Itinerary

The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the world’s top-class trekking destinations amidst the Great Himalayas of Nepal. For those whose dreams soar even higher than the clouds, this is one of those trips that make your holiday dreams come true. Hiking on the legendary foothills just below the mighty mountains with breathtaking views of the master peaks can only be found in the Everest Region. This famous trek is known worldwide for its trailblazing routes & the landscapes that speak to your senses.

On this trip, you also peak out at the famous Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,193ft) viewpoint for some grand upfront views of the highest mountain in the world. Mount Everest Base Camp Trek also includes other famous 8 thousand-ers like Mt Lhotse (8,516m /27,940ft), Makalu (8,485m /27,838 ft) & the giant Cho-Oyu (8,201m /26,906ft). Besides the panoramic views, you will also visit the Tengboche monastery at Tengboche. It is a largest Buddhist monastery in the Khumbu region.

The culture in this particular area is of great notebook stuff & interacting with the local folks puts more zest into your adventurous journey as you plod through the Khumbu region of Nepal. This legendary trail is a psychological thrill for high & wild hikers who wish to tread the paths where legends walked before on their way to conquer Everest. Some did and some didn’t. But, the Mount Everest Base Camp trail keeps those legends alive for most trekkers who head to this region.

The trek is arduous but numerous teahouses are found on the trails offering good grub & a cozy bed to shelter, sometimes from the harsh climate.

Can novice trekkers make it to happen?

Yes, novice trekkers can embark on the Everest Base Camp Trek with proper preparation and guidance. While the trek presents challenges such as high altitudes and varying weather conditions, it is considered achievable for those with a reasonable level of fitness and determination. Hiring an experienced guide and ensuring a gradual acclimatization process are crucial for a safe and enjoyable journey. You should have quality gear, undergo physical training beforehand, and be aware of the potential altitude-related risks. With the right mindset and adequate support, the Everest Base Camp Trek can be a rewarding adventure for those new to trekking.

Which is the best month to trek to Everest Base Camp?

The best months to go on the Everest Base Camp Trek are generally pre-monsoon (spring) and post-monsoon (fall) seasons. The most popular and recommended months are from late April to early June during the spring, and from late September to early November during the fall.

During these periods, the weather is relatively stable, and the skies are clear, providing stunning views of the Himalayan peaks. Temperatures are also milder, making trekking conditions more comfortable. Spring brings blooming rhododendrons and other wildflowers, adding to the scenic beauty, while fall offers clear skies and favorable temperatures for trekking.

It's important to note that weather conditions in the Everest region can be unpredictable, and the temperature decreases with altitude. Trekkers should be prepared for cold temperatures, especially at higher elevations. Additionally, avoiding the monsoon season (June to August) is advisable due to heavy rainfall, which can lead to muddy and challenging trails.

Why should I embark on this journey?

Embarking on the Everest Base Camp Trek is a transformative and awe-inspiring adventure for several compelling reasons. Firstly, the trek offers the opportunity to witness the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayas, including iconic peaks like Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. The landscapes vary from lush forests to high-altitude terrain, providing a diverse and visually stunning experience.

Beyond the natural beauty, the trek is a cultural journey, allowing you to explore Sherpa villages, monasteries, and the unique mountain way of life. Engaging with the local culture adds a rich layer to the overall experience.

The sense of accomplishment upon reaching Everest Base Camp, standing at an elevation of 17,600 feet (5,364 meters), is profound. The trek challenges your physical and mental resilience, fostering personal growth and self-discovery. The camaraderie formed with fellow trekkers and the warm hospitality of the Sherpa people enhance the overall sense of community on this remarkable journey.

In essence, the Everest Base Camp Trek is not just about reaching a destination; it's about embracing the adventure, immersing yourself in a unique culture, and conquering personal challenges amidst some of the world's most awe-inspiring landscapes.

We will stay in a lodge tonight.

Meals include: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 9

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and back to Gorakshep (5,180m) for night stay - 8 hrs trek

Today is a long 8 hours walk to reach base camp. Our trek starts walking over the rocky path with a view of glacial ponds and icebergs. Stay overnight at Namche Bazaar. Meals include: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 12

Trek to Lukla - (2800 meters) - 7 hrs trek

As we are trekking back, our path goes steeply downhill. The more we trek downwards the more we feel easier to breathe as the air gets denser. The trail is full of picturesque views of the landscape and some mountain scenarios. Following the banks of Dudh Koshi River and crossing back many suspension bridges, we pass through forests and small villages, we make our way to Lukla which will be our final stop in the Solukhumbu region.
