Itinerary

“HUNTING WITH EAGLE IN BAYAN-ULGII” PHOTO SAFARI TOUR

Bayan Ulgii is the most remote province and also the most ethnically diverse, mountainous, and scenic region of Western Mongolia, with thousands of years of history. The Bayan Ulgii is a home to the Kazakhs, a Muslim tribe that preserved their eagle hunt tradition till nowadays. In addition to the centuries tradition of Kazakh people is also home to the Altai Mountain Range with its picturesque landscapes and scenery. Also throughout the Bayan Ulgii region still remains in the nature countless archeological sites with petroglyphs, cave paintings and deer stone monuments that date back as far as 10,000 years. The Kazakhs till this day still practice the ancient tradition of hunting with eagles. The men hunt with these massive birds of prey, which are caught and taken from their nest at a young age. The Kazakh men train them during the summer months and as the winter draws nearer the birds are starved to make them hungry for the hunt. In the summer the birds are usually kept, tied up, outside the gers of the Kazakh people. The birds are kept and used for hunting to the age of about 15 and then released back into the wild.

The “Hunt with eagle in Bayan-Ulgii” photo safari tour gives an opportunity to experience horse trekking through picturesque altai mountains scenery in the WILD WILD WEST MONGOLIA and interact with ordinary Kazakh people to learn about the their daily life and cultures.

This tour is designed for active and adventure seekers who are looking for tours arranged in unspoiled nature and wants be among the nomad locals far away from touristic destinations.
