Itinerario

La Ruta del Valle de Gokyo es una buena alternativa a la Ruta del Campo Base del Everest, que asciende por el valle al oeste del Everest hasta el pueblo de Gokyo y cinco lagos sagrados en la morrena junto al glaciar Ngozumpa.


Este espectacular ascenso de dos semanas, casi tan alto como el Trekking al Campo Base del Everest, ofrece unas vistas del Everest igual de asombrosas, pero los senderos están menos concurridos y son más tranquilos, con aldeas sherpas tradicionales que sirven comidas locales a legiones de hambrientos excursionistas.


El sendero sigue el río Dudhkoshi hasta su nacimiento, una serie de lagos verde esmeralda. Gokyo es una aldea sherpa que se encuentra junto al mayor de estos lagos. Desde Gokyo subimos a Gokyo Ri (5360 m) para disfrutar de unas vistas de infarto sobre el Everest, el Lhotse, el Cho Oyu y el Makalu, el Cholatse y el Taboche.

Programa del tour

Día 1

Llegada a Katmandú (1300 m/4265 pies)

Llega al Aeropuerto Internacional de Katmandú, donde serás recibido calurosamente por nuestro representante y te registrarás en el hotel. El resto del día es libre para explorar esta histórica y vibrante ciudad. Comidas: NO



Día 2

Aclimatación en Katmandú

Tras el desayuno, saldremos del hotel para hacer una visita turística guiada de día completo de Katmandú, la "ciudad de la gloria". Visitaremos la Plaza Durbar (Palacio), epicentro de la vida religiosa y cultural, una zona repleta de templos antiguos y de importancia histórica con la antigua y gloriosa arquitectura newari. Algunos de los lugares de interés son Kal Bhairav, Hanuman Dhoka, el templo de Taleju, Kasthamandap y Kumari Ghar; hogar de la Diosa Viviente. Después visitaremos la estupa de Swoyambhunath, considerada una de las estupas budistas más antiguas del mundo, situada majestuosamente en lo alto de una colina que domina el valle de Katmandú. Seguimos hacia el templo de Pashupatinath, un templo hindú dedicado al Señor Shiva. Este enorme complejo de templos se asienta a orillas del sagrado río Bagmati. Sólo los hindúes pueden entrar en el patio del templo, mientras que los turistas pueden verlo desde el lado oriental del río Bagmati. Más tarde visitaremos Boudhanath, una estupa budista de la que se dice que es una de las mayores del mundo. Esta enorme estructura se alza con cuatro pares de ojos, cada uno orientado hacia los cuatro puntos cardinales, velando por el recto comportamiento de la humanidad y por la prosperidad humana. Cena de bienvenida por la noche. Comidas: Desayuno, Cena de Bienvenida.



Día 3

Vuelo a Lukla (2800 m/9187 pies); caminata a Phakding (2610 m/8563 pies) 2-3 horas de caminata; 200 m de descenso, 50 m de ascenso

Vuelo temprano por la mañana del aeropuerto internacional de Katmandú al aeropuerto de Lukla y trekking a Phakding. Descendiendo por encima de las tierras de cultivo, pasaremos por las aldeas sherpas de Chheplung, Ghat y Sano y Thulo Gumela y por los santuarios y monasterios de Drangdrak Gompa y Pema Choling Gompa, con impresionantes vistas de la montaña sagrada Kumbila y las cumbres hermanas Kusum Kanguru. Comidas: Desayuno, Comida, Cena

Día 4

Trekking a Namche (3420 m/11221 pies) 5-6 horas/1000 m de ascenso, 100 m de descenso

Dirigiéndonos hacia Namche Bazar, atravesamos la aldea de Zamphute y Tok Tok para ver el deslumbrante Thamserku brillando bajo el sol que nos acompaña todo el camino en la mayor parte de nuestra caminata. Pasando por las pintorescas aldeas sherpas de Benkar, Chumoa y Monjo, llegamos a Utche Choling Gompa en un acantilado que linda con el río Dudhkoshi y más adelante nos abrimos paso entre el acantilado hasta la entrada del Parque Nacional de Sagarmatha, declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. Completando la mitad del camino hasta Namche Bazar, nos dirigimos a la segunda mitad de la marcha que probablemente nos llevará más tiempo debido a la empinada subida del final. Atravesando la última aldea de Jorsale, un empinado sendero escalonado nos conduce a un asombroso puente alto sobre la garganta del río Dudhkoshi y, justo antes de este puente, el Dudhkoshi se encuentra con su afluente, el BhoteKoshi. Comenzando los últimos pasos cuesta arriba lentamente llegamos a las alturas de Namche desde donde podemos tener una primera vista del Monte Everest, asomándonos por encima de la cresta Lhotse-Nuptse y finalmente después de unos 1,5 km llegamos a Namche Bazar. Día 5

Aclimatación en Namche

Tenemos un día de aclimatación en Namche Bazar. Para ayudar a nuestro cuerpo a adaptarse mejor a la gran altitud, podemos dar paseos cortos o subir unos cientos de metros durante el día para echar un vistazo a los pueblos, las casas, los campos en terrazas y las montañas nevadas de Kwangde, el pico Khumbu, Thamserku, Kusum Kanguru y el gran acontecimiento semanal del pueblo, el mercado del sábado, para divertirnos mezclándonos con la multitud y observando a hombres y mujeres con atuendos tradicionales. Comidas: Desayuno, Comida, Cena



Día 6

Senderismo a Phortse Thenga (3680 m/12074 pies) 5 horas

Hoy, el sendero asciende abruptamente fuera del valle a través del bosque de rododendros, el enebro y las grandes coníferas comienzan a aparecer a medida que aumenta la elevación, lo que hace que el trekking sea hermoso en primavera. El sendero pasa por Yak Kharka y asentamientos estivales. Las vistas de Khumbi La y Tawache son magníficas durante todo el día. Comidas: Desayuno, Comida, Cena

Día 7

Senderismo a Machhermo (4410 m/14469 pies) 5 horas

El sendero asciende por una cresta para disfrutar de una vista excelente tanto hacia abajo del valle hasta Kangtega como hacia arriba, hacia Cho Oyu, y desciende hasta un río y vuelve a subir empinado hasta la morrena terminal del glaciar Ngozumpa. Llegaremos a Machherma a primera hora del mediodía. Comidas: Desayuno, Comida, Cena

Día 8

Senderismo a Gokyo (4750 m/15585 pies) 5 horas

Hoy el trekking nos lleva a uno de nuestros destinos finales, Gokyo. Haremos de este campamento nuestra base durante 2 noches, ya que haremos un par de excursiones y visitas turísticas por los alrededores de Gokyo. Comidas: Desayuno, Comida, Cena



Día 9

Explora los alrededores de Gokyo

Pasaremos este día en Gokyo paseando alrededor del lago y caminaremos hacia el norte hasta otros lagos sagrados y regresaremos a Gokyo para pasar la noche. Comidas: Desayuno, Comida, Cena



Día 10

Caminata a Gokyo Ri (5360 m/17586 pies) y regreso a Gokyo 5 horas

Gokyo Ri es el punto culminante del Trekking al valle de Gokyo y constituye un mirador épico para contemplar las vistas de la montaña. Comenzamos la ascensión por la mañana temprano. El camino hacia el pico cruza el arroyo en el extremo norte del pueblo y asciende durante dos horas hasta una cuna de gato de banderas de oración en la cima de la colina. Desde la cima, hay vistas panorámicas del Cho Oyu, el Everest, el Lhotse, el Makalu, el Cholatse y el Taboche, con el glaciar Ngozumpa cortando por delante como un enorme desgarrón en el paisaje. Descenderemos a Gokyo para pasar la noche. Comidas: Desayuno, Comida, Cena



Día 11

Caminata a Dole (4090 m/13419 pies) 6 horas

Siguiendo el mismo sendero hacia abajo, hacemos un descenso hasta Dole. Comidas: Desayuno, Comida, Cena



Día 12

Caminata a Namche vía Khumjung 5 horas

Descenso a Namche Bazaar por el típico pueblo sherpa de Khumjung. Dejando atrás las montañas, nuestro descenso continúa de vuelta a la ciudad de Namche Bazaar.Comidas: Desayuno, Comida, Cena



Día 13

Caminata a Lukla 6 horas

Finalmente regresamos a Lukla siguiendo el río Dudhkoshi, donde termina el trekking. Comidas: Desayuno, Comida, Cena



Día 14

Vuelo de regreso a Katmandú

Desde el aeropuerto de Lukla volaremos de vuelta a Katmandú. Este es un día de ocio que puedes aprovechar para comprar regalos y recuerdos para tus amigos y familiares. Por la noche te invitaremos a unirte a la DESPEDIDA repasando grandes fotos y compartiendo experiencias del viaje. Comidas: Desayuno, Cena de Despedida



Día 15

Vuela de vuelta a casa o prolonga tus vacaciones

Si prefieres quedarte más tiempo, puedes consultarnos sobre excursiones cortas como safaris en parques nacionales, rafting, ciclismo de montaña, viajes al Tíbet, India o Bután, etc. Comidas: Desayuno



Terms and Condition

1. HOW TO BOOK:

Your contract will be with Serene Himalaya Treks and expedition. To book any of our trips, please send the completed booking form along with the copy of your passport and 20% of the total amount as a non refundable booking deposit per person per trip.

2. PAYMENT:

The balance of the trip price is payable on your arrival in Nepal/Tibet/Bhutan/India. If final payment is not received 2 days after your arrival, cancellation conditions will apply as per the clause below. Final trip documentation will be released upon full trip payment.

3. TRIP AMENDMENTS/TRANSFERS:

AMENDMENT: If you wish to make amendments to your trip arrangements, you must notify SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION in writing. Each amendment to your trip arrangements will incur a $30 administration fee and you will be liable for any increase in airfares or operational expenses occasioned by the amendment.

TRANSFER: If you wish to transfer from one tour to another, you must notify SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION in writing. Once SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION receives your notice the transfer will take effect and the following transfer charges will apply:

If your notice is received more than 60 days prior to your original departure date, a $100 transfer fee will apply. In addition, any increase in airfares or operational services will be payable by you: or

If your notice is received within 60 days prior to your original departure date, charges will be as per cancellation clause.

It may not be possible to make any transfers of the bookings within 10 days of departure. Fees for the late changes will vary from a minimum of USD 50 and above per booking, if the changes can be made.

4. CANCELLATIONS:

If you wish to cancel your tour, you must notify Serene Himalaya Treks and Expedition

in writing. Once Serene Himalaya Treks and Expedition

receives your notice, cancellation will take effect subject to the following:

If cancellation takes place more than 60 days prior to your departure date, your full deposit will be forfeited.

If cancellation takes place between 60 and 7 days prior to your departure date, 50% of the tour price will be forfeited.

If cancellation takes place less than 7 days prior to your departure date, 100% of the tour price will be forfeited.

No refunds are made if you voluntarily leave a trip for any reason after the trip starts and refunds will be at the discretion of SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION if you are involuntarily forced to leave a trip for any reason. No refunds will be made for accommodation, transport, sightseeing, meals or any services not used

5. CANCELLATION DUE TO TRIP BOOKING NUMBERS:

Serene Himalaya Treks and Expedition

reserves the right to cancel any trip before it is guaranteed to run. A trip is guaranteed to run once it has two fully paid travelers, unless minimum number stated otherwise. In this case you are entitled to take an alternative trip of the same value without charge or you will be given a full refund of the trip price paid by you. You will not be entitled to claim any additional amounts or seek any compensation for any injury, loss, expenses or damage or for any loss of time or inconvenience which may result from such cancellation. A trip is guaranteed to run once it has two fully paid travelers, unless minimum number stated otherwise.

6. ROUTE CHANGES, POSTPONEMENT, CANCELLATION OR DELAY:

SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION reserves the right to change the route, postpone, cancel or delay the trip due to reasons beyond its control such as natural disasters, flight cancellations, strikes, wars, riots, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, weather conditions etc. In this case SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION will refund the trip price only.

If cancellation takes place more than 60 days prior to your departure date, your full deposit will be forfeited.

If cancellation takes place between 60 and 7 days prior to your departure date, 50% of the tour price will be forfeited.

If cancellation takes place less than 7 days prior to your departure date, 100% of the tour price will be forfeited.

7. INSURANCE:

It is a condition of booking a trip with SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION. Your insurance must include cover for; medical expenses, injury, death, loss of baggage and personal items and cancellation and curtailment, cost of repatriation and evacuation via whatever means necessary including by helicopter/air ambulance. If, in the event of an emergency medical rescue or evacuation from a trip of you the client, either by foot, helicopter or otherwise the responsibility for the payment of such costs will lie with the client. Any subsequent costs incurred for expenses such as hotels, food, transport etc shall be borne by the client. You must ensure that your insurance covers all of the activities you expect to participate in your trip. You must provide evidence to SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION upon your arrival. If you cannot provide the evidence of insurance you will be required to take out a suitable policy at that time. If you are not insured for any reason, you will not be allowed to continue with your trip and will not be entitled to any refund for services not provided.

8. PASSPORTS, VISAS AND IMMIGRATION REQUIREMENTS:

Your specific passport and visa requirements, and other immigration requirements are your responsibility and you should confirm these with the relevant Embassies and/or Consulates. Please ensure your passport is valid for 6 months beyond the duration of the trip. We do not accept any responsibility if you cannot travel because you have not complied with any passport, visa or immigration requirements. In some cases, full and correct passport information is required when a booking is submitted to us in order that we can obtain necessary tickets, permits and visas on your behalf. If you do not supply the appropriate and correct information when you make your booking, we will not be able to make the necessary bookings on your behalf and cannot be held responsible.

9. RESPONSIBILITY:

Your booking is accepted on the understanding that you realise and accept the risks and hazards potentially involved in adventure holidays and that you are mentally and physically capable of undertaking your chosen trip. You must tell us if you have an existing medical condition or disability that might affect your holiday or other group members enjoyment of it, before you book your holiday. If, in our reasonable opinion, your chosen holiday is not suitable for your medical condition or disability we reserve the right to refuse your booking. We reserve the right to cancel the contract if medical problems are discovered and, in this eventuality, we will give a full refund but no compensation. You are responsible for bringing with you the proper clothing and equipment, which we advise you about in our trip information.

10. HEALTH & PHYSICAL FITNESS:

Trips take place in remote areas where there is little or no access to normal medical services or hospital facilities for serious problems. Evacuation, where necessary, can be prolonged, difficult and expensive. Medical and evacuation expenses will be your responsibility. SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION reserves the right in its absolute discretion to refuse a participant the right to participate in a tour on medical or fitness grounds.

11. TRIP LEADER:

SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION nominated trip leaders take their responsibilities seriously and if for any reason a nominated tour leader believes, in his or her absolute discretion, that you should not participate in the tour, before your departure, he/she may exclude you from the tour. In this event, you will be offered the option of taking another tour considered suitable for you or a full refund. If for any reason during a tour the nominated tour leader considers you should not participate further due to you committing an illegal act, or in the opinion of the nominated tour leader, your behaviour is causing or is likely to cause danger, distress or annoyance to others, or your fitness or health is inadequate, he or she may direct you not to continue and you must follow the nominated trip leader's instructions. In this case you will not be entitled to any refund.

12. JURISDICTION:

No employee, representative or agent of SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION other than Company Head or Directors to vary these conditions. This agreement is governed by the laws of the Nepal Government.

13. IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT:

If you have a problem during your holiday, you must inform your trip leader who will endeavour to put things right.

14. PROMOTIONAL IMAGES:

Any likeness or image of you secured or taken on any of our trips may be used by the company without charge in all media (whether now existing or in the invented) for bona fide promotional materials of any kind, such as brochures, website slides, video shows and the internet.
