Itinerary

This small group tour (maximum of 24 guests) provides a unique and truly Canadian experience with overnight stays in Whistler, Clearwater, Jasper, Banff, and Kelowna. You will have plenty of time to get off the beaten path and do some amazing hikes in addition to experiencing the world-renowned sights of Maligne Lake in Jasper, Lake Louise, Columbia Icefields, Banff and more. Moving over to the Island, enjoy the spectacular BC Ferries crossing from Vancouver to BC’s capital city of Victoria, where we spend two nights. Explore the famous Butchart Gardens and have sufficient time to explore the city at your leisure. Enjoy 3-nights in the laid back town of Tofino located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island and characterised by wild natural scenery including lakes, inlets, ancient rainforest and sandy beaches. The drive on the Pacific Rim Highway is stunning with views of the rugged coastline and lush rainforest. The journey continues to Northern Vancouver Island known for its rugged beauty that rewards guests with solitude, secluded beaches, and glimpses of wildlife in their natural habitat.

Vancouver - Whistler

  • Visit the Bridge River Fishing Grounds, the past and current fishing area of the St'át'imc People. Learn about the traditional wind-dried method of preserving the salmon still used by its people today

Jasper National Park

  • Visit Maligne Lake which is famous for the colour of its azure water, the surrounding peaks, the three glaciers visible from the lake, and Spirit Island, a frequently and very famously photographed islet

Jasper & Icefields Parkway to Banff

Victoria

  • The remainder of the day is at your leisure. You can stroll along Government Street or visit the well known Royal BC Museum. You also have the option to enjoy Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Empress Hotel
Day 11

Victoria - Tofino

  • Early departure from your hotel and drive along the Malahat Highway where you can enjoy beautiful views over the Southern Gulf Islands
  • Stop at the Malahat SkyWalk - the newest outdoor experience on Vancouver Island. Embark on a 600 metre-long elevated walkway through an expansive Arbutus and Douglas Fir forest, leading to a 10-story, architecturally-inspiring spiral tower lookout – the first of its kind in BC. Rising 250 metres above sea level, you will enjoy 360-degree views of islands, inlets, fjords, forests, and mountains in two countries
  • Stop in Duncan for a brief tour around the City of Totems and free time for lunch
  • Arrive in Tofino in the evening and check into your hotel. Your guide will tell you about all the great onsite amenities and best places for dinner tonight
Day 12

Tofino & Pacific Rim National Park

  • Today explore Tofino and its magnificent beaches including Long Beach and option to join your guide for a hike
  • Enjoy a visit to the Ucluelet Aquarium, which is a fantastic locally run aquarium displaying the amazing variety of local marine life and offering great education on the local environment. 
  • After visiting the Aquarium join your guide for a trail walk of the Wild Pacific Trail Lighthouse area, around Ucluelet, to see the rugged coastline and sweeping ocean views.

Day 13

Tofino & Pacific Rim National Park

  • Today you have a full day to join an activity such as taking a boat cruise to Hot Springs Cove, kayaking, surfing, hiking through one of the many rainforest trails, or simply relaxing on the beach
  • The remainder of the evening is at your leisure to explore the town of Tofino
Day 14

Tofino - Campbell River

  • Check out of your hotel this morning and depart Tofino, traveling back towards the east coast of Vancouver Island
  • Arrive in Coombs Market, famously known for the goat on the rooftop and today’s stop for lunch. Here you can find fresh produce, great sandwiches, and the best ice cream on the Island
  • Continue your drive along the Coastal Highway 19A that has you travel through coastal communities and along beautiful landscape, stopping in Comox for dinner this evening
  • Arrive in Campbell River and your hotel for the night 
  • Evening at leisure to explore the resort, watch the sunset and enjoy the peaceful surroundings
Day 15

Northern Vancouver Island

  • Morning at leisure with the option to participate in many different activities including kayaking, fishing, and whale watching
  • Option to go on a full day Grizzly Bear Expedition into the Bute or Toba Valley (available from Aug 20-Oct 15.)
  • Arrive back at your hotel and free time for dinner
Day 16

Campbell River - Nanaimo - Vancouver

  • Depart Campbell River in the morning
  • Visit Elk Falls Provincial Park and explore the extensive network of walking and hiking trails including Elk Falls Suspension Bridge. Enjoy a walk on the elevated cantilevered viewing platform that offers an amazing view of Elk Falls
  • Stop at Morningstar Farm in Parksville. Morningstar Farm is a local food hub featuring self-guided tours, a farmgate store, seasonal "calfé", a petting farm, and trails
  • Stop in Nanaimo for a stroll along the Harbourfront. Don’t miss trying one of the famous Nanaimo Bars - a treat for everyone loving sweets
  • Take the 3:55 pm ferry from Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay
  • Return to downtown Vancouver at approximately 6:30pm

Thank you for choosing Discover Canada Tours (“the Tour Operator”) to help plan your trip. The purchase of travel, accommodation, insurance or other products or services (“Travel Services”) through the Tour Operator constitutes an agreement between you and Discover Canada Tours. The following terms and conditions form part of that agreement. These conditions affect your legal rights, including your right to sue. Please make sure you have read and understood these terms and conditions.

PRICES:All prices quoted are shown in Canadian ($CAD) funds. All rates are subject to tax increases unless otherwise noted in the Travel Services proposal, booking confirmations and/or invoices.  Not Included in Price Unless expressly detailed in the Travel Services proposal provided, the Travel Services do not include travel to a departure point, airfares, passport and visa fees, travel insurance, baggage charges, airport fees, taxes, gratuities, extra meals, ferry tolls, National Park Fees, laundry, alcoholic drinks, optional tours, porterage or any items of a personal nature. Changes In Prices & Itinerary Quoted Travel Services and rates may change and are subject to availability at time of booking. Prices are subject to fluctuations and/or fuel and service charges imposed by airlines, rail & coach providers, hotels, airports, and other ground providers. In the event of fluctuations we reserve the right to adjust prices without notice.

PAYMENTS, FEES, CHANGES & CANCELLATIONS:

Deposit - A 10% non-refundable deposit is due upon booking plus any additional supplier deposits are required at time of confirmation of booking. These additional deposits will be listed on the Travel Services proposal.

Full payment is due 70 days in advance of departure. Bookings made within 70 days of departure will require a credit card on file and full payment will be applied at time of booking.

Other supplier payment policies may apply and will be advised at time of booking.

All Northern Lights Viewing Packages (Yukon, Northwest Territories) require full payment at time of booking

Changes

1 change is permitted at no additional cost, except any supplier fees occurred due to the change (i.e. due to seasonal rate changes, name change) if applicable. Additional changes at CAD$100 per booking (waived in the event that the overall package value increases).  Additional supplier penalties may result as well. 

Discover Canada Tours accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Verbal and/or written authorization of the use of your card indicates your compliance with our booking terms and conditions. Credit card payments will be processed in the currency in which the booking was made . We also accept direct wire transfer for bookings outside of 45 days of departure. A copy of the wire transfer must be emailed on the date of issue indicating the total amount, reservation number(s) and client names. All bank fees related to transactions are the responsibility of the remitter. Credit Card Payment Administration Fee All fees are included in the prices quote, unless otherwise stated.

CANCELLATION BY THE PARTICIPANT:

Should you need to cancel your trip, you (or your authorized travel agent) must notify us in writing by letter, e-mail, or by fax. Notification of cancellation is based on the working week in Canada. Weekend days or statutory holidays cannot be calculated in day’s prior policies for cancellation fee avoidance. An acknowledgement of cancellation notice will be sent; should you not receive this advice then cancellation has not been received by Discover Canada Tours and must be resent. The 10% deposit plus any additional supplier cancellation fees is non-refundable. Any supplier cancellation policies outside our standard policy will show on the Travel Services proposal and confirmation. We recommend independent purchase of travel insurance.   • Up to 65 days prior to your scheduled tour departure you can rebook to another future tour, or receive a full refund less the 10% deposit.
  • Within 65 days prior to your tour departure, your trip is non-refundable, non-transferable.

Northern Lights Viewing Packages (Yukon, Northwest Territories):

100% non-refundable, non-transferable at time of booking

CANCELLATION BY THE OPERATOR:

A departure date for a scheduled coach tour offered and operated by Discover Canada Tours will become a guaranteed departure when the minimum number of customers secured by a valid deposit has been reached on that departure. Discover Canada Tours guarantees that all scheduled Tour departures booked and secured with a valid deposit will depart as indicated on the applicable confirmation, subject to reasonable itinerary changes as described in these Terms or good faith health and safety concerns. This guarantee is not applicable in the case of Force Majeure. Up to date Tour and itinerary information is available on the Tour Operator’s website or by contacting the Tour Operator. Brochures and other printed materials displaying Tour information and departure dates are subject to change may not be relied upon for purposes of this guarantee. If a Tour, offered and operated by Discover Canada Tours, is cancelled by Discover Canada Tours before the date of departure for reasons other than Force Majeure and the cancellation is not caused by your fault or negligence, you will have the choice of accepting from the Tour Operator:

a substitute Tour of equivalent or superior value; or a substitute Tour of lesser value if no Tour of equivalent or superior value is reasonably available and to recover from the Tour Operator the difference in price between the price of the Tour originally purchased and the substitute Tour; or a full refund of all monies paid for the cancelled Tour.

In the event of a cancellation (by the supplier) of a travel service not operated but offered by Discover Canada Tours and where Discover Canada Tours acts solely as an agent for the suppliers, all effort is made to provide you with a suitable alternative of the travel service. Discover Canada Tours is not responsible for any incidental expenses or consequential losses that you incur as a result of the cancelled travel service including visas, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail, non refundable car parking or other fees, loss of earnings, or loss of enjoyment.  Where a significant element of a Tour as described cannot be provided after departure, Discover Canada Tours will make suitable alternative arrangements where possible.

COUPONS AND DISCOUNT CODES:

Coupon and discount codes can only be used on scheduled tour dates. Coupons and discounts cannot be used on Yukon packages. Certain self-drive packages also do not allow discounts to be used. Please confirm with your agent regarding coupons and discount codes.

DOCUMENTATION AND VOUCHERS:

Self-Drive & Individual Travel Packages Discover Canada Tours issues full documentation including itinerary/booking overview, vouchers where required by the supplier and a comprehensive Day-by-Day. Final travel documents will be sent to you via email approximately 30 days prior to departure, providing all required information and final full payment but the client has been received.. Scheduled Coach Tour We will issue a booking confirmation at time of booking.

UNUSED SERVICES:

There will be no refunds for services which are not utilized. Should passengers fail to arrive for their pre-booked service/product or voluntarily cancel, amend or otherwise alter their arrangements; Discover Canada Tours will not be responsible for refunds. This is regardless of inferred or implied assurances on behalf of any of service providers.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Discover Canada Tours acts solely as an agent for the suppliers used in the program. Although great care is taken in choosing suppliers, we are unable to directly control them and therefore cannot be liable for their acts or omissions. The travel services are subject to the conditions imposed by these suppliers, and their liability may be limited to their tariffs, conditions of carriage, international conventions and agreements.

PASSPORTS AND TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION:

Visitors to Canada from all other countries require a valid passport to enter the country. Citizens of some countries may require a visa. It is your responsibility to check the validity of your passport, which should be valid well beyond your return date and to ensure it meets all requirements for admission into Canada. Many countries require your passport to be valid for six months beyond your travel dates or you may be denied Travel Services. Travelers who fly to Canada may also require an electronic travel authorization document. If you have any questions or concerns with respect to your ability to enter Canada, please consult Immigration and Citizenship Canada.  For current information on travel to Canada visit www.travel.gc.ca.

CHANGES TO THE ITINERARY:

Safety is our primary concern. Please note that on some tours, it may be necessary to modify the itinerary due to weather and / or road conditions. If so, we will endeavour to add other sights and activities to replace those omitted. If the itinerary is modified to one that is less expensive than the original, the client will be refunded the difference in cost between the original and modified itineraries. If the itinerary is modified to one that is more expensive than the original, the client’s advance approval will be obtained, and the client will be charged the difference between the original and modified itineraries. If a tour is cancelled and no substitute tour is available or acceptable to the client, the client will be refunded the full cost of the tour minus any applicable vendor payments. The client is responsible for all additional transportation or lodging costs that are necessitated by weather. In addition, if a client has planned to travel by air to a tour or lodging facility that can also be accessed by ground transportation, there will be no refund if the air transportation is cancelled and the client chooses not to access the tour or lodging facility by ground transportation. There are no refunds if a tour operates but the client decides due to weather or any other reason not to participate. Participation in activities, tours, and transportation is not mandatory and purely voluntary. We strongly recommend travel insurance to help protect against unforeseen circumstances.

RESPONSIBILITY AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK:

Discover Canada Tours acts only as agent for the various independent suppliers that provide overnight accommodations, transportation, sightseeing, activities, or other services connected with the itineraries it arranges (hereinafter: “the services and activities”). The services and activities are subject to the terms and conditions of those suppliers as well as those contained herein.

FORCE MAJEURE:

If the Tour Operator is prevented or restricted directly or indirectly from carrying out all or any of its obligations under these Terms and Conditions for any cause beyond the reasonable control of that Party (“Affected Party”), including (without limiting the generality of the foregoing) war, civil commotion, riot, insurrection, strikes, lock-outs, fire, explosion, floods and acts of God (each a “Force Majeure Event”), Discover Canada Tours shall be relieved of its obligations hereunder for the period of the Force Majeure Event. In such instance Discover Canada Tours shall not be liable for any delay or failure in the performance of any of its obligations hereunder or for any loss or damages which the other Party may suffer due to or resulting from any such delay or failure, provided that written notice of the inability to perform is given by Discover Canada Tours within 48 (forty eight) hours of the commencement of the Force Majeure Event.

APLICABLE LAW:

The Contract and these Terms are subject to the laws of British Columbia, Canada and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for the resolution of any dispute under these Terms or concerning any Tour, product or service.

LIABILITY RELEASE & AGREEMENT NOT TO SUE:

You understand and agree that, as a condition of booking Travel Services through Discover Canada Tours, you and all participants in any Travel Services waive all claims and agree to defend, release and indemnify Discover Canada Tours, its employees and agents from any and all liability or damages arising in any way from any Travel Services. You understand that travel and participating in the Travel Services can involve dangers and inherently risky activities that may result in death, personal injury, loss or damage to property, delays, inconvenience, extra costs or other losses. Discover Canada Tours, its employees and agents shall under no circumstances be liable for any representation, misrepresentation or information given or omitted in relation to the suitability of any Travel Services, visas, passports, health issues, insurance issues, taxation or any other matter. Discover Canada Tours, its employees and agents shall also under no circumstances be liable for any loss or damage including injury, death, loss of personal effects or luggage, loss of revenue or profit, costs, expenses, delays, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment or emotional upset, no matter how caused, whether or not due to any act, omission or negligence of Discover Canada Tours, its employees or agents. In the alternative, should the Liability Release & Agreement Not to Sue contained above be found unenforceable for any reason, all liability of Discover Canada Tours shall be limited to the lesser of the total price of the Travel Services.

CLAIMS:

Discover Canada Tours is committed to customer satisfaction. If you encounter any difficulties or problems please let us know immediately so that we may attempt to address your concerns. If we are unsuccessful in resolving your concern, and your claim is for any reason not covered by the Liability Release & Agreement Not to Sue detailed above, you agree that any claim relating in any way to any Travel Services arranged through Discover Canada Tours is null and void unless notice is provided in writing within 60 days of the completion of any Travel Services and unless arbitration proceedings are commenced within one (1) year of the completion of any Travel Services.

MEDIA POLICY:

Any pictures, video or promotional footage taken by Discover Canada Tours or other parties working with Discover Canada Tours (which may include Passengers), during the Trip, will be the property of Discover Canada Tours and can be used or disclosed and the Passenger consents to the use and disclosure for future promotional purposes. The Passenger also consents to the use and disclosure of any of the personal information collected regarding the Passenger (except for payment information) to enable Discover Canada Tours to inform the Passenger of events and promotions.

INSURANCE:

All participants are strongly advised to purchase medical insurance coverage and cancellation insurance, either through Discover Canada Tours or through another insurance provider or broker. Discover Canada Tours is able to provide quotes on competitive travel insurance policies and would be happy to do so. All insurance products provided through Discover Canada Tours are subject to additional terms and conditions. Please review the wording of all insurance policies, including all warranties, conditions, exclusions and limits carefully. A select number of Travel Services have mandatory insurance coverage requirements due to the nature of the activity. Please read all quote documentation carefully to ensure compliance.
