Punto de partida

Athens, Georgia, United States

After a sumptuous breakfast, prepare yourself for an extraordinary city tour, commencing with a photo stop at the illustrious Panathinaiko Stadium, the hallowed ground of the first Olympic Games in 1896, renowned for its exclusive white marble construction. The journey continues past the iconic Zappeion and the Temple of Olympian Zeus, one of the most significant structures of ancient Athens.

You will then traverse the esteemed Athens Trilogy, a majestic collection of neoclassical buildings comprising the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, and the National Library. Continue past the verdant National Garden, Hadrian’s Arch, St. Paul’s Church, the majestic Greek Parliament, and the solemn Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Admire the elegance of Schliemann’s House (Numismatic Museum), the grandeur of the Catholic Cathedral, and the Old Parliament, before arriving at Constitution Square and the Russian Orthodox Church.

The highlight of the day will be your visit to the legendary Acropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the Propylaea, the graceful Temple of Athena Nike, the timeless Parthenon, and the Erechtheion with its enchanting Porch of Maidens. As you ascend this ancient citadel, allow yourself to be transported back to the prosperity of Athens in the 5th century BC.

After exploring the Acropolis, take a delightful short stroll past the Herodion and Dionysos Theatre to the Acropolis Museum. Here, you will skip the lines to uncover a treasure trove of votives, daily life artefacts, archaic statues, and the enchanting Caryatids. Marvel at the Parthenon Hall, complete with its exquisite metopes, pediments, and frieze. Return to your hotel in Athens, having immersed yourself in the rich tapestry of Greece’s classical heritage.

Following an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the port to board a luxurious ferry to the picturesque island of Santorini. Upon your arrival in Santorini, known worldwide for its captivating beauty, you will be escorted to your exquisite hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is yours to indulge in the island’s enchanting atmosphere, with its striking caldera views and iconic white-washed buildings.

Awaken to a delightful breakfast, then prepare for a mesmerising journey on Santorini’s famed boat tour. Embark on a traditional kaiki (wooden boat) and set sail for the volcanic wonders that lie just off the coast. Your first destination is Nea Kameni, where you will visit the active volcanic craters on the island. Nea Kameni, meaning "newly burnt," offers a fascinating opportunity to walk on volcanic soil, with a stop of approximately 1.5 hours to explore the unique landscape (Volcano entrance fees not included).

The cruise continues to Palea Kameni, where the hot springs invite you to indulge in a rejuvenating swim in the naturally warm waters. Your stop here will be about 30 minutes. The next highlight of the day is the charming island of Thirassia, a typical Cycladic village that offers a glimpse into a bygone era, untouched by the trappings of modern tourism. Enjoy approximately 1.5 to 2 hours on Thirassia, where you can delight in traditional Santorini dishes (lunch is not included), swim in the crystal-clear waters, or explore the quaint village of Manolios by donkey. Return to your hotel in Santorini, enriched by the island’s stunning natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Begin your day with a leisurely breakfast, then transfer to the port for your ferry journey to the island of Crete, landing in its vibrant capital, Heraklion. Upon arrival, you will be transported to your opulent hotel, where you can unwind and savour the island’s rich history and culture. Enjoy an evening at leisure, exploring Heraklion’s lively streets and delightful culinary offerings.

After a luxurious breakfast, embark on an enlightening tour of Heraklion, starting with the fascinating Palace of Knossos. Here, explore the ancient Minoan civilisation’s magnificent ruins, dating back over 4,000 years. Marvel at the grandeur of the Throne Room and the vibrant frescoes that adorn this archaeological wonder, illustrating the myths and legends of ancient Crete.

Continue your cultural exploration at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, home to an impressive collection of artefacts that unveil the island’s rich historical tapestry. Discover the heart of Heraklion, Crete’s largest urban centre, where you’ll find a captivating blend of historical landmarks and modern vitality. With its population of approximately 160,000, Heraklion was once a port for the famed city of Knossos and today boasts a wealth of architectural marvels, including fountains, castles, walls, and palaces that testify to its illustrious past. The city offers a delightful mix of cultural experiences and entertainment options, providing a cosmopolitan flair that will leave you enchanted.

Begin your day with a sumptuous breakfast before embarking on a historical excursion to Spinalonga Island. Known for its poignant past as a leper colony, Spinalonga has become a symbol of resilience and intrigue. This guided tour invites you to explore the island’s uninhabited fortress and experience the unique atmosphere that inspired the best-selling novel The Island by Victoria Hislop. Please note that non-EU travellers (and EU citizens aged 25 or over) will require admission to Spinalonga.

Sailing across the azure waters of Mirabello Bay, take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. Visit the charming resort town of Agios Nikolaos, where bustling cafés line the picturesque streets. Enjoy free time exploring the town’s vibrant atmosphere, shopping for unique treasures, or relaxing at the scenic Lake Voulismeni. Your journey also includes a visit to Elounda, known for its luxurious resorts and beautiful beaches. Return to your hotel in Heraklion, filled with the rich history and captivating stories of Spinalonga.

Relish your final breakfast in Greece before checking out of your hotel.
