Tour program

Day 1

Islamabad

Today the tour starts in Islamabad, Pakistan's capital city. It replaced Karachi back in 1967 and is now the political and commercial heart of the country. Situated against the lush backdrop of the Margalla Hills it is a city where old and new collide. Leafy green boulevards are home to modern buildings and shopping malls but are also dotted with traditional homes and mosques. The group flight doesn't arrive until late evening so anyone arriving early might want to take a stroll and familiarise themselves with the city.

Start point

Islamabad International Airport, Airport Avenue, Islamabad, Punjab, Pakistan

Day 2

Fly to Gilgit

On this day we will take a morning flight to Gilgit city. (1 hour)

Your tour guide will receive you at the Gilgit airport. After the airport transfer, you will take a road trip towards Ghizer Valley. You will first explore the Punial Valley on the way. Ghizer is known as the 'Land of Lakes', so you will witness many lakes and lush blue clear water alongside the Ghizer road.

The Gupis Valley is a junction between the Yasin and Phundar valleys and is located in the southern part of the Ghizer district. Punial produces a high quantity of grapes in the area.  The Punial Valley is a mountainous region, and the main town is Gahkuch. Sherqilla is the second largest village in the Punial Valley. This language is called Shina.

After 2 hours of drive, we will check in at hotel in Gahkuch; the capital town of Ghizer District.

Evening free to explore Gahkuch bazaar and surrounding areas.

Day 3

Gupis Valley

Gupis Valley is a crossroads between Gilgit and Chitral, connecting Yasin and Phundar valleys. The Yasin Gupis lies in the southern part of the Gupis region. Heavy rains fall from January to the end of February. Major tourist attractions include Gupis Castle, Khalti Lake, the stone circles of the megaliths, and the village of Shingalote. Khalti Lake is a 20-30 minute drive from Gupis. This lake was formed when the river's water stopped at the plain. This lake is known for hosting trout fish. The military once used the Gupis fort as a defensive structure. There are two major languages spoken in this region: Khowar and Shina. There are many villages in the Gupis valley, such as Yungal, Sumal, Hakkis, Jindrote, Dahimal, pingaal, and Khasundar.

Day 4

Phandar Valley

The Phander Valley is a stunning place to be, and it's a paradise on earth. Trout are well known for being a popular fish. The natural beauty of the different places in Phander attracts people towards itself. It is located in the northwest part of the city of Gilgit. On the main Gilgit Chitral route, there are many places to stay in comfortable and affordable accommodation. The Gilgit river has beautiful blue water in this area. The mountains around the lakes are high. There are four large lakes, and the largest of them is Phander Lake. As the river enters the valley, it is divided into several smaller streams and eventually merges back together as it exits the valley. Phander includes Shamarn, Chachi, Dalimal, Gulagmuli, and Teru. The primary language spoken in the Phander Valley is Khowar.

Day 5

Yasin Valley

Yasin Valley, located in the northern region of the Gupis Yasin district, is also known as the "land of martyrs." About 148 kilometers separate this valley from Gilgit city. The inhabitants of Yasin are diligent, honest, bold, and forthright. Burushaski and Khowar are two of the main languages used locally. Hawaldar Lalak Jan Shaheed, given the Pakistani military’s highest award Nishan-e-Haider for his bravery in the Kargil war, belonged to Hundur Yasin. Gindai, Bajyot, Chaliharang, Thodas, Manich, Taus, Sultanabad, Huwalti, Thoi, Barkolti, Sandi, Darkot, Hundur, Qurqalti, and Gojalti are some of the villages in the Yasin Valley.

Yasin is connected to Chitral and Wakhan by the Darkot Pass. The main draw includes places like Makkoli, Darkut, and the Mudori fort. In this valley, apricots, cheery, and apples are produced in abundance. The people of Yasin are brusho original; however, here are migrants from different parts of the country.

Day 6

Yasin Valley

The Yasin Valley had an important place in the history of the area, and its characters in particular. The ongoing conflict between the leaders of Chitral and Gilgit over Yasin brought it to the notice of Victorian Britain after British explorer George Hayward was killed in the upper levels of the valley.

The valley receives plenty of water, and its lower sections in particular have a large amount of arable land. Late August, when the wheat and maize are getting ready for harvest, is perhaps when you may see yasin at its best.

Day 7

Ishkoman Valley

Its border with Afghanistan and the Pamir Wakhan Corridor is located to the north of the Ghizer district. It is a breathtaking valley with mountains and glaciers. Also well-known are the trout fish there. It has about 30 villages in total, including Chatorkhand, Ghotolti, which has 30,000 residents. The locals speak Wakhi, Khowar, Shana, and Burushaski, which are the four main languages. This is the most diverse valley in whole Gilgit-Baltistan.

Day 8

Gilgit

Drive back to Gilgit from Ishkoman Valley. (3 hours)

Overnight stay in Gilgit City.

Day 9
