Itinerary

Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek: Kanchenjunga Mountain is the third-highest mountain in the world, and it is one of the best trekking destinations for trekkers who love adventure and are daredevils. Kanchenjunga trekking routes have been hardly explored and remain one of the most isolated trekking regions in Nepal. There's a belief in the native area that Kanchenjunga Mountain is home to Yeti, the snowman. Along with that, the Kanchenjunga region provides a vivid diversity of flora and fauna. It is home to the impedance pheasant, red-billed blue magpie, shy dragon, and snow leopard, along with amphibians and mammals. The Kanchenjunga conservation area is playing a crucial role in protecting this animal in this region. If you truly want to indulge yourself in nature and love challenges, then this trek is for you. The route to Kanchenjunga Base Camp passes through the Arun Valley, which is considered one of the most beautiful regions for trekking in Nepal, and one of the highlights is the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area, which covers an area of 2035 square kilometers. This walk-around of Mount Kanchenjunga visits both the North and South Base Camps. The route begins by approaching the north side of Kanchenjunga, where you will have great views of Tent Peak, Nepal Peak, and Cross Peak before the bulk of Kanchenjunga itself becomes visible. From Pangpema on the north side, the trek returns to Ghunsa and then crosses Mirgin La Pass over to the south side of Kanchenjunga. Once over this pass, you follow the route through Ramche and Oktang, where there are impressive views of the south-west face of Kanchenjunga.

The trek begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and is followed by a bus drive to Taplejung. The trek goes through the villages Taplejung, Chhirwa, Sekathum, Gyabla, Ghunsa, Khambachen, Lhonak, Ghunsa, Selele, Tseram, Ramche, Torongten, Sherpa Gain, Phumpe Dada, Kade Bhanjyang, Lali Kharka, and Suketar, from where you take a drive to Biratnagar and a next-day flight back to Kathmandu. The trek takes you on a day trip to Kanchenjunga Base Camp and a day trip to Oktang Temple, where you can also visit the impressive glacier.

You must walk cautiously today because you will be walking through the gorge on a steep and narrow trail. Hike up for a while, leaving the river behind and passing through dense bamboo, fir, and rhododendron forests. Then, you'll walk past a small stone house by the side of a river before gradually ascending over small bridges. The route includes numerous steep climbs and short descents, as well as a beautiful, large waterfall before the final steep climb to Gyabla. It's a small Tibetan settlement.

You need to be careful while walking on this trail, as it is narrow and steep, and some of the trail sections are prone to landslides. After a decent walk, you will reach the base camp and find yourself surrounded by beautiful snow-clad peaks and mountains. From Base Camp, you can see the Himalayan ranges of Mount Kanchenjunga, Nepal Peak, Dromo Peak, and Kirat Chuli. Khambachen. After spending some time at the base camp, we will hike back to Lhonak.

After reaching the summit, you will slowly and steadily cross the Sinion La Pass (4440m), Mirgin La Pass (4480m), and Sinelapche La Pass (4645m).
