Itinerary

The Everest Base Camp Trek is top-rated in Nepal. It lies in the Khumbu region (Mahalangur Himalayan range). Mt. Everest is the primary attraction of this trek, which is known as Sagarmatha. It is the roof of the world. Everest base camp trekking goes through the diverse forests of the Sagarmatha National Park, the world’s highest national park. 

Right after landing at the tiny airstrip of Lukla, the EBC trek begins. Then you pass different villages and fields. Crossing the suspension bridges, you reach Phakding and continuously to Jorsalle. From here, the national park area begins. Namche Bazaar is a steep ascend from here. Namche and Khumjung are the cultural hot spots. You can explore the unique Sherpa culture and their heritage sites around here. There are wonderful monasteries in Pangboche and Tenbuche too. Sherpa are the renowned Himalayan leaders who have unique cultural pattern, garments, festivals and religiosity. Spending a rest day at Dingbuche, you trek all the way to Everest base camp via Gorakshep. The following day, you trek to Kalapatthar descend all the way to Lukla and end the trek. During the trek, you will get an opportunity to view the Himalayas including Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Ama Dablam and the surrounding white peaks along with trekking peaks. The views of flora and fauna add more attractions for the epic journey to Everest base camp.

Day 1

Arrive in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,429 feet

At Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative of Frolic Adventure will pick you up by private transport and take you to the hotel. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 2

Full-Day Heritage Tour in Kathmandu

You will have a full-day city tour of Kathmandu, visiting cultural heritage sites with an expert tour guide and private transportation. You will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath, and Bouddhanath. The guide will give you much information about the sites, their history, culture, art, and architecture, and we will drive back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel. 

Day 3

Fly in to Lukla (2,840m/9,17 feet) and trek to Phakding (2,610m/8,562 feet) 3 hrs

You will take the flight to Lukla early in the morning. After flying above the breathtaking green and white mountains, you will reach Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. This is one of the most beautiful air routes in the world, and it culminates in a landing on a hillside surrounded by high mountains. Upon your arrival at Lukla, you meet our other crew members, and after some packing and arrangements, you start the trek through the prosperous village of Lukla until you reach Phakding. You only have a short hike today. Overnight at guest house. 

Day 4

Trak from Phakding to Namche Bazar (3,440m/11,286 feet) 7 hrs

After breakfast at Phakding, you walk through beautiful pine forests and along the Dudh Koshi River, ending your nature-filled journey at Namche Bazaar. After walking for almost an hour, you come across the glistening Mt. Thamserku (6,608m) on your right and experience the serenity of pine, fir, and juniper forests throughout your journey. If the weather is clear, you may even glimpse Mt. Everest peering over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. You continue walking until you reach the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park, Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Mt. Everest and the main trading center of this region. On that day, you cross five suspension bridges; the last one is the highest. It is an uphill walk from this bridge to Namche Bazaar. If you are on Friday or Saturday here, you can visit weekly local market. Overnight at guest house. 

Day 5

Altitude Practice in Namche Bazar and Hike to Hotel Everest View (3,880m/12,729 feet) 3 hrs

This is the day for acclimatization. Health experts recommend staying active and moving around even during the rest of the day. There are a few options set for this day. You will hike up to Syangboche(Everest View Hotel). You can see many white mountains here, including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and many more. After visiting the Everest View Hotel and enjoying the view, you will return to Namche Bazar. Overnight at guest house. 

Day 6

Trek from Namche to Tengboche (3,860m/12,664 feet) 5-6 hrs

After breakfast, you trek towards Tengboche. It is an easy walk from Namche to Phunkitenga. Upon reaching Phunkitenga, you will stop for Lunch and ascend to Tengboche, a village that houses the famous Tengboche monastery, the largest monastery in the Everest region. Located amidst the Sagarmatha National Park ( UNESCO World Heritage Site of "outstanding universal value”), it is draped with the panoramic 360-degree view of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. The monastery opens at 3 pm so that you can visit the monastery. Just be able to Overnight at the guest house. 

Day 7

Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m/14,468 feet) 5 hrs

On an easy path, you will walk through lush birch forests, conifers, and rhododendrons. This picturesque trail then dips down to Debuche, crossing the Khumbu Khola River before climbing up to Pangboche. You will be able to see a group of Himalayan Thar around here. You will stop at Somare for lunch. You will be above the tree line from this day. Overnight at guest house. 

Day 8

Acclimatization day in Dingboche and hike to Nangkartshang Hill (5,120m/16,797 feet) 4 hrs

After breakfast at Dingboche, you will hike up to Nangar-Tsang Hill for your second acclimatization walk. While walking on the hill, you will see many big mountains. From here, you can see the fourth-highest mountain in Nepal(Makalu). After a few hours of hiking up the hill, you will return to the guest house. Overnight at the guest house. 

Day 9

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910m/16,108 feet) 5-6 hrs

You will start the day with a gradual climb to Duglha at the end of the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. From here, you climb up a steep trail to Chupki Lhara, where you find an array of stones with prayer flags used as memorials to Scott Fischer (American mountaineer) and 10-time Everest submitter Babu Chiri Sherpa, who perished on a mission to climb Everest. Next, you continue to the Khumbu Glacier moraine and face several great peaks - Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and Mahalangur Himal. The trail is then accessible as you follow the valley to Lobuche. Overnight at guest house.

Day 10

Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,180m/16,994 feet) 3 hrs, and hike to Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,598 feet) 5 hrs both way

You will take the trail to Everest Base Camp on this day. Continuing straight ahead, you come across the Indian army mountaineers' memorials. The path from here can be misleading; hence, you must follow our guides diligently. The walk is strenuous due to the thin air at the high altitude. Before reaching the Everest Base Camp, you will pass through rocky dunes, moraine, and streams. Upon reaching the Everest Base Camp, you see tents of mountaineers in spring that stand out in bright colors against the monotony of the gray surroundings. Then, you trek back to Gorakshep. Overnight at guest house. 

Day 11

Hike to Kalapatthar (5,550m/18,208 feet) 2 hrs, and trek to Pangboche (3,985m/13,074 feet) 6-7 hrs

You will hike up to Kalapathar to see the scenic Everest mountain range. It takes about two hours to climb it. After taking some pictures from here, you will return to the guest house and have breakfast. After breakfast in Gorakshep, you will trek down to Pangbche. Overnight at the Guesthouse.  

Day 12

Trek from Pangboche to Namche Bazar (3,440m/11,286 feet) 5-6 hrs

From Pangboche, you cross a bridge after descending for a few minutes and trek on the flat trail in Deboche, then ascend to the Tengboche. After crossing Tengboche, you start descending towards Phunki Tenga and stop for Lunch. After lunch, the trail climbs to Kyangjuma, and an easy trail leads to Namche Bazar. Overnight at guest house. 

Day 13

Trek from Namche to Lukla (2,840m/9,317 feet) 7-8 hrs

The trail descends steeply downward, so you need to walk carefully. The trail becomes more level and natural after crossing the suspension bridges over the fast-flowing Dudh Koshi and its tributaries. After you arrive in Lukla, you stretch those sore legs, recall the experiences of the last couple of weeks, and celebrate the trip with the previous night's mountain stay. Overnight at guest house. 

Day 14

Fly out to Kathmandu or Ramechhap

You will catch an early morning flight to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, you can rest. This evening, the company will invite you to a farewell dinner. Overnight at the Hotel.

Term and Conditions

Frolic Adventure requests you to read the terms and conditions at the time of any trip booking. After going through our terms and conditions, be sure that you are ok by the contract between you and Frolic Adventure. Changes in Bookings

You can change your booking trip to the trip anywhere inside Nepal. We are always dedicated to lead you on your interesting and targeted destinations. It depends on your physical fitness, time and interest. You will be responsible for the additional costs of the trip.

Cancellation and Refund

The following conditions apply for the trip cancellation and refund:

If you do not want to do a trip for the time you booked, 20% of the deposit amount will not be refunded. But you can add that money if you want to do next trip.

if you cancel the trip before 30 days of your trip date, 20% of the trip cost will be deducted

if you cancel the trip 4 weeks before the departure date- 45%

if you cancel the trip 2 weeks before the departure date- 75%

if you cancel the trip 1 week or less before the departure date- 100%

Notes:

The system to cancel the trip to Tibet and Bhutan is different. Please, contact us for the detailed information.

You can postpone your trip without cancellation charge till next year but you should inform us before 3 weeks of departure via mail. If the rate becomes expensive at the time you want to do the trip, you need to cover up the increased price.

If the trips you book through the other agent at your place, they refund you according to their company rules and regulations. So, you better to contact them directly.

Trip cancelled by the company:

If we cancel your trip, your deposit and any other payments will be fully refunded. If any circumstances that will be out of our control, the reasonable expenses we have already paid will be deducted from the deposited amount.

Guides/Porters:

Any trekking/tour/climbing guides and porters belong to the company deserve company’s authority. If you or the company staff showed any illegal things or activities, we are forced to cancel your trip and no refund is made.

Travel Insurance:

The travellers/trekkers must have travel insurance before coming to Nepal that covers accidents, emergency evacuation if you need rescue and so on. For more details, please see our travel insurance page.

Passport/Visa

All of you must have your valid passport with at least 6 months from your valid passport with at least 6 months from your return date and visa can be obtained from Nepalese embassies or consulate in your country or at arrival in Kathmandu airport. Acceptance of risk and responsibilities:

Our achievement lies in the excellent services by performing our duty honestly. We are dedicated to making your trips memorable and exciting. But, we are not responsible for the changes in itinerary due to the unavoidable situation that is out of our control like government restriction, soil erosion, flood and avalanches, road blockage, strikes, weather problem, problems from machinery things, your sickness and other various causes. We are not liable for the loss of your belongings, injuries or death due to those naturally occurring unavoidable cases.
