Découvrons les richesses culturelles et naturelles de Madagascar en parcourant la célèbre Route du Sud. Vous visiterez l'environnement mystique du lac Tritriva, les hauts plateaux et le paysage pittoresque de l'extrême ouest malgache, le parc national de Ranomafana : qui abrite une faune et une flore endémiques, y compris le très inhabituel lémurien bambou doré, le parc national de l'Isalo : célèbre pour ses oiseaux en voie de disparition et ses piscines naturelles, et Ifaty : un séjour au bord de la mer, avec un beau temps tout au long de l'année.

Day 1

Jour 1 : Antananarivo

Reception at Ivato Antananarivo airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2

Jour 2 : Antananarivo - Antsirabe (3h45 - 171 km)

Departure for the road towards the South, the RN7. Stop at Ambatolampy, 73km from Antananarivo, to discover the workshops of pots and aluminum kitchen utensils manufacturers. Continuation to Antsirabe. We can admire the beautiful landscapes of the Highlands all along the road : sumptuous valleys, small villages, and rice paddies will fascinate you. Arrival in Antsirabe, the spa town, and the first industrial center of Madagascar. It produces two of the most famous brands of beer in the Island. In the afternoon, visit of the mythical Lake Tritriva, one of the most mysterious places in Madagascar. This ancient crater is a site in which two lovers would have drowned themselves because of forbidden marriage, and then they reincarnate as branches intertwined with two neighboring trees coming out of a bank rock. Overnight at hotel. Included : Breakfast and Dinner

Day 3

Jour 3 : Antsirabe - Ranomafana (6h - 230 km)

Departure towards Ranomafana. All along the road, we will appreciate the beautiful traditional houses, typical of the highlands. Arrival in Ambositra after 2 hours, workshops visit of the most famous Malagasy artisans; their know-how in marquetry and woodcarving better known as "art zafimaniry", are so sublime that one can leave the city of Ambositra only after buying their product as a souvenir. After the lunch, continuation to Ranomafana. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4

Jour 4 : Ranomafana - Fianarantsoa (1h30 - 60km)

In the morning, visit of Ranomafana National Park which is part of the Atsinanana humid forests and therefore, registered in the World Heritage Sites of UNESCO. This tourist site is crossed by 25 rivers and is home to a great diversity of fauna and flora, some of which is the rare golden hapalemur, an endangered species. In the afternoon, continuation to Fianarantsoa. Visit of this city and its monuments, among which about fifty religious édifices. It also gained wide reputation thanks to its vineyards, it is the only producer of wine (white, red, rosé and gray wines) in Madagascar. Overnight at the hotel. Included: Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 5

Jour 5 : Fianarantsoa - Ranohira (6h - 285km)

Continuation of the road towards Ranohira. After 60 km, stop at Ambalavao to visit an Antemoro papermaking workshop which is a local handicraft specialty based on avoha, a fibrous bark. 15km further south, visit of the Anja village reserve which is a park created by the inhabitants of this place rich in biodiversity. We can observe the particular makis catta lemur. Continuation to Ranohira with a fascinating crossing of a new type of landscape, that of the Far West of Madagascar. Overnight at the hotel. Included: Breakfast and Dinner.



Day 6

Jour 6 : Ranohira

Day dedicated to the visit of Isalo national park. This ruiniform massif is a 80 000 ha protected area. It is above all the habitat of numerous species of fauna and flora scattered throughout the reserve. Apart from reptiles and lemurs, 77 species of birds live there, which 70% are endemic. Hiking in the canyons, and swimming in natural pools will also be in the program. For the more athletic, possibility to visit the reserve by bike (optional). Towards the end of the afternoon, admiration of the sunset through the Isalo Window, an opportunity to take some pictures postcard landscape. Overnight at the hotel. Included: Breakfast, Picnic Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 7

Jour 7 : Ranohira - Ifaty (6h - 265km)

Departure to Ifaty. Crossing of the Mahafaly plateau and its many tombs surmounted by Aloalo (carved wooden posts). The Mahafaly tomb is a funerary art with representative drawings of the deceased's life. Appreciation of baobabs in the beautiful scenery of the Great South spectacular landscape, then stop for a visit of Antsokay arboretum which is the perfect place for flora lovers since there are about 900 plant species, which 90% are endemic. Arrival in Ifaty in the afternoon, it is the quintessence of the trip to Madagascar for seaside tourism enthusiasts: sun throughout the year, marvellous beach, quad bike ride by the sea, canoe trip, water sports, ... Overnight at the hotel. Included : Breakfast and Dinner.

Jour 10 : Vol retour de Tuléar à Antananarivo

Transfer to the airport and return flight to Antananarivo. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel. Included: Breakfast and Dinner.

* Domestic flight Tulear - Antananarivo (between 150 euros and 250 euros) is not included in the tour price . You can book the flights on Madagascar Airlines' website using Mastercard or Visa.

Day 11

Jour 11 : Antananarivo - Vol international de retour

Visit of the dike craft market. Transfer to the airport for International Return flight. Included: Breakfast

Article 1 Code of Conduct

Travel is a product that can be detrimental especially to the environment. Thus, in order to promote

responsible tourism in Madagascar, Bio D Island customers pledge to :

 Respect nature :

- Do not leave waste on your path

- Do not smoke in some parks and reserves

- Leave nature as it is

- Do not walk on off paths in parks and reserves

- Do not disturb animals

 Respect local culture

According to Article 4 of the Global Ethics Code of Tourism, “…Tourism policies and activities are

conducted in a way that respects the artistic, archaeological and cultural heritage, which they protect

and pass on to future generations …” and, as a result, we must respect the rites, the “Fady” or

taboos, the sacred places, …

 Follow the instructions of the driver and park guide

Your driver and tour guides in the parks or reserves will give you instructions and advice during the

journey for your safety, but also to respect the rules in some places, so that you can make the most

of the visit.

Article 2 Travel insurance

Our package does not include travel insurance. We urge you to purchase one for your own sake.

Article 3 Payment

At the time of your booking, we ask you to pay 30% of the tour’s total cost as a deposit, and if you

want us to book your domestic flight, its total cost has to be paid and will be non-refundable in the

case of a cancellation.

The balance is due 30 days prior to the trip by bank transfer (transfer fees at your expense)

Article 4 Cancellation by the client

If you have to cancel your trip, the following cancellation fees will apply.

- for more than 90 days before the tour, 5% of the trip’s total price

- 90 to 61 days before the tour, 15% of the trip’s total price

- 60 to 31 days before the tour, 30% of the trip’s total price 

- 30 to 22 days before the tour, 50% of the trip’s total price

- 21 to 15 days before the tour, 75% of the trip’s total price

- For less than 15 days before the tour, 100% of the trip’s total price

Article 5 Modification by the client

For any modification by the client, additional fees will apply

Article 6 Modification or cancellation by the Tour Operator

Bio D Island can decide to change the trip program in the event of force majeure (major harmful

political circumstance, natural disaster, strike, access road not passable, …) If such a case occurs, we

will suggest you other alternatives.

In the worst case scenario, i.e. we have to cancel the whole trip, we will refund you.

Article 7 Travel documents

Before your departure, you have to make sure you have all the required documents

Article 8 Responsibilities and commitments of Bio D Island

As the trip organizer, we are responsible for ensuring the respect of the trip’s program.

We will provide with all the necessary information the clients, so that they can properly prepare their

trip to Madagascar

If the traveller ever has any problem, we commit to help him as much as we can.

Nevertheless, Bio D Island is not responsible for any exceptional circumstances that may occur, due

to the fault of the client or a third party.

We are not liable for any consequence of a force majeure.

We shall have no liability for any cancellation/delay of your flights. In such a case, your complaint has

to be sent to the airline company.

However, we will assist the traveller no matter what the problem is.

Article 9 Litigation

In case of any dispute between both parties, they should try to reach a friendly settlement. If no

amicable solution is arrived at, the litigation is therefore to be resolved by Madagascar court.

Article 10 Validity of these terms and conditions

These terms will be effective immediately upon the signature of the contract by the parties.
