Le circuit de 8 jours commence à Schärding, où vous pourrez vous promener dans le pittoresque parc du château et chercher l'origine du nom de la célèbre "Wirtshaus zur Bums'n". Saviez-vous que le Danube est le deuxième plus long fleuve d'Europe avec ses 2 857 kilomètres ? Ne vous inquiétez pas, vous n'aurez pas à parcourir une telle distance à vélo. Vous atteignez votre destination à Vienne et pouvez vous laisser séduire par le flair unique de l'une des villes les plus agréables à vivre au monde.
Après avoir quitté Schärding, le prochain point fort vous attend après une courte étape : la ville aux trois rivières de Passau. Conseil : ne manquez pas de flâner dans les jolies ruelles de la vieille ville, car Passau est surnommée la "Venise de la Bavière". Linz a également beaucoup à offrir, notamment une excellente offre artistique et culturelle. Les lieux de culte qui jalonnent la visite ne sont pas en reste. Outre la cathédrale de Passau, qui possède le plus grand orgue du monde, le monastère d'Engelhartzell vous attend avec ses délicieuses créations de liqueurs, ainsi que le monastère de Melk et la basilique Maria Teferl.

Schärding - Haute vallée du Danube env. 55 km
You will cycle along the river Inn to the three river city, Passau. Here, we recommend a short city tour or a visit to the cathedral, where you can listen to the largest church organ in the world. Then, you will continue your journey along the Danube via Obernzell to Engelhartszell (the only Trappist monastery in Austria) and further through the nature reserve Donauleiten.

Haute vallée du Danube - Linz environ 55 km
You reach the Schlögener Schlinge (river bend) on the northern side. Here, the granite has proved to be an insurmountable opponent, forcing the Danube to change direction by 180 degrees. While a ferry takes you (to be paid for on site) to the other bank, you have time to admire this natural phenomenon. According to the motto: "It all begins in Linz", the numerous pubs in the historic old town are the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat.

Linz - Grein environ 55 km
On the fourth day, you will take a little detour away from the course of the Danube to Enns. In Enns, you can go to the town square with its 60 metre town tower, which is the landmark of the oldest town in Austria. Alternatively, you can visit the archaeological collection in the municipal museum Lauriacum. In the beautiful baroque town of Grein you will have the opportunity to get an impression of the oldest still performing city theatre in Austria. Additionally, you can visit the maritime museum or Greinburg castle.

Grein - Wachau environ 65 km
The Strudengau – once feared by the sailors – is now awaiting the cyclists. Where once the currents of the Danube had to be fought against, it is now possible to cycle comfortably along. In Maria Taferl and Melk you can see magnificent churches located high above the Danube, which attract thousands of visitors each year.

Wachau - Traismauer/environs environ 60 km
You will continue your tour to the 1,000-year-old town of Krems. On the way, the monastery Göttweig, located high above the Danube, leads the way to the flowery city of Tulln.

Day 7
Traismauer/environs - Vienne environ 60 km
Your tour ends in the Danube metropolis of Vienna. Don’t forget to visit the “Wurstelprater”, the vibrant entertainment area of Vienna’s Prater and experience its positive mood. In the famous “Schweizerhaus” restaurant you can enjoy a piece of “Stelze” (knuckle of pork), gaining energy for further explorations of the city.
