Munich - Ammersee - Lake Starnberg - Osterseen - Staffelsee - Kochelsee - Sylvensteinspeicher - Tegernsee - Schliersee - Chiemsee - Wasserburg - Munich. Hardly any body of water remains undiscovered on this bike tour: a small lake marathon is the intensive tour, whose highlights are next to Ammersee and Starnberger See Tegernsee and Schliersee. The Chiemsee should not be missing, of course.

Día 1

Viaje a Múnich

Individual arrival in Munich.
Your first stage starts right in the heart of Munich and runs southwest of the state capital. From here, the Ammersee cycle path first takes you via Germering and Gilching to Weßling until you finally reach Inning am Ammersee, the third largest lake in Bavaria. The municipality of Inning is a popular vacation resort in the Starnberger Fünf-Seen-Land region and therefore ideal for a short stopover. The route continues along the picturesque eastern shore of the lake via Buch and Breitbrunn to your destination for today, Herrsching. Not far from your accommodation today, on the Holy Mountain, lies the oldest place of pilgrimage in Bavaria, Andechs Monastery.
From Herrsching, the route continues to the magnificent Lake Starnberg. The first port of call is Tutzing, on the western shore of Lake Starnberg. A particular highlight here is the museum ship "Tutzing", which houses a cabaret stage and a bistro. Further south, along the lakeshore, lies the romantic village of Seeshaupt, the birthplace and hometown of several well-known artists. The next section of the route stretches along the idyllic Osterseen lakes, past the Riegsee and finally past Murnau am Staffelsee. The Staffelsee is a relatively small lake with a lot of Bavarian romance. The route then continues to the beautiful Kochelsee in the village of Kochel.
From the picturesque Kochelsee and the Loissach, today you cycle along the beautiful scenery of the Alpine chain to Bad Tölz. Use the remaining time here to visit the interesting old town of Tölz with its historic market street. Traditional inns also tempt you with Bavarian specialties.
From Bad Tölz, we travel along the Isar River via Lenggries to the Sylvenstein Reservoir. The azure reservoir, surrounded by mountains and forests, comes pretty close to the wild beauty of Canada without exaggerating. A short break here is therefore highly recommended. Strengthened, you continue towards the Achen Pass. Once there, you follow the route always downhill to Kreuth and thus reach the Tegernsee, another gem of Upper Bavaria.
Today's section of the route runs from Gmund am Tegernsee through the small villages of Gasse and Ostin to Hausham. You now follow the Bodensee-Königssee cycle path along the course of the small, romantic Schlierach river to Schliersee. Schliersee is a beautiful lake framed by mountains, whose surrounding villages have lost none of their authentic Bavarian flair over the years. Continuing along the shore, you reach Neuhaus, from where you continue into the hinterland to Fischbachau via Hundham to Sonnenreuth. The next larger village at the foot of the Wendelstein is Bad Feilnbach, today's stage destination.
From Bad Feilnbach you continue today on a section of the Lake Constance-Königssee cycle path via Raubling, Neubeuern, Frasdorf, Aschau to Bernau am Chiemsee, the so-called Bavarian Sea. From here you leave the existing cycle path and follow the Chiemsee-Uferradweg towards Chieming, which lies at the north-eastern end of Lake Chiemsee. If time permits, you should make a detour to the Herreninsel or Fraueninsel in the middle of the Chiemsee. After a few more kilometers you will reach your overnight stay in Obing.
Today's route is a section of the famous Mozart Cycle Path, which includes some of the places where the gifted Mozart worked. Pass the monastery Seeon, Hoswäng, Amerang and follow this route to Wasserburg am Inn. Take a short break in the tranquil old town of Wasserburg. To get from Wasserburg to Munich follow the Panoramaweg Isar-Inn. On the Red Bridge, directly above the Inn River, follow the signs. Over gentle hills and large moor areas you will reach Grafing. Along the way, a new perspective of the panorama of the Alps will open up to you again and again. After you have left the forests and glacial moraine landscapes behind you, side roads and bike paths lead you back to the state capital of Munich. The Ludwig Bridge symbolizes the end of the route. Afterwards you cycle from there to your accommodation.
Extend your stay in Munich for further sightseeing or an individual journey home.
