Comenzaremos nuestro recorrido en la plaza principal 09 de Julio, el Convento San Bernardo, la construcción religiosa más antigua de Salta, con su portal de algarrobo tallado por aborígenes, una joya del arte salteño. La Iglesia San Francisco con su torre de 53 mts de altura; Construida en 1796, combina detalles ornamentales de los estilos barroco, académico italiano y neoclásico. La Catedral con su fachada enmarcada en un estilo clásico italiano, con frisos y cornisas muy elaborados. , donde descansan los restos del Gral. Martín Miguel de Güemes, referente en Salta de la gesta de la Independencia y, a su vez, el Cabildo donde hoy funciona el Museo Histórico del Norte. Muy cerca se encuentra la Iglesia de San Francisco, uno de los templos católicos más bellos del Norte; construida en 1796, combina detalles ornamentales de los estilos barroco, académico italiano y neoclásico.
Continuando llegamos al cerro de San Bernardo, al pie se levanta el Monumento al General Güemes tallado en piedra extraída del mismo cerro y que culmina con la figura ecuestre del héroe, fundida en bronce. Pasa por la Universidad Católica, Río Vaqueros, arroyo Castellanos, Menor, hasta llegar a San Lorenzo, un pintoresco pueblo de descanso muy apreciado para disfrutar de las vacaciones de verano de los salteños, ubicado en el llamado sector de las Yungas muy cerca del Río San Lorenzo, al noroeste del Valle de Lerma, donde se puede apreciar un interesante paisaje y coloridas estancias así como atractivas casas.
La Quebrada de San Lorenzo es un lugar para apreciar con su alta vegetación que durante el verano se cubre de neblina, típica de la zona de los Yungas. De regreso, visitamos el Mercado Artesanal de Salta.

Saltos del Moconá (Desde Puerto Iguazú)
