Drive from Arusha or Moshi to Londorossi Park Gate then on to the Lemosho Glades (2100m, 3h.). Walk along forest trails to Mti Mkubwa (big tree) campsite, (2750m, 3h.)
Itinéraire
a voie Lemosho, introduite comme alternative à la voie Shira, est l'une des voies les plus récentes du Kilimandjaro. En raison de sa polyvalence, de ses paysages magnifiques et de son début d'ascension plutôt intact et sauvage, le Lemosho est considéré comme l'itinéraire le plus varié. La Tanzanie ne connaît que des saisons humides et sèches, au lieu des quatre saisons auxquelles la plupart des gens sont habitués. La meilleure période pour escalader le Kilimandjaro est la saison sèche.
Programme du circuit
Jour 1 : Moshi ou Arsuha à Londorosi à Mti Mkubwa
Jour 2 : Du camp Mti Mkubwa au plateau de Shira
The trail steepens and crosses several streams in the giant heather zone. The Shira Ridge is crossed (3600m) to the Shira Plateau, camp by a stream. (3500m, 5 h.).
Jour 3 : Du plateau de Shira au refuge de Shira
gentle walk across the plateau leads to Shira Hut camp on moorland meadows by a stream (3840m, 1h30min.). A variety of walks are available on the Plateau making this an excellent acclimatisation day.
Jour 4 : Des refuges de Shira au camp de Barranco
A rocky path leads east up towards the Lava Tower. Shortly beyond this, you descend to Barranco campsite (3950m, 4-5h).
Jour 5 : Du camp de Barranco à la vallée de Karanga
Scramble easily to the top of the Great Barranco and then a traverse over screes and ridges to the Karanga Valley campsite (3h, 4000m.), beneath the icefalls of the Southern Glaciers.
Jour 6 : De la vallée de Karanga au camp de Barafu
The trail ascends a ridge to a campsite by the Barafu Hut, an airy location with little vegetation (3h, 4600m.)
Jour 7 : De Barafu à Stella Point, du pic Uhuru à Mweka Huts
Start just after midnight for the ascent of the screes leading to Stella Point (6h, 5725m.). From here a further 40mins. leads to Uhuru Peak. Descend to the Barafu Hut for a rest and brunch before continuing down to camp at Mweka Hut at 3100m, (11-14h total walking time).
Jour 8 : des refuges de Mweka à la porte de Mweka, descente sur Moshi
A 3-4 hour descent through beautiful forest brings you to the Park Gate.
Option: It is possible to do this route in just 7 days by skipping the acclimatization day.

Cancellation Policy/Charges:-
Cancellations are sometimes unavoidable but please note that all hotels and lodges have cancellation policies to protect themselves against lost business.
Less than 30 days: 100% of invoiced amount
Between 60 days and 30 days: 50% of invoiced
More than 60 days: 20% of the invoice amount“
Drinks: these are NOT included in our costs.
Visa: all nationals will require visas for TANZANIA. We recommend that where possible your clients attain their visas in advance, although they are available upon arrival in TANZANIA.
Climate: The climate is hot and sometimes humid. From December to March, when the north-east monsoon blows, it is hot and humid. In April and May heavy rains occur with June to October being the coolest and driest period. The lesser rains fall in November. Temperatures sway between 25 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius and annual rainfall is about 20mm.
Baggage allowance: Baggage is restricted to 15kg per person on the domestic flights within East Africa. Soft-sided luggage or duffels are preferable to hard luggage for storage on safari vehicles and on aircraft used within Africa. Large suitcases of dimensions greater than 24″ x 17″x 7″ are impossible to store in vehicles and on aircraft and should not be used. (Baggage and personal effects are at owner’s risk throughout the tour and baggage insurance for members is strongly recommended).
Shopping Trips: Driver/Guides will only stop at the shops/curios stall, which are recommended by Gecko Adventure. We provide escort at no extra cost to accompany guests on shopping trips so as to help with recommendation and save.

*Gecko Adventure cannot be held responsible should airlines discontinue flights on certain routings or change scheduled timetables resulting in missed connections etc. Should an amendment in a routing or itinerary be necessary we will requite you accordingly.
*Please advise take precautions against malaria prior to the commencement of their holiday. We recommend they contact your pharmacist for advice as to which prophylactic is recommended.
Force Majeure
The Company cannot accept any liability or pay any compensation in respect to delays or lack of performance affected by ‘force majeure’.
Force Majeure means any event which the Company has no control over and even in circumstances where all due care was taken the event could not have been avoided or foreseen. This includes events such as war, or threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside the Company’s control.
Insurance – you are strongly advised to take out adequate insurance against all risks for an adequate sum. The Company does not undertake to provide medical care (except to call in the flying doctors transfer service in Kenya and Tanzania) and the Company does not accept liability for any inadequate care provided.
Children Policy – Children under the age of 12 sharing a room with two adults generally pay 50% – 70% of the rate quoted except on air, rail, safaris, adventure programmes or balloon safaris. Children under 7 are not permitted in any tree hotels and most tented camps. Some wildlife lodges and tented camps accommodate a maximum of 2 persons. Other restrictions may apply from time to time. Children rates are available on request.
Law – The Company’s contract will be governed by and constructed in accordance with the law of Tanzania. Accordingly each party irrevocably submits to the jurisdiction of the Tanzania courts to settle any dispute or matter arising under this contract.
