Tour program

Day 1

Siem Reap Motorcycle Tour to Koh Ker Temple (Approx. 160 km)

Your journey starts in Siem Reap, a city famous for its ancient temples and rich cultural heritage. However, today you’ll leave the hustle and bustle behind, heading northeast on a scenic route toward the remote Koh Ker Temple. The road will first take you through rice fields and small, rural villages. The smooth tarmac gradually transforms into rugged dirt trails, giving you your first taste of the off-road adventure that awaits. As you ride through these more remote areas, you’ll have the opportunity to witness traditional Cambodian life, with farmers working in the fields and children playing along the roadsides.

Upon reaching Koh Ker, explore the pyramid-like structure of the temple, once the capital of the Khmer Empire. The surrounding jungle and isolated location give the site a mystical, untouched atmosphere. After exploring this archaeological wonder, you will stay overnight at a nearby guesthouse, where you’ll enjoy a peaceful evening in this rural setting.

On the second day, you will ride north to the impressive Preah Vihear Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site perched atop a mountain near the Thai-Cambodian border. The route takes you through challenging jungle trails and off-road tracks, with thrilling sections that include steep climbs and muddy paths, perfect for dirt bike enthusiasts.

Once you arrive, explore the ancient Khmer temple, which dates back to the 9th century and boasts breathtaking panoramic views over the plains of Cambodia. The temple’s isolated mountaintop location not only provides a scenic experience but also offers insight into the historical significance of this sacred site. After spending time at the temple, settle into a nearby guesthouse for the night, where you can enjoy a traditional Khmer dinner.

Leaving Preah Vihear behind, today you will head east toward Stung Treng, a quiet riverside town along the Mekong River. This leg of the journey provides a mix of dirt trails and rural roads, offering a great opportunity for off-road adventure. As you ride through lush forests and pass through remote villages, you’ll get a sense of Cambodia’s untouched natural beauty.

Once you arrive in Stung Treng, take some time to explore the local markets, interact with the residents, and enjoy the serene riverside views. This town offers a peaceful escape from the busier parts of Cambodia and is perfect for unwinding after a full day of riding. Stay overnight in a local guesthouse.

Today’s route takes you deeper into Cambodia’s northeastern region, riding to the town of Banlung, known for its natural beauty and eco-tourism opportunities. The ride itself is exciting, with dirt trails winding through dense jungle paths and rural backroads, giving off-road riders a thrilling experience.

In Banlung, explore the stunning Yeak Laom Lake, a volcanic crater lake with crystal-clear water perfect for swimming. The surrounding forest adds to the peacefulness of this location, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers. Banlung is also famous for its numerous waterfalls, such as Cha Ong and Kachanh, both of which are must-see stops. After a day of exploring, relax in a local guesthouse for the evening.

After breakfast, continue your journey southward, riding to the riverside town of Kratie. The route takes you along scenic riverside paths and dirt tracks, providing stunning views of the Mekong River and the surrounding countryside. The off-road sections make this day especially enjoyable for riders seeking adventure.

Kratie is known for its colonial architecture and as the best place in Cambodia to see the rare Irrawaddy dolphins. In the afternoon, take a boat tour to spot these gentle creatures in their natural habitat along the Mekong River. You’ll also have the chance to explore Kratie’s charming riverside streets and local markets. Stay overnight in a guesthouse near the river.

Leave Kratie behind and follow the Mekong River as you ride further south to Kampong Cham, a historic town known for its blend of French colonial architecture and traditional Khmer culture. The route includes a mix of off-road trails, riverside dirt paths, and rural roads, passing through small farming villages and rice fields.

In Kampong Cham, visit the iconic bamboo bridge, which is rebuilt every year by the local community, and explore the town’s temples, including Wat Nokor, a fascinating fusion of ancient and modern religious architecture. Kampong Cham is a great place to relax and immerse yourself in Cambodia’s cultural history. Spend the night in a local guesthouse.

On the final day of your Cambodia Off-road Motorcycle Tour, ride back to Siem Reap, completing the loop. The last stretch of the journey takes you through more of Cambodia’s scenic countryside, with opportunities to stop at local markets or small pagodas along the way. The ride includes a combination of rural roads and scenic backroads, offering a final taste of Cambodia’s diverse landscapes.

Arrive in Siem Reap in the late afternoon, concluding your epic 7-day journey. Reflect on the thrilling off-road challenges, cultural experiences, and breathtaking landscapes you encountered throughout the tour. Enjoy one last evening in Siem Reap before the tour ends.
