Muscat Sightseeing tour is a sightseeing tour around Muscat, the capital of Oman, and a great chance to soak up the Arabic atmosphere as well as to explore the city where the ancient architecture and monuments are combined with the modern life. The first sight in the tour is Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque which is truly a masterpiece of the world architecture. It took 6 years to erect it and in 2001 it was successfully opened. This mosque is a light traditional Islamic building which is made from sandstones and marble. It has got 5 minarets – one main and 4 side minarets which create a special distinctive look. The internal design is rich in mosaics, huge handmade Persian carpets and chandeliers decorated with crystals. Our next stop is the Royal Opera House – the pearl of the Oman musical and stage art. The third sight we can’t avoid seeing is Muttrah Souqthe. This market is located right at the banks of the Gulf of Oman. That’s an ideal place to have a look at the ordinary life of Oman. Just go along the rows, look for the items, bargain and have fun as here you can find everything starting from spices finishing traditional rugs, vases or just souvenirs.  Having seen the market, we should also look at the Mutrah fort. The fort leads its history to the 1580s when the Portuguese had built it. It served as a military defense from the rivals in the past, but today it’s open for tourists. Next thing in Muscat to see is a well-known Al Alam Palace — the residence of Sultan Qaboos. From both sides the forts surround the palace so you’ll likely enjoy the magnificent scenery. Located in the center of the city it always attracts a lot of visitors and although people are not allowed to go inside, they can easily go around and take cool photos.

08:00 -  From Muscat we start our journey and go to the East Coast. We have our first stop at Bimmah sinkhole. There we have a short swim and lead to the entrance of Wadi Shab. Here, after crossing the lake on a board of small ferry, we start hiking in Wadi Shab. It is an easy hike leading us to the beautiful fresh pools where we can enjoy swimming to the hidden cavern with a waterfall. By the evening we arrive at the hotel in Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve and have our dinner. After dinner we lead you to Turtle Reserve to witness the unique moment of turtle's lives - lying their eggs at the wild beach.

Overnight in Turtle Reserve.

07:00 After breakfast we enjoy a short sightseeing in Sur including Dhow building yard, Lighthouse and a beautiful city corniche then we head toward to Wadi Bani Khalid. Here we stop for a refreshing swimming in fresh deep pools and explore the hidden Muqal Cave. Relax under the sun and feel a nice breeze from the mountains. After a tasty lunch in the Wadi we drive to Bidiya village. Today we are going to visit Bedouin family in the desert. After spending some time with the family and enjoying Omani coffee and dates, we ride camels. In the evening we drive to watch the sunset from the dunes and take amazing photographs. Then we have BBQ dinner at the camp. After dinner enjoy a friendly conversation with friends around the campfire.

Overnight in Desert Camp.

We drive to Nizwa, the ancient capital of Oman. At Nizwa we visit Nizwa Fort and the Traditional Souk. From there we travel to Al Hamra, one of the oldest villages in Oman. At the foot of the Hajar Mountains we take a walk around the mud brick houses before continuing our journey onwards and upward to The Green Mountain, stopping on the way for amazing views of the Hajar Mountains . Even on the hottest days it's nice and cool up here. Jebel Akhdar  is famous for its labyrinth of wadis and terraced orchards, where pomegranates, apricots and roses grow in abundance due to its mild Mediterranean climate. It provides a spectacular scenery, ancient rock carvings and remote villages.

Overnight in the Mountains.

12:00 Drive to Muscat (about 2 hours)

Amouage Factory and Visitors’ Centre

In 2012, the Amouage perfumery opened its Muscat factory to celebrate three decades of this niche luxury brand of fragrance. At the Amouage Factory and Visitors' Centre we discover the most expensive perfume in the world which draws inspiration from the rich and colorful heritage of the Sultanate of Oman.

For shopping fanatics the Amouage Factory is best enjoyed as part of an Arabian shopping trip and souq experience. Once at the perfume factory a guide explain how the perfumes are made by hand and you can watch as the bottles are filled and packaged by the small team which works here, perhaps even purchasing a bottle to take home for yourself.
