Tour program

Day 1

Arriver au Cap

In the evening you fly to Cape Town, the mother city of South Africa.
Our driver will meet you at the airport and drive you to your hotel. After checking in at the hotel, you have the rest of the day to relax. If you feel like it, you can take a walk along the beach promenade. Alternatively, we recommend a visit to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town's lively harbor district with its many lovely restaurants and stores. Experience the special flair and diversity of cultures here. In the evening, our tour guide will get us in the mood for the next few days with a welcome drink on the hotel terrace.
Today we go on a city exploration tour, during which we visit the South Africa Museum. In the Malay district of Bo-Kaap with its colorful houses, we take a look at what the local spice store has to offer and get a taste of the local delicacies. In Woodstock, we visit the coffee roastery. Weather permitting, we take the cable car up Table Mountain and enjoy the fantastic view over Cape Town and Table Bay. (F)
You can use the day for your own explorations. Stroll through the St. Georges pedestrian zone and to Greenmarket Square. Optionally, head to the Cape of Good Hope. On one of the most impressive coastal roads in the world, Chapman's Peak Drive, we drive along the Atlantic Ocean to Hout Bay. Passing through small, charming fishing villages, we finally reach the world-famous Cape Nature Reserve. Here we reach the lighthouse on the 200-metre-high cliffs on foot or by funicular. From the top, we have a fantastic panoramic view over False Bay. We then visit the penguin colony on Boulders Beach. 150 km (F)
Discover the metropolis on your own. For example, it is worth visiting the Zeitz MOCAA Museum, the largest museum of contemporary African art. Optionally, you can take part in an excursion to Cape Town's wine-growing region. The distinctive Cape Dutch architecture gives the houses and wineries in this area a special charm. We visit Paarl with its impressive Afrikaans language monument. On a walk we see the historic center of Stellenbosch, the church of the Rhenish Mission and visit the Stellenbosch Museum in the Governor's House. A wine tasting is of course a must today. During a visit to one of the surrounding wine estates, we will taste the best wines from local winegrowers. 150 km (F)
We leave Cape Town and fly to Johannesburg. Here you will be met by your new tour guide and drive to the province of Mpumalanga. Magnificent landscapes, tribal legends, diverse flora and fascinating wildlife make Mpumalanga a major tourist destination in the country. The area around Witbank is also home to the Ndebele tribe, whose members are known for their colorful clothing and beaded hoops. They paint their houses with strict geometric patterns in bright colors. We make a stop to see for ourselves. Via Belfast and Lydenburg, we arrive in the friendly little town of Ohrigstad. We end the evening in a relaxed atmosphere. How about a sundowner on the terrace? 390 km (F, A)
Off we go on the Panorama Route: the landscapes are characterized by mighty mountains, thundering waterfalls, tranquil lakes and, above all, the spectacular Blyde River Canyon, one of South Africa's greatest natural wonders. We stop at the famous Three Rondavels and Bourke's Luck Potholes viewpoints. The route takes us to Hazyview to our next accommodation, which is situated at one of the gates of the famous Kruger National Park. 150 km (F, A)
After breakfast, we set off with experienced rangers on a full-day game drive in an open off-road vehicle through the Kruger National Park. Here we experience the diverse flora and fauna up close. We have our cameras ready. With a bit of luck, we may spot members of the "Big Five": lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino! 50 km (F, A)
After a leisurely breakfast, we drive back to Johannesburg. On the way, make a quick stop at a typical farm stall offering produce from the surrounding farms, then check into your hotel, which is not far from the airport. 390 km (F)
In the morning, take the hotel bus to the airport and fly from Johannesburg to Mauritius. You will arrive on the island in the afternoon and then drive to your hotel. You can spend the next few days as you wish. (F, A)
Enjoy dreamlike days in a paradisiacal landscape with exotic flora and fauna. White, palm-fringed sandy beaches await you, lapped by the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Relax and unwind or take part in the numerous sporting activities. (F, A)
Today it's time to say goodbye to the island paradise. You drive to the airport and fly back to Germany. (F) Flight schedule, hotel and program are subject to change. (F=breakfast, A=dinner)
