Programme du circuit

Day 1

De Machame Gate à Machame Camp

Your journey begins at Machame Gate (1,800 m), where you will register before entering the lush rainforest zone of Kilimanjaro. The trail is scenic and alive with monkeys, birds, and dense vegetation, giving you the first taste of adventure. The hike steadily climbs through mossy forest paths, with occasional clearings revealing glimpses of the peak. After trekking for about 5-7 hours, you will reach Machame Camp (2,835 m), your first stop on the mountain. Accommodation: Machame Camp, a public campsite in Kilimanjaro National Park.

Point de départ

Moshi, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania

Day 2

De Machame Camp à Shira Cave Camp

Leaving the rainforest behind, the trail ascends into heath and moorland, marked by giant heathers and volcanic rock formations. The trek offers increasingly wide views of the Shira Plateau and surrounding ridges as you climb higher. With 4-6 hours of trekking, the air becomes thinner and cooler, preparing you for higher elevations. By afternoon, you will settle into the Shira Cave Camp (3,750 m), an area with stunning views of Kibo Peak. Accommodation: Shira Cave Camp, a public campsite in Kilimanjaro National Park.

Day 3

Du camp de Shira Cave au camp de Barranco en passant par Lava Tower

Today’s route is challenging but crucial for acclimatization, as you ascend to the Lava Tower at 4,600 m. This trek exposes you to higher altitude before descending again, helping your body adjust for summit night. The landscape transforms into alpine desert, with sparse vegetation and dramatic rock formations. After lunch at Lava Tower, you descend to the sheltered valley of Barranco Camp (3,900 m). Accommodation: Barranco Camp, a public campsite in Kilimanjaro National Park.

Day 4

De Barranco Camp à Karanga Camp

After a dramatic night at Barranco, today’s highlight is the thrilling scramble up the Barranco Wall. The climb is fun and non-technical, but it demands balance and patience as you zigzag upward. Once on top, you are rewarded with stunning panoramas of the Karanga Valley and distant glaciers. The hike continues across ridges and valleys before gradually ascending to Karanga Camp (3,995 m). Accommodation: Karanga Camp, a public campsite in Kilimanjaro National Park.

Day 5

De Karanga Camp à Barafu Camp

From Karanga, the trail leads steadily uphill across an alpine desert with sparse vegetation. The oxygen thins further as you approach Barafu, your base camp before summit night. Here you will rest early, mentally preparing for the most challenging part of the climb. Views of Mawenzi Peak and the summit cone of Kibo dominate the skyline throughout. Accommodation: Barafu Camp (4,673 m), a public campsite in Kilimanjaro National Park.

Day 6

Sommet du pic Uhuru, descente au camp Mweka

Rising before midnight, you begin the slow, determined climb to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa. The ascent is steep, cold, and exhausting, but witnessing sunrise over the continent is unforgettable. After celebrating on the summit, you descend to Barafu for rest and then continue down to lower altitudes. The day is long and challenging, but it rewards you with both achievement and relief. Accommodation: Mweka Camp (3,100 m), a public campsite in Kilimanjaro National Park.

Day 7

De Mweka Camp à Mweka Gate - Route vers Moshi

Your final descent winds through the lush rainforest, filled with birdsong and the sound of flowing streams. After a few hours, you arrive at Mweka Gate where you receive your summit certificate. With Kilimanjaro behind you, you drive back to Moshi for a well-deserved rest. The evening offers time to relax, reflect, and enjoy warm hospitality. Accommodation: Kilimanjaro White House Hotel, a budget 2-star lodge in Moshi.

Day 8

Moshi - Arusha au parc national du Tarangire

The adventure continues with a drive from Moshi through Arusha to Tarangire National Park, known for its giant baobab trees and elephant herds. Game drives reveal giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, and predators roaming freely in the savannah. The Tarangire River acts as a lifeline, attracting wildlife and offering spectacular viewing opportunities. With its landscapes and wildlife diversity, Tarangire sets the tone for your safari. Accommodation: Ngedere Lodges & Camps in Tarangire National Park.

Day 9

Mto wa Mbu / Lac Manyara au parc national du Serengeti

After breakfast, you depart via Mto wa Mbu and pass Lake Manyara before heading to the world-famous Serengeti. The vast plains seem endless, alive with wildebeest, zebras, lions, and countless other species. Afternoon game drives provide opportunities to witness predator-prey interactions in the golden savannah light. The Serengeti promises one of the richest wildlife spectacles in Africa. Accommodation: Tumbili Public Campsite in Serengeti National Park.

Day 10

Du Serengeti à la zone de conservation du Ngorongoro

A morning game drive in the Serengeti reveals more chances to spot cheetahs, leopards, and large herds. By midday, you begin your journey to Ngorongoro, passing through Maasai villages and rolling highlands. The drive offers breathtaking views as you climb toward the crater’s rim. Evening relaxation prepares you for the crater exploration ahead. Accommodation: Simba Public Campsite in Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Day 11

Du cratère du Ngorongoro à Arusha

The final day features a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, often called the eighth wonder of the world. The crater floor is a haven for lions, elephants, rhinos, and countless bird species. You will enjoy a half-day game drive with stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife. After lunch, you ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha. Accommodation: Return to Arusha for departure (no overnight lodge specified).
