Día 1

San José

Arrival in San José and transfer to the hotel. 5 nights in San José. Standard: Hotel Auténtico (middle class, national category 4 stars). Superior: D Sabana Hotel (upper middle class, national category: 4 stars).

Día 2

Volcán Arenal

You drive to the Arenal volcano, once the most active volcano in Central America! It is located in the plain of San Carlos and is surrounded by a number of picturesque villages. You will also visit the well-known town of Sarchi, where the famous Costa Rican ox carts and other wooden artifacts are made. You will have lunch in La Fortuna and then get to know the various thermal springs at the foot of the volcano up close. After dinner, you will return to San José. (Breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Día 3

Aventura en la selva tropical

The rainforest adventure begins with a drive through the rainforest of Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of Costa Rica's most important nature reserves. This also serves as a natural border between the Caribbean and the Central Valley. You reach Sarapiquí, a beautiful region in the north-east of the country that is known for its natural wealth. Here you board a boat and enjoy a relaxing river cruise. Look out for rainforest animals such as monkeys, iguanas and birds. After the boat trip, you will go on a short hike that will take you to a paradise for nature lovers, hikers and plant enthusiasts. You can admire the ecosystem with its fauna and flora. After a delicious lunch, you will arrive at the famous cable car, where you will learn all the secrets of the forest first-hand on an exclusive tour. As you fly over the treetops, enjoy the magnificent view of the Braulio Carrillo National Park and the private reserve. After a short tour through the butterfly gardens, the orchid and frog exhibition, you will visit the "Sloth Habitat and Care Center", a habitat and care center for sloths. Learn more about sloths and their way of life. After a day full of beautiful impressions, you return to San José. (Breakfast, lunch).

Día 4

Fincas Doka, volcán Poás y cascada de La Paz

Today you will first drive through the city of Alajuela to see the monument to the popular hero Juan Santamaria and the Mango Park. As you make your way to the Poás volcano, you will notice a change in temperature and vegetation. You will encounter coffee plantations and farms with colorful fields of flowers, ferns and strawberries on this trip. On the way, you will visit the Doka coffee plantation. Once there, you will be welcomed with a delicious breakfast before taking a guided tour to learn about the process of growing, harvesting and roasting the golden bean. After the tasting, you will continue to the Poás volcano, where you can admire the impressive main crater with its sulphur fumaroles. After lunch at the La Paz Waterfall Garden, a trail will lead you to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. (Breakfast, lunch).

Día 5

Isla Tortuga

Today's day trip first takes you along the famous "Panamericana" to the port city of Puntarenas, from where you set sail on a catamaran. During your boat trip through the Gulf of Nicoya, you will pass many small idyllic islands. On Isla Tortuga, a beautiful, light-colored sandy beach awaits you, inviting you to relax and sunbathe. You have the option of snorkeling or riding a banana boat (included). A buffet on the beach rounds off this impressive excursion. (breakfast, lunch).

Día 6

San José

After breakfast, transfer to San José airport or start of your connecting stay booked from our program. (Breakfast).
