Itinerary

An incredible journey to Poonhill is one of the best-organized trips to see the sights of Himalayas of Nepal and green vegetation of Nepal offered by Himalayan Social Journey. A short hike or a trek to Poonhill will soothe your eyes as snowcapped mountain come into your view.The Ghorepani hill trek is a short week trek to Ghorepani Poonhill at the foothills of the Annapurna. Enjoy wandering through a stunning mountain landscape and enchanting villages of the Gurung in thick forests full of birds, deep sub-tropical valleys, set under the Annapurnas, dominated by the picturesque fluted summit of Machapuchare (Fish Tail Top).


From the Poon Hill (3.210 m above the village of Ghorepani), you can enjoy the best view of the huge sunrise of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri Nilgiri, Hiunchuli or Machhapuchhre, from which you can appreciate the scenery, the beautiful history and nature on some of the world's most scenic roads.


Explore the magnificence of Pokhara city and continue the journey by hiking to Poonhill. Take into the beauty of Himalayas in your camera and capture it for a longtime memory. Besides that, indulge the cultural variety that is seen during the trek and experiences the countryside of Nepal. Likewise, a pleasure of seeing the first ray of sunrise will make your day even better. After a short drive from Pokhara to Tikhedhunga, our official trek into the mountains begins. While hiking through the lush green forests, cascading waterfalls, the ethnic settlement is what you will encounter. Some amazing views of the mountains like Annapurna I, Annapurna IV, Machapuchre (Fishtail) are some mountains seen during the hike. After taking into the views then we will descend down to Ghandruk via Tadapani and then drive to Pokhara.

Tour program

Day 1

Drive to Banthanti via Ulleri and trek to Ghorepani

In the morning, you will meet your guide for the trip and he will brief you about the your trip. After the short meeting you will be driving oh a jeep to Banthanti via Nayapul, Thikhedhunga and Ulleri. You will enjoy scenic route to popular tourist destination and from there you will begin to have the sightings of rural villages of Annapurna region of Nepal. 

Now you're going to Ghorepani, from the lovely village of Ulleri. You will take stunning view of the Annapurnas, Machapuchhare and Hiunchuli snowy hills. Then you go more gradually to the Nanghethani (2460 m) through the rhododendron trees. We reach Ghorepani, a beautiful village on the ridgeline after a further hour walking. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 2

Hike to Poonhill and trek to Tadapani

Early morning you will be hiking to Poonhill to see the marvelous Sunrise and Mountain View in a clear day, panoramic view of 10 different peaks and then trek back to the guest house. After having the breakfast at your guesthouse at Ghorepani, you will continue your trek to Tadapani. The trail contains doing ups and down along the stone staircase, walking along the newly built roads and passing through the lush jungles. Overnight at guesthouse. (B)

Day 3

Trek to Ghandruk and drive to Pokhara

Today, you will leave Tadapani behind and continue your journey to Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a beautiful settlement of Gurung community. Taking in the view of this picturesque village, you will drive back to Pokhara in a Jeep. Overnight at Hotel Lakestar or similar category. (B) 

Day 4

Departure

After 3 days of trekking, your trip come to an end after the breakfast at Pokhara hotel. You can take your onward journey from Pokhara.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Down Payment / Deposit:

To secure place, 20% down payment is required to make in advance as per the company policy. Rest payment can be paid 30 days prior to departure.

Please contact us if this will cause you a problem; we do try to be flexible

Payment of the Balance:

Rest amount can be paid before a month of your arrival. If you choose to settle your holiday balance by credit card a handling charge of  4% on the outstanding balance is made. There is no handling charge for payment by bank transfer.

Last Minute Booking:

We accept your last minute booking for ONLY IN CASES OF NEPAL TRIPS, but LAST MINUTE BOOKING WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE FOR INDIA, BHUTAN AND TIBET TRIPS).

Refund:

No refund will be made for 20% deposit amount in case of cancellation of trip for any other else reason but we are flexible to postpone your trip in any later days. Having paid full amount of any trip, you will get your money back but still cancellation charge (20%) is invoiced to you. Written notification of your cancellation should be made to cancel any trip.

Supplement Charge:

On our holidays tour / trek packages, rooms or tents are provided in twin sharing basis. Thus, single room supplement charge will be imposed to client who does not have another tour participant to share room /tent with.

Incomplete Tour:

No refund will be made to clients who drop out from the journey regardless of whatever portions remain unused in the itinerary.

Unforeseen Circumstances:

If Himalayan Social Journey company cancels your trip because of unforeseen circumstances like war, natural disasters, conflict, unfavorable climate etc., we will be happy to refer you alternative trip of a similar standard. Even if this doesn’t fit your personal interest, all money paid by you to our company will be refunded. But remember, any other expenses incurred by you as a result of this booking are entirely your responsibility.

Clients' Responsible:

A tour / trek guide who represents Himalayan Social Journey Company deserves all authority during your tours. 

Travel Insurance:

You must purchase comprehensive travel insurance package against medical, natural calamity, helicopter evacuation, personal accident, trip cancellation etc. This is strongly suggested to all our  clients.

Tour Amendment:

To make alterations of any trek / tour itinerary, prior notice is requested. You’re advised to stay in touch with us. But occasionally, you may be obliged to do so en route under certain circumstance for instance bad weather etc.

Papers & Documents:

All necessary documents should be presented in sequence for example to issue visa, necessary permits etc. We’re not accountable in case of any trip formality not completed in time before the trip departs on the absent of essential papers and documents.

Flight Delay/Cancellation:

There is virtually possibility of flight delay or postponement for notorious weather in Himalayan regions which could be happened, in particular, in Everest region (Lukla), Jomsom, Dolpa, Simikot and Jumla region etc. In such case your itinerary will be modified.

HSJ mission is to finance its community enhancement programs through the revenues generated by tourism. The proceeds from any HSJ organized tour and trek goes 10% directly to uplift educational status of needy children of rural areas of Nepal through Himalayan Community Project.
