Itinerary

The far north offers the best summer activities in Canada - canoeing, hiking, wildlife viewing, hot springs, flightseeing and watching the Aurora Borealis. During this fun-packed summer program you will travel like a trapper, track like a stampeder - explore like a local.

During a spectactular sightseeing flight above the surrounding area of Whitehorse you’ll have a chance to see the grand landscape of the far north. We’ll take you to explore the rich history of the Yukon during a city tour, watch local wildlife upclose at the Yukon Wildlife Preseve and relax in the soothing hot waters of the local hot springs. Learn how the old tradition of canoeing. Explore the breathtaking mountain scenery of Kluane National Park, a designated World Heritage Site, and enjoy magnificent view points. Set your tracks during a hiking tour among some of the most impressive landscapes.

Day 1

ARRIVAL WHITEHORSE

From the airport we drive you to your hotel located in the centre of Whitehorse. Afternoon is free for sightseeing. Accommodation: Sternwheeler hotel

Day 2

HOT SPRINGS, WILDLIFE AND A BIRDS-EYE-VIEW

We start the day with a sightseeing flight above the spectacular summer scenery on a 30 minutes sightseeing flight. During the flight we can enjoy the yukon scenery from an angle only few people ever will. Back in Whitehorse we will discover the history of the north on a city-sightseeing tour. Whitehorse has a lot to offer and is home to famous sights like the historic Paddlewheeler SS Klondike or a “Skyscraper” completely made out of logs. Later we drive to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve where we can see up close inhabitant game like the Elk, Moose, Caribou, Mountain Goats and Lynx in their natural surrounding. Not far from here we will visit the Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs and endulge ourself in the natural hot waters and relax in a breathtaking mountain setting. Accommodation: Sternwheeler hotel

Day 3

SURROUNDED BY MIGHTY MOUNTAINS

Early morning we drive into the mountains of Kluane National Park. On this tour you will visit the magnificent Kluane National Park, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. We'll explore the scenic Kathleen Lake and enjoy a short hike at the Rock Glacier which bursts a magnificent view across lakes and mountains surrounding Kluane National Park. In Haines Junction we will visit the Da Kų Cultural Centre to learn more about the rich history of Kluane National Park, which is home to the largest non-polar ice field. Day 4

ON HISTORIC WATERWAYS DISCOVER THE YUKON’S GOLD RUSH

Today we’ll learn the old tradition of canoeing. After a detailed safety briefing we’ll get introduced to the art of canoeing and soon we’ll be on our way on historic waterways. On this tour you canoe down the historic Yukon River and enjoy the peaceful scenery. We paddle from Whitehorse to the confluence of the Takhini River. A great day trip for beginner paddlers and a perfect way to enjoy this classic northern river. Back from the canoe trip you can reward yourself with a beer from the famous Yukon Brewery at one of the downtown restaurants. Accommodation: Sternwheeler hotel

Day 5

White Pass Train & Skagway

This tour starts in Whitehorse and we travel along the South Klondike Highway to Fraser, BC, connecting with the world famous narrow gauge White Pass railway over the White Pass Summit and into Skagway, Alaska.

In Skagway you will have the chance to discover the historic downtown, the gateway for many Stampeders on they way to the Klondike Goldfields. Accommodation: Sternwheeler hotel

Day 6

HIKING IN YUKON’S WILDERNESS VISTA

Hiking is one of the best ways to enjoy the tranquility of the Yukon wilderness and to photograph the stunning Yukon landscape. On this tour you’ll get to see some of the most breathtaking views of the Yukon’s landscape and scenery. On this half day hiking tour you’ll get to see the beautiful Miles Canyon and learn about the history of the Gold Rush. We’ll hike a well established trail along the Yukon River and visit the historic site of Canyon City. Accommodation: Sternwheeler hotel

Day 7

WHITEHORSE DEPARTURE

Transfer to the airport. End of services.

PAYMENT PROCEDURES

'Day Tour' bookings: 100% payment of the invoice is required at time of booking.

'Multi-Day Tour' bookings: 25% deposit of the total invoice is required 14 days after the date of confirmation.

'Day Tour' bookings: All invoices must be paid in full prior to tour departure.

'Multi-Day Tour' bookings: All invoices must be paid in full 30 days prior to arrival.

The following cancellation fee schedule applies to all invoices unless otherwise noted in advance. These fees will be noted on our confirmation.

Cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellation fees are based on percentage of the total invoice and based on the date cancellation is receives in our office.

MULTI-DAY TOURS

Anytime after invoicing: 25%

60-45 days prior to departure: 40%

44-30 days prior to departure: 60%

CANCELLATION AND REFUND BY Arctic Range Adventure LTD.:

If the minimum number of participants has not been reached, we reserve the right to cancel a tour up to 14 days prior to start of the tour. You will be notified immediately and you are entitled to a full refund if you are unable to join one of our other departures. If we or our partners are forced to change the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances, like forest fires, floods, breakdowns, all decisions are left to the discretion of the tour guide.

Charter Services & Custom Programs are subject to a deposit and cancellation policy that is different from our standard payment & cancellation policy. We reserve the right to charge additional deposit or full payment at the time of booking. You will be advised at time of exact deposit and cancellation terms.

LIMITATION OF RESPONSIBILITY

Arctic Range Adventure chooses its suppliers (e.g. hotels, carriers and other suppliers providing tour services) with great care. These suppliers are, however, independent contractors and Canadian Arctic Range Adventure cannot be held responsible or liable for their acts or omissions.

For all activity programs (i.e., but not limited to, river rafting, horseback riding, canoeing, hiking, sightseeing etc.) in Canada and USA clients will have to sign a “waiver of liability”. The tour operator and wholesaler is under the obligation to inform the client in time that a waiver of liability has to be signed at the beginning of the program. Arctic Range Adventure will, of course, always do its best to ensure the greatest possible safety for all its clients.

Arctic Range Adventure can also not be held liable for changes in tour itineraries due to weather conditions, acts of God or special conditions beyond our control.

All costs that may result from any delays of passengers at the airport or any delays that might occur at the end of the trip are the responsibility of the client. Arctic Range Adventure cannot be held liable.

Furthermore, Arctic Range Adventure cannot be held liable for the contents of any brochure prepared by a wholesaler or tour operator and any misrepresentation of our tours therein.

Should clients encounter problems during their trip they are required to contact Arctic Range Adventure immediately in order to solve the problem. Should a written account of concern be filed, it has to be sent to Arctic Range Adventure within 4 weeks of completion of trip. Claims received after that date cannot be considered.

An all inclusive accident- and luggage insurance for your tour is very important and highly recommended.
