Firstly, we will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square situated at heart of Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square was ancient royal palace before unification of great Nepal. The grandiose complex is combination of historical monuments, scriptures and ancient architecture decorated in stone, brick, metal and tiles. The Kumari Ghar (house of virgin living goddesses ), Hanuman Dhoka, giant statute of Kal Bhairabh, the Kasthamandap, a temple made of up a wood of single tree, Ganesh Temple and gallery shops around the courtyard of complex are main attractions of Kathmandu Duabar Square. To hangout around the ancient market in periphery of Durbar Square is best option for exploring the lifestyle of people of Kathmandu and the traditional festival and feast of Newari people happening there.
After cultural, religious and historical discovery of Kathmandu Durbar Square, we move to the hilltop above it The Swoyambhunath is stood making an aerial view of Kathmandu valley. Believed to be self-created temple out of lotus flower amid a lake, Swayambhunath is regarded as holy shrine by Buddhist as well Hindu People. Dome style Stupa with Buddha's eyes on four sides of tower is emblem of symbol of peace and God's supervision to His followers. Also known as the Monkey Temple, Swayambhunath is surrounded by green forest where we can see holy monkeys leaping and clinging here and there.
On the way to Pashupatinath Temple we will stop over one of the famous restaurants for lunch. After having lunch we visit famous Hindu temple Pashupatinath. Pashupatinath is the sacred temple of Hindu people situated at the bank of holy river Bagmati. The medieval complex of Pashupatinath has more than 100 temples dedicated to different deities of Hinduism. The main temple is pagoda style with the golden tower and four silver doors. Giant statue of Nandi (Bull), vehicle of Lord Shiva is positioned in front temple. Though non-Hindus are not allowed to enter main temple, we can cross the Bagmati River and enjoy the backdrop view whole complex and the religious ceremonies taking place there.
After a spiritual visit to Pashupatinath, we visit the largest Stupa of Nepal, Bouddhanath. An exceptional Buddhist shrine decorated with colorful praying flags is peaceful and echoed with soothing Buddhist Mantras. Surrounded by Buddhist pilgrims, visitors and souvenir shops of Tibetan people, roof top restaurants with enchanting view of Bouddhanath and Himalayan peaks against blue sky make your visit worthwhile.
After full day exploration of Kathmandu valley, treasuring memory of historical and cultural city, we drive back to hotel.
