Excursion d'une journée à Katmandou :

(de 9 heures à 16 heures, avec une pause déjeuner entre les deux).


L'excursion d'une journée à Katmandou commence après un copieux petit déjeuner à l'hôtel, où notre guide touristique viendra vous chercher pour une courte promenade en voiture ou à pied (en fonction de la distance de marche).


L'excursion commence au cœur de la ville de Katmandou, autour de l'ancienne place Durbar (palais et cour), un endroit étonnant au cœur de la vie métropolitaine où vous serez au milieu de l'ère médiévale et ancienne des temples et des palais de l'époque Malla à la fin de la période Shah.


Un endroit passionnant pour visiter d'innombrables sites et monuments historiques autour de Kathmandu Durbar Square, des visites de Kumari Ghar (déesse vivante), et du vicieux Kal Bhairab, le dieu singe rouge (Hanuman), y compris des sites de sculptures complexes autour de Kathmandu Durbar Square.


Les bâtiments de la dynastie Malla, qui a régné sur les trois palais de Katmandou, Patan et Bhaktapur dans la vallée de Katmandou, ainsi que le temple de la déesse Taleju (la légende raconte que la déesse a joué aux dés avec le roi Jaya Prakash Malla).


La place Durbar est animée par la vie colorée des marchands ambulants qui vendent des bibelots, des flûtes et d'autres objets artisanaux dans la maison de repos de Kastamandap. La maison de repos est construite à partir du bois d'un seul arbre d'où provient le nom de Katmandou, construit en 1596 par le roi Laxmi Narsingh Malla.



Lieux d'intérêt autour de la place Durbar :


Temple Akash Bhairab :

Connu sous le nom de Blue Bhairab, ce temple à trois niveaux se trouve près du marché principal d'Indra Chowk. L'image divine d'Akash Bhairab est exposée à l'extérieur pendant une semaine, lors du grand festival de l'Indra Jatra.


La célébration de l'Indra Jatra honore Indra, le roi du ciel et le dieu de la pluie.


Hanuman Dhoka :

Siège historique ancestral de la royauté passée, appartenant principalement à la dynastie Malla, Durbar Square, dédié aux souverains royaux Malla, aujourd'hui classé au patrimoine mondial de l'humanité.


Temple de Kumari :

Le temple de Kumari, avec ses maisons quadrangulaires sacrées et son stupa bouddhiste au centre, est un quartier résidentiel de la vierge chaste "déesse vivante" appelée "Kumari". Le bâtiment traditionnel est sculpté avec des balcons en bois et des écrans de fenêtre.


La Kumari, la déesse vivante, accueille les visiteurs depuis la fenêtre centrale du balcon qui lui est réservé et il est strictement interdit de prendre des photos.


Après le Durbar Square, vous vous dirigez vers le célèbre stûpa Syambhunath :

Après une heure de visite autour du Durbar Square, notre guide et notre joyeux chauffeur vous emmènent en périphérie de la ville de Katmandou pour atteindre une petite colline recouverte d'une forêt verdoyante. Le lieu, Swayambhunath, est également connu sous le nom de Monkey Temple (temple des singes) en raison des nombreux singes rhésus qui l'entourent.


Le Stupa de Swayambhunath est un monument ancien et un point de repère célèbre du Népal, dont l'histoire remonterait à plus de 2 600 ans et qui est l'un des plus anciens Stupa / Chaitya bouddhistes du monde.


Le grand Stupa de Swayambhunath est une merveille et une gloire du Népal. Il constitue un excellent point de vue sur toute la ville de Kathamndu qui est couverte de collines verdoyantes.


Ce célèbre stûpa ancien est inscrit au patrimoine mondial de l'humanité. De même, le grand Stupa bouddhiste en forme de dôme est composé d'un hémisphère solide de briques de terre cuite et de terre supportant une corniche de cuivre et de peintures dorées sur les quatre côtés de la spirale. C'est là que les yeux omniscients du Seigneur Bouddha veillent éternellement sur la vallée, faisant la distinction entre le vice et la vertu.


De Swayambhunath, vous visiterez le grand stûpa de Bouddhanath, avec une pause déjeuner :

Après avoir admiré la ville de Katmandou depuis Swayambhunath, un court trajet en voiture vous mène à l'est de la ville, à Bouddhanath, également appelé "petit Tibet" en raison de sa culture et de ses coutumes similaires à celles du peuple tibétain qui réside dans les environs.


Ce grand Stupa, le plus grand sanctuaire bouddhiste d'Asie du Sud, est un ancien Chorten colossal construit au VIe siècle après J.-C. par le roi Man Deb.


Il repose sur une série de trois terrasses que l'on aperçoit à vol d'oiseau. Il a la forme d'une fleur de lotus et reste un objet très sacré pour tous les bouddhistes du monde entier.


Le Stupa connu sous le nom de Chorten / Stupa est entouré d'un marché circulaire avec quatre paires d'yeux de Bouddha donnant un flash étonnant autour des quatre directions cardinales, comme une surveillance diligente des gens et de leurs engagements.


Le Stupa incarne la philosophie authentique de la foi Mahayana du bouddhisme, connue sous le nom de lamaïsme au Népal, au Sikkim, au Ladakh, au Bhoutan et au Tibet.


Vous aurez le temps de déjeuner dans un restaurant en terrasse avec vue sur le grand Stupa de Bouddhanath.


Visite du temple de Pashupatinath :

Après avoir profité de la matinée et du milieu de l'après-midi pour visiter le Durbar Square, Swayambhunath et le Bouddhanath Stupa et avoir déjeuné, un court trajet en voiture vous mènera au temple sacré de Pashupatinath.


Temple hindou sacré en forme de pagode avec un toit doré et des portes en argent richement sculptées, le temple dédié à Lord Shiva se trouve à proximité de la rivière sacrée Bagmati.


L'un des sites les plus sacrés du monde hindou, le temple de Pashupatinath est le centre névralgique du pèlerinage pour des millions d'hindous le jour propice du Shiva-Ratri (anniversaire de la naissance du Seigneur Shiva) vers la mi-février selon le calendrier hindou.


À l'intérieur du temple principal, où seuls les hindous sont autorisés à entrer, les visiteurs non hindous et étrangers peuvent observer le temple depuis la rive est de la rivière Bagmati.


Visite de Patan / Lalitpur :

Après un moment intéressant au temple de Pashupatinath, la route mène au sud de la ville de Katmandou pour entrer dans une autre ville adjacente, Patan ou Lalitpur, qui signifie la ville du grand art et des chefs-d'œuvre de l'artisanat.


Patan ou Lalitpur était autrefois un royaume séparé entre le 6ème et le 17ème siècle. La visite commence par l'ancienne place Durbar de Patan, remplie d'activités traditionnelles locales.


En entrant dans les locaux, vous serez surpris par les bâtiments anciens, un chef-d'œuvre d'architecture aux sculptures complexes, la plupart des monuments étant classés au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO.


Les lieux autour de Patan-Lalitpur sont d'un grand intérêt à visiter pour quelques heures ou une journée entière selon votre temps et vos intérêts, où notre guide expert de la ville vous montrera les merveilles de la culture ancienne et de l'héritage.

Tour begins right from the heart of Kathmandu city around old Durbar Square (Palace and Courtyard), an amazing place within hub of metropolitan life where you will be in the midst of med-vial and ancient era of old temples and palaces of Malla times to late Shah period.


An exciting place to visit uncountable historical sites and monuments around Kathmandu Durbar Square, visits of Kumari Ghar (Living Goddess), and vicious Kal Bhairab, red monkey god (Hanuman), includes intricate carvings sights around Kathmandu Durbar Square.


Buildings of Malla dynasty who ruled three palaces of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur cities within Kathmandu valley.In addition, visit temple of Goddess Taleju (legend story the goddess played dice with King Jaya Prakash Malla).

Akash Bhairab Temple:

Known as Blue Bhairab, three tier temple near main market of Indra Chowk. The divine image of Akash Bhairab is displayed outside for a week-long period, during great festival of Indra Jatra.


The celebration of Indra Jatra honors Indra- the King of Heaven and the God of Rain.


Hanuman Dhoka:

An ancestral historic seat of past royalty, mainly belongs to Malla dynasty, Durbar Square, dedicated to Malla royal sovereigns, today listed as World Heritage Site.


Temple of Kumari:

Temple of Kumari with holy quadrangle houses, a Buddhist Stupa in the center is a residential quarter of Chaste Virgin ‘Living Goddess’ called ‘Kumari’. The traditional building carved with wooden balconies and window screens.


The Kumari the Living Goddess greets visitors from the middle window of the balcony particularly saved for her only and taking photos is strictly prohibited.


After Durbar Square drive to famous old Syambhunath Stupa:

Completing an hour visit around Durbar Square, our guide and cheerful driver takes for short drive, outskirt of Kathmandu city to reach a small hill covered with green patch of forest. The place Swayambhunath is also known as Monkey Temple due to many Rhesus monkeys around.


Swayambhunath Stupa, an ancient monument and famous landmark of Nepal, believed to be more than 2,600 years of history stands as one of world’s oldest Buddhist Stupa / Chaitya.


The Great Stupa of Swayambhunath is a wonder and glory of Nepal.It is an excellent view point  of whole Kathamndu city which is  covered by green hills all-around.


This famous ancient Stupa  is listed in World Heritage Site. Similarly, the large Buddhist dome shaped Stupa is composed of a solid hemisphere of terra – cotta bricks and soil supporting a cornice of copper and gilt with paints on four-sided of the spiral. Where  all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha keeps an eternal watch over the valley distinguishing between vice and virtue.


From Swayambhunath visit large Bouddhanath Stupa with lunch break:

After a grand time with views of Kathmandu city from Swayambhunath, the short drive leads to east of the city at Bouddhanath also called as ‘Little Tibet’ due to similar culture and custom with Tibetans origin people that resides around.


This large Stupa, stands as largest Buddhist shrine of South Asia, the ancient colossal Chorten built in 6th century A.D. by King Man Deb.


It rests on a series of three terraces looking from bird’s eye view. It’s a relevant shape of a lotus flower which indeed remains a very holy object for all world-wide Buddhists devout.


The Stupa known as Chorten / Stupa surrounded by a circular market with four pairs of Buddha’s eyes giving a stunning flash around four cardinal directions, as a diligent watch over the people and their commitments.


The Stupa embraces authentic philosophy of Mahayana faith of Buddhism which is known as Lamaism in Nepal, Sikkim, Ladakh, Bhutan and Tibet.


With time here for lunch break, enjoy meals in a nice terraced restaurant with views of large Bouddhanath Stupa.


Tour of Pashupatinath Temple:

After enjoying morning and mid afternoon with exciting tour of Durbar Square, Swayambhunath and Bouddhanath Stupa and having lunch, a short drive leads nearby to holy temple of Pashupatinath.


A sacred Hindu Temple of pagoda design with gilt roof and richly carved silver doors, the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva closes to holy Bagmati River.

Booking with us:

After going through our norms and conditions you ask for information and queries if in doubt, all trip booking for Nepal destinations should be made by two months earlier minimum of two weeks times, so that we arrange necessary details well in advance to avoid disappointment like hotel-domestic airlines booking and as well chartering bus-coach or booking tourist bus tickets ahead before your arrival.

25% down payment which you can transfer to Bank Account in Kathmandu / Nepal rest of the trip cost to be made on arrival in Kathmandu before trek / tour departures, where applicable foreign currencies accepted like US $ – UK Pounds, and Euro or Chinese / Indian.

For Tibet and Bhutan at least minimum of one month booking ahead to arrange all logistic and entry permits for neighboring countries with 50% in advance.


Booking in Last Hour:

We accept your last hour booking in the eve of trip departure with 100% payment (07 days prior to tour starting date only for Nepal Trips, excluding trips Tibet, Bhutan and India not accepted as this requires at least 3 weeks in advance prior to trip departure for Nepal neighboring countries.

Trips Cancellation Policy:

On booking, some might be compelled to cancel the trip with various reasons from personal / domestic, medical, health, job or with some other situations, in this case where cancellation fees will be applied of 25% as cancellation charge, where you will be notified us or to our overseas agents with minimum of month in advance before trip departure.

60 % cancellation fee applied on 2 weeks to a month notice.

No refund on last minute or no show situation.

If clients has to return or break from the tour, trekking / or any other trips earlier than proposed itinerary days due to medical / physical or personal reasons clients has to borne his / her own expenses on route of trekking and at hotel in Kathmandu or in any other last main cities before you departure for home.

There are no refunds, if the company has to reroute to other areas due to unavoidable circumstances and from bad weather.

If such conditions arise company holds the right and providing you a hassle free adventure holidays with enjoyable time.

Clients’ Responsibility:

A tour / trekking guide representing our company holds all authority during treks and tours. If one behave badly or commit any unlawful act, where you will be compelled to leave the tour / treks. No refund will be made in such condition.

NEPAL VISA & PASSPORT CONDITION:

All clients are requested to have a valid passport with at least six months validity from the return date. Nepal visas can be obtained from the Nepal Consulate or Embassy in your country or upon arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport.  The costs of Nepalese visas are sole / own responsibility of clients.

CANCELLATION & BOOKING CHANGES FOR BHUTAN:

01: Required minimum of 30 days for cancellation notice prior to trip departure and it must be in written form, such notice will be implied from the day the note is received. Cancellation shall be valid after the company approval on receiving the documentation. The Trip shall then be termed as cancelled and then 50% of the trip amount would be deducted from the advance paid as cancellation charge.

02: There will be no refunds if a passenger cancels the trip or leaves a trip for any reason whatsoever, either voluntarily, involuntarily or if you commit any unlawful act after the trip has commenced. We will make no refunds for any meals, accommodation or services not used.

03: On the eve of trip departure if you are prevented in joining the chosen tour, unfortunately there is no refund regarding this, transfer or postponing options are available as the Bhutanese Government has strict Tourism act and policies.

BHUTAN VISAS & PASSPORT CONDITIONS:

All clients requested to have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity from return date. For Bhutan visas you need to send your passport details to Destination Holidays for visa applications at least 45 days prior to the fix departure date.

TIBET CANCELLATION & BOOKING CHANGES:

01: As per the company rules, there will be no refund to clients with less than 20 days notice given to us, on or before Trip departure and if a clients leaves the trip earlier for due to personal or medical reason whatsoever, either voluntarily or involuntarily and if committed any unlawful act after the trip has commenced. Then the company is compelled to make no refunds for any meals, accommodation or services not used.

02: If client require any changes from the chosen original tour, the person who have booked the tour must submit a written document with any changes required. Then we will make every effort after the notification, but the changes cannot be guaranteed.

03: If you are compelled to cancel from travelling on the tour by genuine reason or circumstances, for example (without restriction) due to death, injury or any serious illness of the person, close relative or friends, redundancy or jury service, in this case one may postpone or transfer your booking to another close person, as long or provided they meet all the requirements relating to that trip. You are requested to provide proof of why you were unable to travel at the time and need to change your booking.

NEPAL / TIBET VISAS & PASSPORT CONDITION:

All clients are requested to have a valid passport with at least six months validity from the return date. Nepal visas can be obtained from the Nepal Consulate or Embassy in your country or upon arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport.  The costs of Nepalese visas are sole responsibility of clients.

As you are unable to obtain visas to Tibet you need to send your passport details to Destination Holidays for visa applications to this country, we require this information at least three weeks prior to departure.

HEALTH & FITNESS:

All Treks and Tours requires where one should be in sound health and good level of fitness before signing trip with us, client requires should with your Doctor or Physician regarding your health and fitness before the trip departures to Himalayan destinations.

It’s solely client’s responsibility to inform Eco Holidays Nepal of any pre-existing medical condition or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of your required medical attention, which may affect your capability to travel on the trips booked with us.

CHILDREN:

An authorized guardian by the parents must accompany all travelers under the age of sixteen. If you have any queries regarding age and suitability, please contact us for further information.

PUBLICITY:

Request to allow Eco Holidays Nepal to use pictures, snaps or images of you taken during the trip without being informed and as well without compensation, for company promotion and advertising purpose only through whatever medium takes place.

CHANGES TO YOUR HOLIDAY AND PRICING:

Travelling with us requires a degree of flexibility, positive attitude good humor and understanding where mode of transport, accommodation and itineraries may change, even after the tour has commenced, without prior notice due to local circumstances such as flight delay, cancellation or postponement, road block due to riots and political crises.

WEATHER:

Himalayan regions or other unpredictable circumstances such as land-slides, road blockage, flood, snow, political unrest or delay arrival etc. Eco Holidays Nepal is unable to refund any payment under the above circumstances due to prior supplier arrangements. If possible we will always endeavor to provide you an alternative or substitute trip of same category.

Eco Holidays Nepal does not accept any responsibility for loss on employment, delays or compensation resulting from situations beyond our control.

Our holidays, tour / trek packages, are based on twin share accommodation. Thus, single room supplement charge will be imposed to clients who do not have another tour participant to share accommodation with.

We reserve the right to revise pricing rates posted in our marketing material, under any circumstances, or on the pressure of various external factors that are further than our control, for instance changes in exchange rate, government action etc.

PRIVACY:

In order to gather information from you to make a booking through Eco Holidays Nepal  Destination, may ask many questions to obtain necessary permits etc. No private or personal information that you supply to us when making a booking will be disclosed for any other purposes.

However, the entire program is conducted strictly under the rules and regulation of theirs’ own policies.

Eco Holidays Nepal shall not be responsible for any changes in the itinerary due to unavoidable circumstance such as govt. restriction, Land slide, road blockage, flood, snow political unrest, cancellation of flight, delay, sickness or accident, Any extra cost incurring there of shall be borne by the clients on the spots.

COMPLAINTS:

Should you have a complaint about the trip or tour you must make it known to a tour leader or guide at the earliest opportunity who will take the appropriate action.

Client also should understand that what you might be accustomed to the western affluent countries, Himalayan or Third World and Developing Countries can’t afford such facilities.

Weather is another factor that directly impact on the journey. Hence, patience and positive in mind, enthusiasm and proper preparation before hand is must in taking part around third world countries.

The best thing is to take as it comes and think positively, then you will enjoy the holiday with us.

Travel Insurance:

You must have complete travel insurance package against medical, travel for natural calamity, helicopter evacuation, personal accident, trip cancellation etc. This is strongly suggested to all our respected clients.

Tour Amendment:

To make alterations of any trek / tour itinerary, prior notice is requested.

You are advised to stay in touch with us thus, but occasionally, you may be obliged to do so en route under certain circumstance for instance bad weather etc.

Your personal belongings:

On any account, we are not responsible for any loss or damage of your baggage / luggage or property even when it is shouldered by Eco Holiday Nepal  porters, yaks-ponies or vehicles.

That means your personal possessions; luggage might be at your risk at the times, and however our trip escorts and guides will provide necessary safety precautions that this does not arise while with us.

Papers & Documents:

All necessary documents should be presented in sequence for example to issue visa, obtain necessary permits etc. We are not accountable in case of any trip formality not completed in time before the trip departure on the absence of essential papers and documents.

Risk & Responsibility:

Assuring your complete safety and satisfaction which is our main responsibility and concern, we therefore carry out our service sincerely & earnestly ensuring a hassle free holiday.

Nevertheless, unless stated otherwise, trip may change under uncertain and inherent circumstances such as land-slides, road block, floods, heavy snow, political unrest, cancellation of flight, delay arrival, sickness or accidents etc. Any extra cost incurring there is your personal responsibility and should be borne on the spot.

02: Guided Sightseeing tours in Kathmandu as per trip itinerary with applicable entrance fees and private coach and cars.

03: Twin sharing accommodation at tourist of 3 to 4 or 5 stars standard hotels in Kathmandu on Bed / Breakfast basis (Unless booked for Single Room Supplement) includes other cities with similar standard hotels.

04: Domestic Airfare as per the trip selected and Itinerary.

05: Applicable Trekking / Climbing Peaks / National or Conservation Permit Fees.

06: On full board trekking on Lodge basis with twin sharing accommodation includes all meals (breakfast-lunch and dinner)

07: On Camping services includes twin sharing tents (unless booked for single supplement) with separate kitchen unit backed by cook, kitchen staffs, guides and porters (in some area we use pack animals Yaks or Mules).

08: Private comfortable cars, coach or bus (as per the size of the group) on long driving journeys as per the trip selected.

09: Group Orientation program on do’s and don’ts regarding your trip.

10: International Air Tickets Re-Confirmation.

11: Our guide will have basic First Aid and Medical Kits.

Our Package excludes:

01: International Airfare-Nepal Entry Visa.

02: Personal Travel and Medical Insurance.

03: Expenses of Personal Nature-Gratitude and Meals in Kathmandu and Pokhara as per the program.

04: Personal Trekking / Climbing gear and equipment, down or duvet jackets, sleeping bags. (Sleeping bags and down jackets and climbing equipment can be hired in Kathmandu at reasonable cost if it’s too much to carry from home)

05: Emergency Evacuation if necessary by any means of transportation including Helicopter

and personal medical kit as prescribed by your doctors.

Trek / Tour Grades information:

Leisure tours or walking trips:

For any physically fit of all ages with sound health, these trips involves short walking days of few hours and more of tour with scenic drives at places of interest.  The whole trip goes from 4-5 to 8 days on trek or scenic tour.

On rafting for a day or two days.

Moderate Trips:

For any physically fit of all ages that have done normal walk and with sound health. These trips involves few ups and down and the length of treks will be from 4-5 hours of walk every day with plenty of break in between. The whole trip goes from 2-5 to 8 days.

Adventurous Trips:

For physically fit person of all ages with sound health who have done moderate to vigorous walk or activity before or at present. These kind of treks involves long ups and down and the length of treks will be from 6-7 hours of walk every day with break in between. The whole trip goes from 10 to 20 days in the high altitude. On Rafting it involves river expedition for 7 -10 days.
