Mardi Himal Trek - 9 Days

We'll pick you up from Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to the hotel. Today, the combined activities include refreshments, introduction to your guide and an introduction to the Mardi Himal Trek.

After breakfast, we will leave hotel morning time with scenic view along the road to Pokhara via Prithivi highway. It might take approximately 7 hrs to reach Pokhara. We will visit almost all the beautiful places in Pokhara like Davis fall (if we reached in the early), Phewa Lake etc and overnight at hotel inclusive breakfast.

We have our morning meal at the hotel in Pokhara and then take an hour drive towards Kande. Kande is the starting point of the trek, and for the next couple of hours (around three hours, we head towards Pitam Deurali crossing the river over suspension bridges, witnessing monasteries and mainly the essence of local Gurungs traditions and cultures. Distant views of snow-capped Himalayas are seen and we stay overnight at a local tea house at the end of the day.

We start our day early in the morning today and trek further towards Low camp. The trail continues through forest, but the route was firmer than before, trees were smaller, shrubs start to appear. The change in vegetation gives us feeling like we are gaining altitude and slowly getting closer to alpine surroundings. The low camp is famous for epic sunrise views over Macchapuchre and Annapurna Himalayas. It is highly recommended to stop here overnight to enjoy the next morning’s sunrise views. We stay here at Low Camp.

If you take proper rest and sleep, then facing steep hills up today would not be that tough. You will cross 3500 meters altitude today, the rocky barren and steep walk will challenge us. Weather changes are common at higher altitudes. Get ready to see the best but also prepare for the worst weather situations. Our guide will ensure what to do, what to carry, where to go and where not to, everything before and during the trek. Upon arrival at high camp enjoy excellent Himalayan views. Overnight stay at a local teahouse in high camp.

It will be the most challenging and beautiful day of our Mardi Himal Trek today. We approach the base camp and final ascent of this adventure. The scenes of snow-capped mountains are great. Ice might be there at higher altitudes and trail might get slippery at times. The surroundings are so beautiful with great Machhapuchre at the right and Annapurna base camp on the left. Either you are first time trekking in Nepal or multi-time; this place will be one of your favorites. In this way after getting close to Himalayan horizons, we return to high camp for overnight stay. There is also an option to trek down to low camp. Here instead of following the same route down, we recommend you to see different views, visit other beautiful places and meet different people. So, we will be heading towards Sidhing tomorrow.

On our return, we take a different route, thus completing a circuit and from the Low Camp there is a trail that goes down to Siddhing village rather than going back down Mardi Himal back to Kokar. Siddhing is a traditional Nepalese village and still very much away from the busier tourist treks. After reaching Siddhing, we will have lunch and take a local jeep on sharing to Pokhara.

Today we take a drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at the capital city, we organize the farewell dinner for you at one of the cultural restaurants. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.
