Tour program

Day 1

Athens Arrival

After your arrival in the mythical city of Athens, the transfer to your hotel will be conducted in one of our private vehicles. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and enjoy Athens at your own pace.

The order of the days may change according to your arrival day.

Overnight in Athens. Meals: N/A

Start point

Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH) Διεθνής Αερολιμένας Αθηνών Ελευθέριος Βενιζέλος, Αττική Οδός, Spata-Loutsa, Αττικη, Greece

Today you will head towards the Corinth Canal, where you will make a brief stop to take some photos and marvel at this famous channel that connects the Aegean Sea with the Gulf of Corinth.  With this impressive engineering feat ships can avoid circumnavigating the Peloponnese peninsula for more than 400 km to reach the Ionian Sea. Continuing your tour you will visit the Theater of Epidaurus, worldwide famous for its acoustics and still in use today for a range of performances, especially in the summer. You will also spend time at the museum of Asclepius, father of modern medicine, and then travel to the city of Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece.  The journey will take you to Mycenae, where you will visit the prehistoric Acropolis, Lions Gate and the tomb of "Agamenon". In the afternoon you will traverse central Peloponnese and arrive in the city of Olympia in the early evening. Dinner and accommodation.

Overnight: Olympia Meals: Breakfast - Dinner

In the morning you will visit the site of the ancient Olympic stadium, where the first games were held at around 776 BC. The importance of these games was apparent, given the extensive participation of the Greek cities, which suspended hostilities throughout the celebrations. The Olympiad was recognized as the only accepted chronological event all over Greece and, in essence, constituted the period of four years between two consecutive events.

Olympia was also the most important sanctuary of Ancient Greece, a place to worship Zeus, the first among the gods. The gigantic gold and ivory sculpture made by Phidias was considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

After your visit to the Museum of Olympia, you will continue your journey to Delphi traversing the suspension bridge of Rio - Antirion, a modern engineering wonder.

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner Overnight: Delphi

In the morning and after a solid breakfast you will visit Delphi, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the center or navel of the ancient world.  It was here where the renowned Oracle of Delphi, a counsellor of kings and pilgrims, could be found. You cannot miss out on a visit to the museum, which houses the "bronze charioteer", a masterpiece of Greek sculpture.

At the end of your Delphi tour, you will leave the slopes of Mount Parnassus, and head towards the plains of Thessaly, where the city of Kalambaka is located.

Arrival in Kalambaka, dinner and accommodation.

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner Overnight: Kalambaka

Early in the morning you will visit Meteora, also recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1988.  In this mysterious landscape, the natural beauty is combined with the compelling presence of the eternal monasteries suspended or "meteora" on top of the huge rocks. Currently there remain only six in use, five for the male and one for the female monastic community.  (Dresscode in the monasteries: Sleeveless clothing and shorts over the knee for men are prohibited. For ladies skirts and shawls are available at the entrance in case they don’t have such clothing to cover themselves.)

On the way back to Athens, you will pass by Thermopylae, where you can see the statue of the Spartan King Leonidas I, famous for leading the battle against the Persians in 480 BC.

Arrival in Athens in the afternoon and drop off at your hotel or the nearest one.

Meals: Breakfast  Overnight: Athens

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning at your own pace—sleep in, explore nearby areas, or simply unwind—before meeting your assistant at Syntagma Square at 15:40 to witness the Changing of the Guards in front of the Hellenic Parliament at 16:00.

Shortly after, we will board our vehicle together and begin a panoramic city tour, offering a comprehensive introduction to Athens and its most important landmarks. During the tour, we will see:

The Athenian Trilogy (National Library, University of Athens, and Academy of Athens), the Presidential Residence, the Kallimarmaro Stadium (Panathenaic Stadium), the Zappeion, and the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian’s Gate, while making short stops to take in the beauty of these landmarks and capture memorable photos.

Our tour will come to an end at the top of Philopappou Hill, offering stunning views of the city. Here, our assistant will provide recommendations for those who wish to continue exploring independently, whether visiting the Acropolis, discovering Monastiraki, or enjoying a meal in Plaka.

This tour is conveniently designed to finish at around 19:30, allowing you some time to rest before making your way to Mornastiraki to join the Athens by Night Walking Tour, and see another side of the city under the moonlight.

Overnight in Athens . Meals: Breakfast

Early in the morning, one of our private vehicles will be waiting for you along with your assistant to transfer you to the port of Piraeus where you will board the ferry to the famous island of Mykonos. The crossing is scheduled at the ideal time of the day so as to enjoy the sun on deck and marvel at the deep blue of the Aegean sea. The chosen name is said to be "the heap of stones" or the "rocky place", but a later version states that the island's name is connected to the hero Mykono, son of the king of Dilos Aniou.

Upon your arrival on the island, one of our English speaking representatives will be waiting to welcome you, transfer you to your hotel and introduce you to this famous island.

The rest of the day is free for you to relax and immerse yourself in the 'slow' way of life of the islanders. Overnight in Mykonos . Meals: Breakfast

Free day to enjoy this magnificent island. Mykonos is the meeting point of the international "jet set", famous for its wonderful beaches, the dazzling shops and vibrant nightlife. The island's cuisine is mainly Mediterranean, which makes vegetables and olive oil a basic part of the daily menu, as well as certain spices (oregano, basil ...) and on many occasions, fish and seafood. Just a few minutes away by ferry, it is the historic island of Delos, which, according to Greek mythology, was the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. This small island, inhabited since 3000 B.C., was one of the most important cultural centers of antiquity.

Overnight in Mykonos . Meals: Breakfast

Having enjoyed a tasty breakfast, appreciating life like a Greek, one of our vehicles will pick you up at the agreed time to drive you to the port where you will continue on to your next destination, the island which is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, Santorini. Approaching the island, you will have the opportunity to admire the capital city of Fira, with its white houses overhanging the cliffside and facing the volcano.

Upon your arrival, one of our English-speaking representatives will be waiting for you at the port to welcome you, direct you to your hotel and comment a little more on the highlights of this picturesque island. The rest of the day is free to wander through the narrow streets.

Overnight in Santorini  Meals: Breakfast

Free day for you and your companion to explore this magical island, considered to be the lost continent of Atlantis, at your own pace. The name of the island was given by the Venetian Giacomo Barozzi due to the presence of a chapel dedicated to Saint Eirini. His descendants remained until 1576, when it became part of the Duchy of Naxos and until the Turkish conquest by Piyale Pasha.

Optionally, you can choose to go on a dazzling sailboat tour that comprises visits to the small islands inside the caldera, Nea and Palea Kameni, with the hot springs of green and yellow waters.

Overnight in Santorini  Meals: Breakfast

At the agreed time, you will be transferred to the airport of Santorini, from where you will board your flight back to Athens. Your arrival at the airport will correspond to your international flight, which should preferably have a departure later than 12:30 hrs.
