With a massif of Himalayas in north-central Nepal that includes peaks rising to the elevation of more than eight thousand meters, Annapurna Adventure, also known as the Annapurna Base Camp trek, is one of the packages provided by us which encapsulates the adventure of trekking through the simply wonderful and overtly brilliant landscape of the peaks of our country. Mount Annapurna is the 10th Highest Mountain in the world and trekking to the base camp of this mountain is one of the most famous trekking journeys taken by hikers all over. Passing through the vibrant Lake City of Pokhara with its lagoons and the array of foliages comprehending the coyness of tall cedars and fragrance of sugar and colter pines, the journey of trekking to Annapurna Base Camp is aesthetically pleasing.

Mount Annapurna is bounded by the Kali Gandaki Gorge in the west and the Marshyangdi River on the north and the east, and the entire massif and the surrounding area is protected under Annapurna Conservation Area, the first and largest conservation area in Nepal. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a trekking package that has all the benefits of being able to experience the winsomeness of Mount Annapurna. “Annapurna” literally translates to “Full of food” in Sanskrit and the Mountain peak, heavily covered with gossamer of snowy patina, and is breath-taking! Annapurna Base Camp Trek package allows you to experience this stellar wonder up close and without any hassle, along with other equally radiant mountain ranges of Machhapuchhre, Himchuli, the Lamjung Himal, Fang, Annapurna I, II, III, Annapurna south and Gangapurna.

Annapurna Adventure/Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most preferred treks because of its amiability and the pulchritude of nature you can experience while on the hike. The hike starts from a lower elevation of the Birethanti village set at the junction of Bhurungdi River and Modi River before reaching Tikhe Dhunga, then proceeds to a higher elevation and one can experience the change in the topography and the climate when hiking.

Starting from the buzz of the city, the hike leads us to tranquil and calm villages and verdant rhododendron forests to the opulence of snow-covered vistas. We shall pass through the settlements at Nayapul all the way to Deurali, gaining insights into the lives of the local people and inhabitants and experiencing the culture and tradition of the people from adjacent proximity. The splendid sunrise and the mystical sunset, the change of the color of the sky from a radiant blue to the hues of burning gold at twilight can all be experienced from Ghorepani and Poon Hill as we continue our trek to Annapurna Base Camp. We can soak the wonder of the setting Sun upon the mountains all in; there simply isn’t any word for its hypnotic unusualness.

Tour program

Day 1

Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu.

You may arrive at the airport at anytime. One of escape Himalaya’s representatives will be there waiting for you and will greet and welcome you. You will then be transferred to your hotel and further programs will be explained to you. You may just relax at the hotel after checking in because you do not have anything else planned for the day.

Overnight at the hotel.

A short scenic flight to Pokhara will be taken by you today. Pokhara is a magnificent lake-side city that has gorgeous views of various mountain peaks like Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, five peaks of the Annapurna range, and others. Numerous lakes of Pokhara offer fishing, boating, and swimming- the city itself is popular as the city of lakes. Situated in the center of Nepal and nestled in a region that is brimming with natural beauty, Pokhara is the tourist hub of the country. From Pokhara, you will drive to Nayapul (42km) by car/taxi via the large village of Lumle and will walk for about 20 minutes to the large and prosperous town of Birethanti. The trail follows the main street of Birethanti and goes through bamboo forests and past large waterfalls and swimming holes. Further beyond lies the pastures dotted with pony caravans and mountain goats. As you follow the trail, you would be reaching the village of Ramghai where you will have your lunch. After lunch, you would be moving up the trail that climbs gradually through the side of the valley to reach Tikhe Dhunga.

Overnight at the guesthouse. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are included.

From Tikhe Dhunga, you would be trekking on trails that cross small streams and jovial rivers via suspensions bridges near the camp site at Tikhe Dhunga. The trail ascends a steep stone staircase (which has about 3300 steps) to the large Magar village at Ulleri lying at an altitude of 2080 meters. Above the village, the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields. There is a campsite for rest and water stops one hour’s walk above Ulleri. The trail crosses two sparking streams before making a short, final climb to Nangethanti where you will stop for lunch. “Thanti” is a Nepali word that translated to “Resthouse”. In the winters, the trail is usually covered in snow. From Nangethanti, you will then climb to Ghorepani which lies at the altitude of 2850 meters. From here, you can see spectacular panoramic views of the Dhaulagiri Peak (8167m), the Tukuche Peak (6940m), Annapurna I (8091m), the Hiunchuli Himal (6441m) and the Tarke Kang Himal (7139m).

Overnight at the guesthouse. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are included.

This morning, you will wake up early and hike to Poon Hill. From Poon Hill, you can see superb views of the sunrise amidst the Annapurna Mountains and gorgeous panoramic views of peaks like Dhaulagiri, Fish Tail, the Annapurna South and others. After visiting Poon Hill, you will come back to Ghorepani for a hot breakfast and continue walking to Tadapani.

Overnight at the guesthouse. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are included.

Dropping from Tadapani, the route goes past the Gurung settlement and is adorned with marvelous views of the Upper Modi Valley. The path then starts as a long ascend high above the west bank of the Modi Khola. You will pass the village of Chhomrong that lies tucked at the very base of the Himal Chuli. From Chhomrong, the trail descends reaching the Chhomrong Khola and as you reach the river, you would be required to begin a slow climb as you head to your destination for the day. Sinuwa is a lovely little ethnic village that has amazing views of the mountains and beautiful natural surroundings.

Overnight at the guesthouse. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are included.

You will proceed to Kuldi Ghar today, walking for about 2 and a half to 3 hours. There is a clearing in a forest a little further on from where the route goes very steeply down a bank of rocks and then levels out, running through thickets of bamboo at the bottom of the gorge that keeps on the left side of the river. You will also pass by the pastureland at Tomo and then the very neck of the gorge at Barah has a small trail that passes by a shrine. The tracks then steadily climb up to the Himalayas with the village of Deurali at the intersection.

Overnight at the guesthouse. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are included.

Today, you will be climbing onto the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (which isn’t a Base Camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted) to reach the Annapurna Base Camp. The area is also called the Annapurna Sanctuary since it is surrounded by mountains. From here, it is a two-hour trek to the Annapurna Base Camp which offers spectacular views of the surrounding ivory peaks.

Overnight at the guesthouse. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are included.

You will be following the same trail down today, which drops by 1,700 meters to the banks of the Modi Khola to Bamboo which lies at an altitude of 2,310 meters. Bamboo has a few guesthouses and lodges and offers splendid natural sights. The trail is also adorned with the river’s natural ebullience and offers pretty views of the natural surroundings.

Overnight at the guesthouse. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are included.

Today, you will be on a similar trail that leads to the village of Jhinu Danda. You will come across Sinuwa village and Chhomrong village through rhododendrons and bamboo forests.

After our lunch at Chhomrong, we will hike down to Jhinu Danda From the hot springs at Jhinu Danda, crosswalk the suspension bridge to the jeep station to catch a jeep drive to Pokhara. Two hours of drive to Pokhara is a scenic road adventure back to the city.

Overnight at the hotel. Breakfast and Lunch are included.
