- Royal Palace: Start with a visit to the Royal Palace, built in 1866 during the reign of King Norodom. This architectural masterpiece, located along the western banks of the Tonle Sap and Mekong Rivers, features exquisite Khmer design. The complex includes four main compounds, each showcasing unique cultural treasures.
- Silver Pagoda: Next, explore the Silver Pagoda, renowned for its floor covered with 5,329 silver tiles. Inside, admire stunning gold and jeweled Buddha statues and the Angkor Wat-style Bell Tower.
- Wat Phnom: Continue to Wat Phnom, a peaceful temple perched atop a small hill and considered the birthplace of Phnom Penh. Enjoy the serene atmosphere and panoramic views of the surrounding city.
- Independence Monument: Visit the Independence Monument, a landmark symbolizing Cambodia's independence from French colonial rule. Its elegant design and historical importance make it an essential stop.
- Statue of King Father Norodom Sihanouk: The statue of the late king is 4.5 metres tall and is located under a Khmer style stupa, which is 27 metres tall and partially covered in gold leaf and honoring the country’s beloved former king.
Lunch Break: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and take some time to relax before continuing the afternoon tour.
- Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum: After lunch, visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, formerly known as Security Prison 21 (S-21). This sobering site was once a high school transformed into a prison and torture center under the Khmer Rouge regime. Learn about Cambodia's tragic history from 1975 to 1979 through exhibits and survivor stories.
- Wat Ounalom: Discover Wat Ounalom, one of Phnom Penh’s most important Buddhist temples. Explore its historic buildings, learn about its significance in Cambodian culture, and experience its tranquil setting.
- Central Market: Stroll through the bustling Central Market, where you can browse local handicrafts, souvenirs, and fresh produce. Absorb the lively atmosphere of this Art Deco landmark.
- Joint Sunset Cruise: Conclude your day with a relaxing sunset cruise along the Mekong and Tonle Sap Rivers. Enjoy stunning views of Phnom Penh’s skyline and watch the sun set over the city from the boat deck.
Return to Hotel: Your guide and driver will transfer you back to your hotel for an overnight stay in Phnom Penh.
