and enchantment. Your accommodation for the next two nights is a heritage property, offering not only deluxe amenities but also a unique location and experience.

Embark on your exploration of the region, starting with a visit to Devi's Fall, also known as Devin's and David's. Legend has it that a trekker named Devin or David was swept away by the Pardi Khola and mysteriously vanished into an underground passage beneath the waterfall. Proceed to Gupteswore Cave, one of Pokhara's largest caves dedicated to Lord Shiva, showcasing another of nature's wonders. Additionally, explore Mahendra Cave, commonly referred to as the Bat Cave.

Conclude your tour with a delightful visit to Phewa Lake, where you'll experience a tranquil boat ride. Phewa Lake, the second-largest lake in the Kingdom, stands as the largest and most captivating among the three lakes enhancing the beauty of Pokhara. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Early this morning drive to Chitwan, Nepal's first national park, located in the south-central region of Nepal. Chitwan was established in 1962 by the late King Mahendra as a rhinoceros preserve. Prior to this, Chitwan used to be a favorite hunting ground for Nepal’s ruling class. Today Chitwan is a protected World Heritage Site, praised as one of the most rich wildlife sanctuaries in all of Asia. Arrive and proceed to your resort where the rest of the day is at leisure.

Today is at your leisure to enjoy various jungle activities organized by the resort, such as nature walks, canoeing, jeep safaris, elephant safaris and bird watching. Have lunch and dinner at the hotel.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then continue overland to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, proceed to your hotel. This afternoon is at your leisure to shop or walk around on your own. This evening enjoy a traditional Nepali Dinner.

Today, you will be transferred back to Kathmandu International Airport for your flight back home.
