Jour 1 : Voyage à Lyon par vos propres moyens
Jour 2 : Chalon-sur-Saône - Mâcon
Free time to discover the city on your own. Chalon-sur-Saône is a town with a rich history, cultural diversity and economic importance that attracts both locals and visitors with its charming old town, historical significance and vibrant culture. Today you can take part in an excursion as part of the Burgundy excursion package with a visit to Beaune and a tour of the famous Hôtel-Dieu. You will continue your journey to Mâcon at around 18:00.
Jour 3 : Mâcon - Belleville - Trévoux
After breakfast, you have the option of exploring Mâcon on your own or taking part in the Cluny Monastery excursion (optional, bookable on site for an extra charge). Here you have the opportunity to learn more about the history of Cluny Abbey. An important historical and cultural monument that played a central role in the development of medieval monasticism and religious reforms. Despite the destruction during the French Revolution, it remains a fascinating place that illustrates the size and influence of the abbey in the Middle Ages. At around 12:00 noon, we head towards Belleville. Take part in the Beaujolais excursion with wine tasting (optionally bookable on site for an extra charge). This excursion to Belleville offers an excellent opportunity to discover the region and its wines. The mixture of fine wine, picturesque landscape and rich culture makes this experience particularly appealing. Guests who do not take part in the excursion will continue their journey to Trévoux at around 15:00. The excursion participants return on board in Trévoux. This historic town on the banks of the Saône is characterized by medieval ruins and baroque architecture. As the former capital of the Principality of Dombes, it offers a rich cultural and architectural diversity. At around 19:00 you set course for Vivers
Jour 4 : Viviers
Time for your own explorations. Join us on our trip to the Ardèche Gorge (optionally bookable on site for an extra charge), one of the most impressive natural sites in France. The gorge is known for its steep rock faces, which rise up to 300 m high in some places. There are prehistoric sites and cave paintings near the Ardèche Gorge that indicate a long history of human settlement. These cultural remains contribute to the historical significance of the region. You leave Viviers at around 18:30 and set course for Arles.
Jour 5 : Arles - Avignon
Today you have the opportunity to explore the extraordinary Camargue and visit a bull farm (optional, bookable on site for an extra charge). The
landscape of the Camargue is characterized by salt marshes, lagoons, marshland and sand dunes. Alternatively, you can explore Arles on your own or optionally take part in the city tour of Arles as part of the excursion package for an additional charge. Departure from Arles is at approx. 18:00 and arrival in Avignon is scheduled for approx. 22:30.
Jour 6 : Avignon - Châteauneuf-du-Pape
After breakfast, you will have time to explore the city on your own. Avignon is famous for its imposing papal palace and impresses with its well-preserved medieval architecture and historical significance. The lively cultural scene attracts visitors from all over the world. Use the time, for example, to take part in a city tour of Avignon as part of the excursion package (optional, at an extra charge). At around 3:30 pm, you will set off in the direction of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a renowned wine-growing region. Known for its first-class red wines, which are mainly made from Grenache grapes, it offers picturesque vineyards and historic wineries that delight visitors with their wine tradition and charming atmosphere.
Jour 7 : Lyon
You will arrive in Lyon at around 14:00 and have the opportunity to explore the city at your leisure or optionally take part in the city tour/walk as part of the excursion package for an additional charge.
Jour 8 : Débarquement à Lyon
After breakfast, disembarkation by 9 a.m. and departure on your own
