Day 1

Arrivée à Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Arrival to Garmisch Partenkirchen where you will get your tour package.

You may take the train upwards to the border city of Mittenwald where you will follow the young Isar River out of the mountain. Enjoy the partly wild-green river passing the village of Grün and Wallgau. Along the Sylvenstein reservoir, you will come to the ski resort of Lengries and the cycle trail will start running almost next to the river to city of Bad Tölz with a fantastic market place.

Along the long distance cycle trail Lake Constance – Lake Königssee you will come to famous lake in Bavaria, the Tegernsee. Rich people love this lake and half of Munich is going there on the weekends if they will get a room. The lake is surrounded by mountains and from Gmünd you will have a wonderful view. On the return trail, you will pass a monastery with a beer garden on the right place!

Passing by the former king’s spa resort of Heilbrunn you will come to the famous monastery in the village of Benediktbeuern. This monastery has a long history (1250 years) and part of it are free to visit. Of course they also offer guided tours. Afterwards continue to Lake Kochelsee passing moorlands with a lot of flowers and plants.

The village of Murnau is situated next to the lake Staffelsee and we offer you 2 tours today. Take the train to the Lake Starnberg where you return to Murnau passing the „blue land“ with many little lakes. Or you do a roundtrip cycle tour in the blue land

Cycling through the large moorland around Murnau will be wonderful. Afterwards you will follow the river Loisach back into the mountains. The trail leads you through an alpine pasture like landscape directly into the city of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

After all that biking, you deserve a rest day! Take time to explore Garmisch-Partenkirchen. You could take a train up Mount Zugspitze, which is the highest mountain in Germany. Another option is to take a local boat trip on Lake Eibsee, or walk through the famous Partnach Gorge. Maybe you just want to relax in the spa garden listening to a concert.

Take the train to Munich or book an extra night in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
