Pick-up from your hotel in Fes at 8:00 AM and departure towards southern Morocco. The journey begins with a stop in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco”, where you can admire its alpine-style charm and take memorable photos. Continue to Azrou to see the wild macaque monkeys in the cedar forest before reaching Midelt for lunch.
In the afternoon, cross the Tizi n’Talghamt Pass to Errachidia, with impressive views of the Ziz Gorges. Stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the lush Ziz Valley, then continue through Aoufous and Erfoud, known for its fossils and date palms (with the option to visit a local fossil workshop).
Arrive at the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes (Merzouga). At the edge of the desert, prepare for a camel trek (about 1.5 hours) across the golden sands, pausing to enjoy the magical sunset over the dunes. You’ll then continue by camel to your desert camp, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional nomad tent (bivouac) under the stars.
Dinner and overnight stay in the middle of the dunes.
