Challenging cycling tour is a unique bike vacation in Croatia designed for endurance cyclists and triathletes who are looking for an exciting daily ride in extraordinary surroundings of Dalmatian Archipelago. During the bike tour you will enjoy island hopping between islands Hvar and Brač before the spectacular final ride, the one and only – 1,762-meter high Sveti Jure peak located above the town of Makarska, known as Croatian Mt. Ventoux. This tour offers challenging rides in one of the most beautiful part of Europe and an opportunity to discover this amazing region! On this tour we do cover some stages of Tour of Croatia – international cycling race which is one of the most important sports events in Croatia! During the tour you will have all the best suggestions for culinary highlights of the Mediterranean cuisine, sightseeing of historical and UNESCO sites dating back to Greek, Roman and Venetian times as well as immersing in local lifestyle of Dalmatians!

Day 1

Jour 1 : Découvrez Split et le palais de l'empereur Dioclétien

Welcome to Split, one of the oldest cities on the Mediterranean that holds valuable masterpieces from the late antiquity. Your first day starts with a briefing followed by a ride on Marjan hill, a unique forest area with beautiful roads for cycling. Marjan hill is the best location to get to know the bike and for fine tuning. In the evening stroll down the alleys of Diocletian's Palace, dance on Peristil square and enjoy some great Mediterranean food.

Start early this morning and mingle among the locals on the fish and green markets that are open for citizens of Split and visitors every day of the year. Today’s bike ride takes you to towards the east side of town. Ride along the best beach in town, visit historical village Stobreč and climb Mosor hill. Enjoy scenic views from the top of the Mosor hill and beautiful nature along the quite roads. After descending to Stobreč return to Split.

Start the day with a ride on the morning ferry to the island of Hvar. Today you are visiting Hvar town. After few warm-up kilometres start with a climb along sleepy villages and the famous lavender fields of Hvar. Great views and fascinating stone pile walls will accompany you during the climb. Once you descend to the south side of the island, cycle to Hvar town and check out its Renaissance town square, where we suggest having a coffee and lunch. Explore Venetian architecture and buzzling piazza of Hvar town before ride back to Jelsa.

Today you are heading to east part island Hvar. Cycle across the island along villages of Poljica, Zastrazice, Gdinj and Bogomolje until you reach the very east point of Island Hvar, Sućuraj. Enjoy in spectacular views on olive groves, vineyards, mountains and surrounding islands.This is the longest ride on your tour, so be sure to stop for a dip in one of the numerous bays along the way. After the breakfast private boat will take you from Jelsa to Bol on island Brač, one of the most famous summer destinations on the coast mostly because of its unique Zlatni rat (Golden cape) beach. If you want, you can cycle there along 2 km promenade by the seaside. Your main ride starts from Bol with climb continuing to Vidova gora, the highest peak of island Brac (778m) and all Adriatic islands. Today’s ride is the most challenging ride of your tour as you will be conquering the top of the mountain Biokovo, peak sv.Jure. Ride starts from sea level and you have pure 30 km climb with total elevation gain of 1780m. Cycle through Nature park Biokovo and as you climb the serpentines enjoy in spectacular and very unique views on the coastline and all the islands where you have cycled in the previous days.On the top of the climb our driver will pick you up and give you a shuttle to your accommodation in Split.Meals: BRecommended cycling distance: 32 km Destinations visited: Makarska, Nature park Biokovo Accommodation: 3* or 4* B&B in SplitBiokovo final challenge  

Today’s ride is the most challenging ride of your tour as you will be conquering the top of the mountain Biokovo, peak sv.Jure. On the top of the climb our driver will pick you up and give you a shuttle to your accommodation in Split.
