This is the third popular route on Kilimanjaro and involves much shorter approach to Kibo than the Marangu Route.

Day 1

Rongai Gate - simba camp

Launch your Kilimanjaro ascent after a hearty breakfast, departing from Arusha or Moshi to Marangu Gate for registration. Transfer to the Rongai trailhead and begin a gentle 3-4-hour hike through maize fields and pine forests, spotting Kilimanjaro Colobus monkeys amid stunning scenery. Ascend to Simba Camp on the moorland’s edge, with panoramic Kenyan plains views. Day 2

Simba camp- Kikelewa Camp

Rise to a gourmet breakfast crafted by your master chef , energizing you for the climb to Kikelewa Camp. Pause for lunch at 2nd Cave Camp, soaking in stunning views, then trek onward to Kikelewa. Savor a sizzling dinner and fireside chats under a starlit African sky, with Tanzania’s panoramic beauty unfolding below. Settle into Kikelewa Camp for a serene overnight, blending tranquility and anticipation—a rich, professional Kilimanjaro milestone!

Day 3

Kikelelwa Camp- Mawenzi Tarn hut camp

Fuel up with a hearty breakfast , then tackle a short, steep climb to Mawenzi Tarn Hut Camp at 4,330 meters from 3,600 meters. Traverse scrubby moorland, showcasing Kilimanjaro’s unique flora and stark beauty. Arrive at this high-altitude haven, framed by dramatic stone towers and stunning vistas. Enjoy a gourmet lunch amid the raw grandeur, then rest overnight at Mawenzi Tarn Hut Camp—a concise, professional ascent steeped in mountain splendor!

Day 3

Mawenzi Tarn Camp- Kibo Hut

Embark on a 4-5-hour hike across the saddle’s lunar-like desert, a stark, high-altitude expanse between Kilimanjaro’s peaks. Arrive at Kibo Camp, your final stop before the summit, nestled below Kibo cone with stunning views of Mawenzi and your goal in sight. This alpine journey showcases nature’s raw beauty and builds anticipation for the ascent ahead. Enjoy meals amid panoramic vistas, resting in this professional haven as you near Africa’s rooftop!

Day 5

Kibo hut-Uhuru Peak- Horombo Hut

Rise just after midnight at Kibo Camp, warmed by tea and a light meal as you gear up for the summit. Ascend 5-6 hours through the dark, guided by headlamps, reaching Gilman’s and Stella Points as dawn hints on the horizon. Push on for an hour to Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters, greeted by a stunning sunrise over Africa’s roof. After this triumph, descend to Kibo Hut for lunch, then continue to Horombo Hut for dinner and rest—carrying the pride of Kilimanjaro’s conquest!

Day 6

Horombo hut - marangu gate - Hotel

Celebrate your Kilimanjaro triumph over a final mountain feast, shared with trekkers and crew amid laughter and pride. Descend to Marangu Gate for heartfelt farewells, tipping your dedicated guides, porters, and cook, and capturing memories with photos. Your driver then escorts you to your comfortable Moshi or Arusha accommodation for a restful night—basking in the glow of conquering Africa’s rooftop in a rich, professional finale!
