Your private journey begins right at your hotel in Cairo, where your Egyptologist guide and driver will be ready to accompany you to the legendary Pyramid Complex at Giza. There, you’ll stroll through the ancient grounds as your guide brings to life the mysteries of Egyptian religion, the secrets behind how the pyramids were built—and why. Along the way, you’ll also have the chance to capture stunning photographs from the most remarkable vantage points.
At the heart of the site stands the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), the oldest and largest of the three pyramids and the last remaining wonder of the ancient world. Beside it rises the Pyramid of Khafre (Chephren), slightly smaller in size but elevated on higher ground, giving it an imposing silhouette. Completing the trio is the Pyramid of Menkaure, the smallest of the three, notable for its more refined proportions and the remnants of its granite casing.
You will then continue to the Valley Temple of King Khafre, where the enigmatic Great Sphinx awaits — a majestic guardian with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, keeping watch over this timeless funerary landscape.
After the first part of the day spent exploring the wonders of the Giza Plateau, you will move south to Saqqara, the vast necropolis of ancient Memphis and one of Egypt’s richest archaeological zones. At its heart stands the Step Pyramid of Djoser (Zoser), the world’s oldest major stone structure, built during the 3rd Dynasty by the legendary architect Imhotep. This groundbreaking monument marks the transition from mudbrick tombs to monumental stone architecture, setting the stage for all pyramids that followed.
The pyramid itself, originally rising in six distinct steps, was part of an extensive mortuary complex with courtyards, temples, and ceremonial structures, reflecting both religious innovation and architectural genius. Walking here, you experience the beginnings of pyramid construction, centuries before the perfection of the smooth-sided pyramids at Giza. Surrounding the Step Pyramid are mastaba tombs of nobles and officials, their walls still inscribed with scenes of daily life, offering a vivid glimpse into the world of ancient Egypt more than 4,600 years ago.
Afterward, you will be escorted back to your hotel in Cairo.
