In the morning, our North-east Vietnam motorbike tour will be started by riding on to dyke roads following Red river to Thac Ba lake. See beautiful countryside, rice, and green tea fields.
Then we turn to the little road to Vu Linh village, where populated by Dzao ethnic minority by the side of Thac Ba lake, very friendly people and the welcome is exceptional.

It’s an easy day. We’ve got more chance for photos in Tan Trao and Cho Chu. Tan Trao Historic Site is a small valley lying between mountains and jungles in Son Duong District. It was used as a resistance base before the August 1945 Revolution. It is also where the Indochina Communist Party first carried out the National Congress (13 August 1945).
At the National Assembly held on August 1945 in Tan Trao, “the great policies of Vietminh were drawn and a temporary government led by Ho Chi Minh was elected”. Cho Chu Monuments prison is on the hill in the neighborhood Chu Cho township, Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province. In 1889 the French occupied the station has built robots. In 1894 they put the agency ruled this area agents. Conducted in 1916 to build prisons until 1945.
Cho Chu Monuments prison, a vivid symbol of the revolutionary soldiers are willing to devote life, sacrifice fighting for independence and freedom of the country.

Take a half day motor ride in the morning, through Ba Be National Park
Ba Be National Park is an abundant bio-reserve area containing the world’s only fresh-water karst lake and several rare species of fauna and flora. Ba Be lake in Vietnam, the biodiverse 10,048 ha park – home to 1,268 species of flora and fauna, a series of caves and a gigantic freshwater lake – was established in 1992 by the Vietnamese Government to preserve forest ecosystems in the northeast.
Ba Be is home to over 3,000 people from the ethnic minorities of Tay, Nung, Dao, and Mong, who live in 13 villages within the park. The Tay people have inhabited Ba Be area for centuries and make up 58 percent of the population within the park’s boundaries.
Ride into Bac Ngoi village, where we have lunch and home-stay. It is located inside Ba Be National Park. Our home-stay in Tay’s family is right by the side of Ba Be lake with a wonderful and peaceful view.
In the afternoon, we take a boat ride on Ba Be lake to the other side, where we can explore Dau Dang waterfall on Nang river.
As one of the 27 ASEAN heritage gardens, Ba Be has the potential to attract nature lovers with its 450 ha natural freshwater lake, and 553 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish.
According to a survey from the Viet Nam Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources, over 11,000 years ago, an earthquake caused a collapse of the subterranean Nang River, creating a natural dam which led to the formation of Ba Be Lake.
Summary:
Take a motor ride though Ba Be National Park, we get out to Cho Ra, and then turn to head up The Cao Bac Pass offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Increasing the pass we see hillsides carpeted with apiaries, Vietnam’s most famous honey-producing areas. We motor ride south-west to Cao Bang and breach several passes on the route in an area hosting huge mountain scenery.

Get out of town, we motorcycle up to Ma Phuc Pass of Cao Bang Province. It is on the way between Cao Bang Town and the Ban Gioc Waterfall. The pass is not famous with the elevation or the danger like some others in Vietnam, but with the natural beauty that one could capture from the top of the pass.
Keep riding to Ban Gioc waterfall, one of Vietnam’s best-known waterfalls. It’s a very scenic spot, marking the border with China, but sees very few visitors. The name Ban Gioc is derived from the Montagnard languages spoken in the area, and is sometimes spelt Ban Doc. The waterfall is the largest, although not the highest, in the country. The vertical drop is 53m, but it has an impressive 300m span; one end of the falls is in China, the other is in Vietnam. The falls have three levels, creating a sort of giant staircase, and there’s enough water any time, most years, to make the trip worthwhile.
Lunch in local restaurant before we get another way back to Quang Uyen. This is the territory of Nung An people. Homestay in a host family and the hostess is a great cook.
This could be the best ride ever.

Continuous our motorbike tour from Quang Uyen to Lang Son on the famous historical Highway 4. Passing Dong Khe town, Battle of Route Coloniale 4.
The Battle of Dong Khe was a major battle of the First Indochina War. The fight began on 15 September 1950 and ended on 18 September with a French defeat. It took place in Dong Khe, in the Province of Tonkin, Vietnam, from September 15 to September 18, 1950, ending with a Viet Minh victory.
Arriving Lang Son at noon. We have a late lunch before time to discover this city which has become a big trading post between China and Vietnam. You can shop for cheap Chinese products at the nearby Dong Kinh market. Overnight in hotel.

Easy day back to Hanoi on the new Highway 1B. You can wake up late or do some more shopping in Dong Kinh market in the morning as we guess you can be tired after long riding days.

The booking information that you provide to us will be passed on only to the relevant suppliers of your travel arrangements or other persons necessary for the provision of your travel arrangements. The information may therefore be provided to public authorities such as customs or immigration if required by them, or as required by law. This applies to any sensitive information that you give to us such as details of any disabilities, or dietary requirements. In making this booking, you consent to this information being passed on to the relevant persons.
2. Payment
In order to guarantee your booking, ideally the deposit 30 % must be paid in advance. The second deposit of 50% must be paid 45 days before departure and fully balance could be paid in USD Cash on arrival.
Payments are to be made according to our invoices only and should be executed by cash, credit card or bank transfer. Any bank charges levied by the sending bank relating to transfers to DNQ Travel must be paid by the Clients.
3. Cancellation or Amendments
Any cancellation or amendment request must be sent in writing and will not take effect until received
3.1 Tour Cancellations by you
Any cancellation after confirmation and deposit, 10% of total cost is applied per person the administrative fee plus other charges by hotels, airlines, and other contractors of DNQ Travel.
If cancellation is made after full payment has been made, we will hold is a full credit to be used for further bookings (less any charges levied by hotels, carriers). And the following rules apply for cancellations:
Cancellation Policy
• Between 65 and 45 before departure: 20% of total tour cost
• Between 44 and 35 days before departure: 30% of total tour cost
• Between 34 and 15 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost
• Between 14 and 7 days before departure: 80% of total tour cost
• 7 days or less before departure: 100% of total tour cost
Notes: Cancellations of Mekong Cruises and Halong Bay Cruises are different basing on the cruise company’s policy, date of booking and price. Kindly get exactly cancellation from our travel consultants when you make a booking with us.
3.2. Cancellations not by you
We are always committed to take our best effort to operate all tours as planned in advance. However, due to factors out of our control it may be necessary to use alternative accommodation and services in some instances. We therefore reserve the right to modify or cancel any tour, accommodation or arrangement at any time. We will notify you as soon as possible of any material changes. In the event of any material modification or cancellation we will, if possible, arrange on your behalf three alternatives:
• services of an equivalent or similar standard, if available;
• any of a lower standard together with a refund of the difference in price;
• cancellation with a full refund of all money paid.
In unexpected cases, we have to cancel the tour no later than 30 days prior to the scheduled departure date, whereupon all money paid by you for tour shall be refunded but no further compensation will be paid. You and DNQ travel agree to release each other from any further obligations which would have been enforceable had the tour not been cancelled.
4. Infant and Child Prices
• Children under 2 years old: Free of charge tour price/ sharing existing bed with parents, 10% Adult’s domestic airfare
• Children from 5 to 7 years old: 50% Adult’s tour price/ sharing existing bed with parents, 75% Adult’s domestic airfare
• Children from 7 to under 11 years old: 75% Adult’s tour price/ sharing existing bed with parents, 75% Adult’s domestic airfare
• Above 11 years old: Charged as adults
Air tickets: Airline child price policy applied
Please note that some suppliers may impose additional fees for infants and children. These will be advised at time of booking.
5. Feedback or Complaints
We wish any of your complaints do not bring back home, so that if you’re not satisfied with any aspect of the services we have arranged on your behalf, please let us know as soon as possible to remedy the problem.
6. Liability & Responsibility
All travel arrangements which we provide or which are sold through us are not an offer by us to sell any travel arrangements, but an invitation to you to make an offer to the suppliers of the arrangements. We are free to accept that offer on behalf of those suppliers or to reject it.
DNQ travel, act solely as a booking agent for the relevant supplier, and as such, have no liability whatsoever to you for any death, personal injury or loss of whatever nature you may suffer unless caused by our own negligence.
