Itinerario

Andean Path Travel is a 100% local company and legally recognized by Peruvian law.

To reserve a space on any of our tours, the customer must provide his or her personal contact information (at a minimum Full Name, DOB (Date of birth), Nationality, Gender and Identification document type (eg. passport) and Identification document number (eg. Passport number) and complete a deposit payment of 200 USD (see trek pages for further details).

Deposit payments are paid through Paypal, who take a fee of 6%, so the total cost of reserving a space on our trip is 212 USD = 200 USD (Deposit amount) + 6 USD (Paypal fee taken). Banking and payment fees are covered by the traveller. Our email for paypal payments is [email protected]. Deposit payments are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to other travellers, as these deposits are used to purchase tickets, hiking permits for travellers and porters in advance which are linked to specific passport details of travellers and are cannot be changed or refunded to us. Traveller’s also need a scanned copy or photo of each traveller’s passport photo page to complete the reservation process.

Upon receipt of the traveller’s deposit payment, we will send a confirmation email of the transaction ID associated with the payment. We will also provide a trek itinerary and packing lists – travellers should review this document and the website page related to their trek to understand the total list of inclusions and exclusions for each tour. Unless we subsequently receive a response challenging any of the features (eg. price, inclusions, exclusions etc.) of the tour then it is assumed by Andean Path Travel company that the traveller has accepted all terms and conditions. The remainder of the tour fee (ie. Tour fee less deposit paid) is payable in cash USD at the trek briefing that will be scheduled prior to the start of the trip at the traveller’s accommodation. In Peru “damaged” bank notes are not accepted by banks, Therefore we reserve the right to not accept so-called “damaged” bank notes – these include notes with tears, severe wrinkling or markings eg. pen.

The trek briefing is typically scheduled 1 to 2 days prior to the start date of a trek and this is traveller’s opportunities to ask any last questions questions they may have, understand the logistics of the tour fully and hire any equipment they may need as required (eg. walking poles, sleeping bags etc.). We organise and confirm the details of traveller’s trek briefing typically the week prior to the trip start date. We will do whatever we can with the trek briefing time to be flexible with your travel plans, within reason, however for example changes to trek briefing times 24-48 hours prior to the trip start date we may not be possible to accommodate.

While we advise that travellers arrive to Cusco 1 to 2 days prior to the start of their trek to allow for any unforeseen circumstances (for example, cancelled or delayed connections, illness associated with altitude sickness), it is at the traveller’s discretion to abide by this advice. Any cancellations made by the traveller due to whatever circumstance (eg. illness) after deposits have been paid are the traveller’s liability. Travellers are responsible for their own travel insurance to protect themselves of any loss of service due to the aforementioned unforeseen circumstances. Travel insurance should cover at a minimum: baggage loss, accident, emergency air rescue and trip cancellation. Trip cancellation insurance should reimburse you for non-recoverable air or land expenses should you cancel your trip due to personal or family illness, as well as covering any medical or emergency evacuation expenses if you become ill during your trip.

In the case of illness or injury on one of our treks or tours, we are trained to provide emergency first aid and arrange transportation to a proper medical facility. However, we are not responsible for the cost of those transportation services or the cost of medical care.

The traveller is responsible for organising their own travel insurance and specifying any dietary requirements they may have. Travellers are also responsible for providing correct passport information for each traveller and ensuring their Identification documents comply with Peruvian requirements eg. 6 months validity at time of entry to Peru. Travellers will need to bring their original valid passport with them, not a copy or other version. In the event travellers need to renew your passport between the time of paying your deposit and starting their trip, they will need to bring both their old and new passports. If travellers do not provide correct, current and valid information regarding  their passports, then hiking permits and/or other tickets may no longer be valid and may results in an inability to partake in the trek. Andean Path Travel is not responsible for any costs or issues that arise due to invalid or incorrect passport information as specified in this paragraph.

With the exception of the Inca Trail treks, we are generally able to change a trek date, however passengers must pay any costs associated with making this change. Prior to agreeing changes, we will provide the traveller with a breakdown of any costs that will be incurred in order to make the change.

In the very unlikely circumstance that your service is not completed due to a fault of Andean Path Travel, you will receive a full refund (including your deposit). In the event a traveller makes a cancellation 60 days in advance of the trip start date then there is no charge (with the exception of the non-refundable deposit), except any Inca trail treks (2, 4 or 7 day). For Inca trail treks, the deposit is always non-refundable and the traveller will be liable for any other tickets eg. train tickets, entrance tickets etc. that have been purchased in their name. We will always be as accommodating as possible, however we cannot be liable for costs incurred as a result of traveller cancellation. This is again where we advise strongly that travellers check their travel insurance for what instances they are covered for cancellations eg. illness, natural disaster. In the exceptional case that a customer decides to leave once they have started the trek, no refund will be given. The customer must also pay any additional expenses they incur such as food, lodging and transportation. On the last day the customer will be able to rejoin the group and participate in the Machu Picchu tour.

If after the tour has started a client cannot participate in the trek or tour (due to sickness, physical problems, etc.) no refund will be given. The customer must also pay any additional costs they incur for transportation, lodging and food. On the last day the tourist will be able to rejoin the group and participate in the Machu Picchu tour.

In the case of a natural disaster that requires a change in the trek route, but the trek is still completed, there will be no refund.

By accepting these terms and conditions, the traveller agrees to the following disclaimer:

I (the traveller) understand that participating in the scheduled trip with Andean Path Travel may involve strenuous activity. While Andean Path Travel can provide emergency first aid, I understand that it is my responsibility to stop and seek professional medical attention at all times if I am no longer able to continue the trip. Before I engage in a trip with Andean Path Travel I have verified that am fit and healthy to partake in the trip, by seeking medical advice if necessary. I am aware that participating in such a trip has risks and if I incure illness or injury then access to immediate emergency medical facilities (eg. hospitals) may be limited and the delay and travel conditions to accessing such facilities may result in the worsening of any injury or illness incurred.

I acknowledge that I voluntarily wish to participate in my trip, I assume all risks associated with the trip and that Andean Path Travel will not let me participate in any trek without agreeing to these terms. I understand that I am responsible for arranging travel insurance to receive compensation for any trip delay, trip cancellation, illness, injury, death or property damage. I release and discharge Andean Path Travel from any and all claims which I have or may have in the future against Andean Path Travel and its team arising out of or in any way related to my participation in the trip. This includes a release of all claims I may have for wrongful death, injury or property damage. This release will be binding on all of my heirs, successors and assigns.

I allow Andean Path Travel the right to use my name, voice, likeness, and image, including photograph and electronic pictures or video showing or describing my participation in the trip, in any advertising of any type, without payment of any additional consideration.
