Tour program

Day 1

Jour 1 : Arrivée individuelle à Munich

Individual arrival in Munich, rental bike if necessary
Today you turn your back on Munich and head south along the Isar Cycle Path to your destination Bad Tölz. On your way along the Isar, you will pass through numerous towns, including Grünwald, famous for the Bavaria Film Studios, as well as Wolfratshausen and Geretsried. Your overnight stop today, the town of Bad Tölz, benefited early on from its ideal location on the Isar River. At that time, it was used as a traffic stream for rafters and is now a tourist attraction. In 1899, the town became a health resort and has been allowed to call itself "Bad" Tölz ever since. Worth seeing are not only the old town, but also the Marienstift and the chapel of St. Leonhard on the Kalvarienberg with a magnificent view of the Isar Mountains.
From Bad Tölz, the route now continues along the Isar via Lenggries, past the Sylvenstein reservoir. The azure reservoir, surrounded by mountains and forests, comes pretty close to the wild beauty of Canada without exaggerating. A short break here is therefore highly recommended. Strengthened, you continue towards the Achen Pass. Once there, you follow the route always downhill to Kreuth and thus reach the Tegernsee, another gem of Upper Bavaria.
Today's section of the route runs from Gmund am Tegernsee through the small villages of Gasse and Ostin to Hausham. You now follow the Bodensee-Königssee cycle path along the course of the small, romantic Schlierach river to Schliersee. Schliersee is a beautiful lake framed by mountains, whose surrounding villages have lost none of their authentic Bavarian flair over the years. Continuing along the shore, you reach Neuhaus, from where you continue into the hinterland to Fischbachau via Hundham to Sonnenreuth. The next larger village at the foot of the Wendelstein is Bad Feilnbach, today's stage destination.
From Bad Feilnbach, you will continue today on a section of the Lake Constance-Königssee cycle path via Raubling, Neubeuern, Frasdorf, Aschau to Bernau am Chiemsee, the so-called Bavarian Sea. From here you leave the previous cycle path and follow the Chiemsee-Uferradweg in the direction of Chieming, which is located at the north-eastern end of the Chiemsee. If time permits, you should make a detour to Herreninsel or Fraueninsel in the middle of the Chiemsee. After a few more bike kilometers, you will reach your overnight stop in Obing.
Today's route is a section of the famous Mozart Cycle Path, which includes some of the places where the gifted Mozart worked. Pass the monastery Seeon, Hoswäng, Amerang and follow this route to Wasserburg am Inn. Take a short break in the tranquil old town of Wasserburg. To get from Wasserburg to Munich follow the Panoramaweg Isar-Inn. On the Red Bridge, directly above the Inn River, follow the signs. Over gentle hills and large moor areas you will reach Grafing. Along the way, a new perspective of the panorama of the Alps will open up to you again and again. After you have left the forests and glacial moraine landscapes behind you, side roads and bike paths lead you back to the state capital of Munich. The Ludwig Bridge symbolizes the end of the route. Afterwards you cycle from there to your accommodation.
Extend your stay in Munich for further sightseeing or individual journey home
