Embark on an unforgettable adventure through the heart of the Caucasus with our Grand Georgia Tour. We have designed an itinerary covering Georgia’s most iconic and breathtaking destinations including the majestic Caucasus Mountains, the medieval Svan towers of Ushguli, the scenic Black Sea coast and Kakheti wine valley. We guide you on a journey through Georgia's diverse landscapes, and each day promises new experiences, rich cultural encounters, and breathtaking scenery that will leave you enchanted.

Day 1

Sunday: A Warm Welcome to Georgia

Meeting at Tbilisi or Kutaisi airport and transfer to a hotel in Tbilisi; Check in after 14:00.

Day 2

Monday: Georgia’s Timeless Capitals: Tbilisi and Mtskheta

10:00 - start exploring Tbilisi's old town. Visit Sameba (Trinity) Cathedral, Metekhi Church, and the Bridge of Peace over the Mtkvari River. By cable car, visit Narikala Fortress and the Mother of Georgia statue. Take a walking tour to the Abanotubani district, famous for its Sulphur baths, Clock Tower of Rezo Gabriadze Theatre, and Anchiskhati basilica. Continue to Jvari Church, built at the end of the VI century. From here, enjoy a beautiful panorama of Mtskheta, nestled between peaks and the confluence of two rivers. Drive to Mtskheta, the old capital of Georgia. Take a stroll in the old town and visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Return to Tbilisi.

Overnight in Tbilisi. Meal: breakfast. Tour route: 100 km / 60 miles.

Day 3

Tuesday: Wine Heritage: Signagi - Bodbe - Gremi - Telavi

09:00 - drive to fortified city Signagi, surrounded with a wall and watchtowers. Explore convent of Bodbe, the territory of the monastery offers spectacular views of the land of the best Georgian wines - Alazani Valley with peaks of the Greater Caucasus towering behind it. Continue to Gremi fortress, visit local history museum and experience the unique traditions of the region at local Community TEMI,  where you will have a diner and savor Kakhetian wines crafted in Kvevri in accordance with local customs. Arrive in Telavi, visit Telavi old town and the food market. Check in to hotel.

Overnight in Kakheti province. Meal: breakfast, diner. Tour route: 225 km / 140 miles.

Day 4

Wednesday: A Scenic Day of Fortresses and Mountains: Tsinandali - Alaverdi - Ananuri - Gudauri

10:00 - we will start this day with Tsinandali Estate - well known for its beauty. Prince Alexander Chavchavadze was a poet and a prominent figure in Georgia. In his home you can find an art gallery and a bar, where you can try Tsinandali - the first Georgian wine produced in accordance with the European technology. Next stop is in the Alaverdi Cathedral. Built in the early XI century, it is one of four Great Cathedrals of the country and the highest of the ancient churches of Georgia. Continue towards the Caucasus Mountains, we will make a stop on the bank of the Zhinvali reservoir and visit Ananuri Castle, check in and diner at the hotel.

Overnight in Gudauri. Meal: breakfast, diner. Tour route: 225 km / 140 miles.

Day 5

Thursday: An Adventure Amid Alpine Majesty: Kazbegi - Gergeti - Gori

09:00 - we will follow the old Georgian Military road through Cross Pass, a route steeped in both natural beauty and historical significance. On the way stop at the Friendship monument, our path leads us to Stephantsminda, a quaint town surrounded by the majestic Caucasus Mountains. Here we will drive up to Gergeti mountain and enjoy beautiful panorama from the iconic Trinity Church. After the exploration of Kazbegi area, we'll drive to Gori, immersing ourselves in history at Stalin's birthplace and museum. Check in to hotel.

Overnight in Gori. Meal: breakfast. Tour route: 225 km / 140 miles.

Day 6

Friday: Water-Carved Gorges and Caves: Uplistsikhe – Martvili Canyon – Prometheus Caves - Batumi

09:40 - journey to explore the ancient wonders of Uplistsikhe cave town. Carved into the rock, the city dates back to the Early Iron Age, with its origins tracing to the late second millennium BC. Continue discovering Natural Wanders: Prometheus Cave Natural Monument and Martvili Canyon for a captivating boat trip through its scenic waters. Drive to Batumi and check in to hotel. Free evening in Batumi Boulevard.

Overnight in Batumi. Meal: breakfast. Tour route: 350 km / 220 miles.

Day 7

Saturday: The Pearl of the Black Sea: Batumi and surroundings

09:00 - Walk along the seaside to see the moving statue of Ali and Nino, Georgian Alphabetic Tower, the Chacha fountain, Piazza Square, and Europe Square. Drive to Gonio village, the easternmost outpost of the Roman Empire, and visit Apsaros Fortress. Continue to the Batumi Botanical Garden. Spread over 113 acres, it houses more than 5000 species of plants from all continents. Enjoy about 2 hours of trekking through nine floristic sections. Return to hotel in Batumi.

Overnight in Batumi. Meal: breakfast. Hiking 2 hours. Tour route: 50 km / 30 miles.

Day 8

Sunday: Ascending to Alpine Summits: Batumi - Mestia

09:00 - the journey leads us to the Svaneti region via serpentine mountain roads. A notable stop awaits at the colossal Enguri Dam, among the world's largest. Arrive in Mestia, the historic capital of Svaneti, renowned for its age-old defense towers. Conclude your journey with a visit to the History Museum. This traditional Svanetian house-turned-museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the daily life, architecture, and culture of the Svan people. Explore the interior of this centuries-old structure, admire the characteristic wooden carvings, and learn about the unique history and traditions preserved within its walls. Enjoy a delightful dinner at the hotel.

Overnight in Svaneti province. Meal: breakfast, diner. Tour route: 280 km / 175 miles.

Day 9

Monday: Where Traditions Meet Towering Peaks: Chalaadi Glacier Hiking and Hatsvali Mountain

09:00 - embark on a moderate hike to the Chalaadi Glacier, located at the foot of Mount Chatini. The trail winds through dense forests and runs alongside the fast-flowing Mestiachala River, leading you to the glacier’s edge. Conclude day with a scenic cable car ride to Hatsvali Mountain, showcasing a stunning 360° panorama of Ushba and Tetnuldi Mountains. Return to hotel and dinner.

Overnight in Svaneti province. Meal: breakfast, diner. Hiking 3 hours. Tour route: 50 km / 30 miles.

Day 10

Tuesday: Georgia’s Heartland: Ushguli village and return to Tbilisi

09:00 - drive to Ushguli village (2200 m), the highest mountain settlement in Europe. Stroll among its ancient stone houses and iconic Svan towers, where age-old customs still thrive. Upper Svaneti is a treasure trove of alpine meadows, wild glaciers, and towering peaks, offering a unique glimpse into a bygone era. Visit the 12th-century Lamaria Church, steeped in local legends, and admire the panoramic views of the dramatic mountain landscapes. Then drive to Tbilisi, admiring the changing landscapes as you descend from the highlands. Along the way, stop for lunch and savor the final impressions of Georgia’s cuisine. Upon arrival, settle into your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Alternatively, we can arrange your transfer to Kutaisi or Batumi, if you are taking your return flight from Batumi or Kutaisi Airport.

Day 11

Wednesday: Bon Voyage: Wishing You a Safe Journey Home
