- Our adventure begins with an early pick-up from your hotel at 4:00 a.m. From there, we’ll take a 3 to 4-hour drive through breathtaking Andean landscapes to the starting point of our trek, where we’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast.
- The trek starts with an ascent to the Pucaccocha Pass, offering stunning views of shimmering mountain lakes and the majestic Ausangate Glacier, one of the most sacred peaks in the Andes. As we hike through the high-altitude grasslands, you’ll have the chance to spot Andean wildlife, including geese, partridges, and lapwings. We’ll pause for a relaxing lunch amidst this serene setting before continuing on our journey.
- By the afternoon, we’ll reach our campsite in Ananta, located at 5,000 meters (16,400 feet). Here, surrounded by towering peaks, you’ll enjoy a warm dinner and a peaceful night under one of the clearest, star-filled skies imaginable.

- We’ll begin the day with an early breakfast to prepare for the trek’s highlight: Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca). Reaching an altitude of 5,200 meters (17,060 feet), the vibrant colors of the mountain and the surrounding rugged landscapes are sure to leave you in awe. You’ll have plenty of time to explore and take stunning photos of this natural wonder.
- From Rainbow Mountain, we’ll continue hiking to the nearby Red Valley, where the dramatic red-hued terrain offers a stark and beautiful contrast to the surrounding Andean peaks. This secluded spot is perfect for soaking in the tranquil beauty of the region.
- After fully enjoying these incredible landscapes, we’ll descend to the trailhead, where we’ll enjoy a well-deserved lunch. Finally, our transport will take you back to Cusco, bringing this unforgettable two-day trek to a close.
