Itinéraire

Vivez en harmonie avec la nature dans une réserve exclusive et participez aux efforts de protection des animaux de la région du parc national Kruger. Rencontrez des défenseurs de l'environnement qui œuvrent à la protection des espèces menacées et approchez de près une variété d'animaux sauvages comme la plupart des voyageurs n'en ont jamais fait l'expérience. Allez au-delà de l'expérience normale d'un safari et participez au mouvement de conservation de la faune.


Le parc national Kruger est la plus grande réserve animalière du pays, mais ses habitants sont confrontés à de nombreuses menaces. Les rhinocéros sont braconnés pour leurs cornes, les lions souffrent du virus de l'immunodéficience féline (FIV) et les léopards sont abattus par les fermiers. Cependant, c'est dans cette même région que se déroulent certaines des actions de conservation les plus innovantes au monde. Vous aurez l'occasion de rencontrer des défenseurs de l'environnement inspirants et de contribuer à la protection d'animaux magnifiques tels que les lions, les rhinocéros, les hippopotames et bien d'autres encore.


Lorsque vous ne serez pas en train d'observer les animaux, vous pourrez vous détendre dans notre camp situé sur les rives de la rivière Blyde, à l'intérieur d'une réserve privée. Faites des promenades dans la nature, détendez-vous dans votre lodge au cœur de la brousse, ou contemplez la rivière et profitez de l'une des plus belles observations ornithologiques d'Afrique du Sud.

Day 1

Arrivée à Johannesburg et départ pour le parc national Kruger

Arriving in Johannesburg, you’ll meet your group and begin the journey to our new home in Greater Kruger National Park area. En route, you’ll view an array of natural wonders including God’s Window, Wonder View, the Pinnacle, and the Blyde River Canyon, the world’s largest green canyon. We’ll arrive to the camp in time for a relaxing welcome dinner. (L,D)

Day 2

Awake to the sound of singing birds at your luxury tented camp before embarking on a game drive through Greater Kruger National Park where we’ll learn all about leopards with the Ingwe Leopard Research Project. We’ll learn how to track leopards and wild cats by identifying paw marks and set up camera traps to gather data about animal movements. (B,L,D)


Day 3

After breakfast, we’ll embark on a morning game drive. We’ll also take a nature walk into the bush with an expert naturalist guide, to learn about the local flora and fauna. Keep your eyes peeled for the Little Five: the

elephant shrew, buffalo weaver, leopard tortoise, antlion, and rhino beetle. (B,L,D) 

Day 4

Admirez les emblématiques Big Five lors d'un safari en 4x4

After breakfast, we’ll embark on a morning game drive through the park in search of the Big Five and learn more about the problem of poaching. We will spend the afternoon back at the camp, relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty of our surroundings before an afternoon session on the history, culture, and community you'll visit. End the day with an evening game drive, spotting nocturnal wildlife. (B,L,D)

Day 5

Rencontre avec l'unité anti-braconnage de Kruger

After breakfast, we’ll embark on a truly behind-the-scenes visit to Kruger’s anti-poaching K-9 unit. A visit that is not typically open to tourists, we’ll meet with the rangers and learn all about the issue of poaching. We’ll then meet the dogs that have been specially trained to fend off poachers in the area. This interactive experience will help piece

together the various issues at play which lead to the unfortunate existence of poaching in not just Kruger, but throughout Africa.We’ll return to the camp in the evening for dinner together. (B,L,D)

Day 6

Approchez-vous des éléphants d'Afrique

We’ll spend the morning at an inspiring sanctuary for elephants. Here, you’ll have a chance to talk with conservationists about the threats the African elephants face, what is being done to combat these threats, and

of course, visit with the sanctuaries elephants! In the afternoon, visit Jessica the hippo, one of the most famous of her kind who regularly graces the pages of National Geographic. In the evening, enjoy a glass of wine as the sun goes down over the camp. (B,L,D)

Day 7

Rencontre avec des femmes et des enfants de la région dans le cadre du projet Zingela Ulwelzi

In the morning, visit Moholoholo, a rehabilitation haven for abandoned and injured animals. Learn about the issues they’re tackling and get up close to some of the rare species they are caring for. Later in the afternoon, visit the Zingela Ulwelzi Project, which helps women and children from nearby townships. Meet the staff and see how their

permaculture programs and self-defense workshops are igniting change in the community. (B,L,D)


Day 8

Journée entière de safari dans le parc national Kruger

Today sees us enjoying a full-day epic game drive through the heart of Greater Kruger National Park, home to 147 species of large mammals. Along the way, we’ll meet with park staff to learn more about their

conservation techniques. Return to the lodge in the evening for a relaxing dinner together. (B,L,D)

Day 9

Ramassage des pièges à caméra et dîner d'adieu

Enjoy a relaxing morning at the lodge before heading out on our final game drive together with the team. Along the way, we will pick up the camera traps that we set earlier in the trip and have a chance to see if any

critical wildlife data was collected during our stay. In the evening, enjoy a final Farewell Dinner together! (B,L,D)


Day 10

Jour 10 : Retour au pays

We’ll have a relaxing morning at the lodge before flying to Johannesburg in time to catch your return flight home or continue your travels on one of our post-trip extensions. (B)

Terms and Conditions

Certain portions of the program fee are refundable, depending on the date of the refund request. If a participant chooses to withdraw for any reason prior to the departure, Discover Corps must be notified in writing. The refund will be calculated according to the date in which Discover Corps receives this notification.

Refund Policy

The amount of your refund is based on how far in advance from the start date of the trip you notify us of your cancellation.

More than five months prior, everything is refundable!
Less than five months prior, 75% of program fee is refundable, except non-refundable $30 registration fee. There is no fee to change trip destination or start date.
Less than four months prior, 50% of program fee is refundable, except non-refundable $30 registration fee. $100 fee to change trip destination or start date.
Less than three months prior, 25% of program fee is refundable, except non-refundable $30 registration fee. $395 fee to change trip destination or start date.
Less than two months prior, the program fee is non-refundable.  Changes to trip destination or start date are not possible and will be subject to refund policy.
If the balance has not been paid in full, the above percentages apply to all monies paid at the date of cancellation.

NOTE: Participants who have purchased trip cancellation insurance will be refunded by the insurance company until the departure date of the program.
