After departing from your Bogotá hotel, you'll travel to the bus terminal and board a comfortable overnight bus to El Cocuy, arriving the next morning.

Your El Cocuy adventure begins with a traditional breakfast that reflects the region’s flavors. Next, you'll participate in a virtual briefing by the National Parks team to prepare for the natural wonders you'll encounter.

In mid-morning, set out to explore one of El Cocuy’s stunning acclimatization sites. Choose from the Cerro de Mahoma lookout with its panoramic views, the tranquil Laguna de las Lajas, or the culturally rich Cacique de la Montaña ecological trail. Spend 2 to 5 hours hiking through Colombia’s breathtaking landscapes. After your hike, return to your El Cocuy accommodations for a meal and rest, gearing up for the next leg of your journey.

Wake up before dawn and enjoy a hearty breakfast to prepare for a day of adventure. At 4:30 am, you'll drive to the trailhead to start your hike. Depending on your pace, the trek will last 8 to 10 hours through the stunning Valle de Los Frailejones in the páramo, a distinctive high-altitude ecosystem.

As you climb to the Sierra's big lagoon at 4,400 meters above sea level, you'll be greeted by breathtaking landscapes. Continue on to the Púlpito del Diablo, where you'll reach the snow-capped Pan de Azúcar summit, offering panoramic views that seem endless.

Pause for a lunch break on the trail to recharge before descending back to El Cocuy. Upon your return, enjoy a satisfying dinner to cap off your high-altitude adventure before relaxing at your accommodations for a well-deserved rest.

Here, immerse yourself in the soothing, mineral-rich waters while enjoying the tranquil Andean scenery. Afterward, indulge in a delightful lunch in the village, savoring your final moments in this beautiful area.

In the afternoon, begin your journey back to Bogotá. With your guide, you'll travel by bus, reflecting on the remarkable experiences of the past few days. You’ll arrive in Bogotá around 11:00 pm and be transported to your hotel, concluding your adventure with cherished memories.
