Known as the“Coca-Cola route’’, the Marangu route is the oldest and most well established route. Some prefer this route because the accommodation is in huts, rather than camping. However, it is less private than having your own tent. During low season these huts can be overcrowded. We avoid leading climbers on this route as it does not offer good acclimatization opportunities. As a result, the success rate  is low .

Awaken to the crisp mountain air, ready for a day of invigorating trekking! Today promises a significant journey, as we leave the lush forest behind and ascend into the stark beauty of the alpine zone.

Our trek begins through the familiar embrace of the forest, but soon, the trails will open up, revealing a dramatic shift in scenery. As the terrain transforms, keep your eyes peeled for a breathtaking reward: if the weather permits, you'll be granted a stunning glimpse of Kibo and Mawenzi, the two majestic volcanic peaks that, along with Shira, form the iconic summit of Kilimanjaro.

The sight of these towering peaks, rising against the vast African sky, will fuel your spirit and inspire you for the journey ahead. The alpine landscape, with its rugged beauty and panoramic views, offers a unique and captivating experience.

As evening approaches, we'll arrive at Horombo Hut, our haven for the night. Settle in for a delicious dinner, sharing stories and camaraderie with your fellow trekkers. Let the tranquility of the mountain and the anticipation of tomorrow's adventures lull you into a peaceful slumber.

Overnight at Horombo Hut, a place where the grandeur of Kilimanjaro unfolds before your eyes.

Prepare for a day of otherworldly landscapes and strategic acclimatization! Today, we ascend towards Kibo Hut, a gradual but significant climb that will take us into the stark, lunar-like desert of the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo.

This seven-hour trek, carefully paced to ensure optimal acclimatization, will lead us through a landscape of volcanic rock and sparse vegetation, a testament to the raw beauty of Kilimanjaro's high-altitude environment.

Upon reaching Kibo Hut, a comfortable haven amidst this rugged terrain, we'll settle in for the night. Please note that there is no running water at Kibo Hut, adding to the sense of remote adventure.

The remainder of the day is dedicated to rest and relaxation, a crucial component of preparing for the challenging summit push that awaits. We'll conserve our energy, hydrate, and mentally prepare for the pre-dawn ascent. As the sun sets, casting long shadows across the lunar landscape, we'll enjoy an early dinner and settle in for a well-deserved sleep, knowing that the summit awaits.

Overnight at Kibo Hut, a staging ground for the final, triumphant climb.

In the profound stillness of the Kilimanjaro night, moments before midnight, we awaken to embark on the ultimate challenge. The darkness is our companion as we begin a steep ascent, navigating loose volcanic scree with well-graded zigzags. A slow, steady pace will guide us towards the rim of the main crater, reaching Gilman's Point and Stella Point.

Here, we pause to witness a spectacle of unparalleled beauty: the sunrise over Mawenzi Peak, painting the sky with vibrant hues. A moment of awe and inspiration fuels our determination for the final push.

We continue our trek, a gradual one-hour round trip along the crater rim, leading us to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters. Standing atop the roof of the continent, we savor the triumph, the breathtaking panoramic views a testament to our perseverance.

The descent to Kibo Hut is remarkably swift, a rush of adrenaline and accomplishment propelling us downward. After a brief refreshment break at Kibo Hut, we continue our journey to Horombo Hut, where a warm meal and a restful night await. Let the memories of your summit success and the breathtaking views linger as you descend, carrying with you the pride of having reached the highest point in Africa.

Overnight at Horombo Hut, a haven of accomplishment and rest.

Today marks the final leg of your Kilimanjaro adventure, a day of joyful descent and a return to the vibrant energy of Arusha. After a hearty breakfast at Horombo Hut, we begin our journey down the mountain, retracing our steps through the diverse landscapes that have become so familiar.

The descent is a time for reflection, a chance to savor the memories created during your climb. As we traverse the moorlands and descend back into the lush rainforest, the air is filled with a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie.

We arrive at Marangu Gate, the official end of our Kilimanjaro trek. Here, you'll receive your well-earned summit certificates, a tangible reminder of your extraordinary achievement. The atmosphere is one of celebration, as you share stories and farewells with your fellow trekkers and the incredible crew who supported you throughout your journey.

With certificates in hand and hearts full of memories, we board our vehicle for the comfortable drive back to Arusha. As the majestic silhouette of Kilimanjaro fades into the distance, you'll carry with you the profound sense of accomplishment and the enduring beauty of the mountain. Arriving in Arusha, you'll be dropped off at your accommodation, ready to relax and reflect on your unforgettable Kilimanjaro experience.
