Itinerary

Tackle the classic cycling climbs of the Giro d’Italia in Northern Italy. Ride out of two locations: Corvara in the Dolomites & Bormio in the Italian Alps.

Day 1

Welcome to the Dolomites!

Welcome to Corvara! The first day of the tour is about getting set up on your bike and getting ready for the tur ahead. Enjoy a welcome meal to ensure your body is getting fuelled for the days ahead.

Day 2

Passo Giau, Passo Falzarego, Passo Valparola, Mur Dl Giat

Take on Passo Giau and Passo Falzarego, Passo Valparola, Mur dl Giat today. The ride begins with an easy roll out of town and then up and over into Arraba. From here, the road has undulating hills until kilometre 34 where the first challenge begins. Passo Giau is 10 km in length and gains 908 m making the climb and average gradient of 9%! After a stunning descent, get ready for the next one as you take on Passo Falzarego. This climb takes you across Passo Falzarego and Valparola. It is more gentle, averaging 5.7% for 11 kilomtres. After a winding descent, there is a long stretch of road taking you down to Mur dl Giat. The challenge is not over yet, you have another 8 kilometres of a steady gradient back to your hotel.

Day 3

The Sella Ronda

Today’s ride is a showstopper & features on the bucket list of cyclists from all over the world. The Sella Ronda is a string of 4 passes starting and finishing in Corvara. Warm-up for the ride on the Passo Campolongo, descend and climb again to the Passo Pordoi. Next up is the Passo Sella & finish with the gorgeous Passo Gardena & a spectacular descent back to Corvara. Enjoy steady gradients, well surfaced roads and switchbacks constructed by the god’s of cycling.

The Sella Ronda 51 km, 1680 m

Day 4

Ride Stage 18 of the 2020 Giro From Lasa to Lake Cancano via Passo Stelvio

The day begins with a transfer to Laas. From here, ride out along the Adige river until about kilometre 10 where the climb up to Stelvio begins. The climb from this side is 25 km in length, gains 1,868 m and averages a steady 7%. Halfway up the climb you'll take on the (in)famous switchbacks taking you to the summit. From the top, descend down and end your ride in Bormio or, if your legs haven't had enough, ride out to lake Cancano and back.

Ride Stage 18 of the 2020 Giro from Lasa to Lake Cancano via Passo Stelvio 89 km, 2892 m

Day 5

Passo Mortirolo & Passo Gavia

Head South of Bormio and towards Passo Mortirolo. Today is a long day with two stage climbs. The first climb begins at kilometre 30 as you turn off from the village of Mazzo di Valtellina. The climb is 12 km in length and gains 1,305 m, averaging 10%! After the descent, there is a steady incline as you base yourself at the foot of the Passo Gavia. This climb is more gentle but nontheless demanding. From the top, it is all downhill.

Day 6

Passo Stelvio from Bormio & The Umbrail Pass

The final stage of the tour is just as mighty as the rest of the tour. Climb up to the Umbrail Pass, situated on the Swiss-Italian border. It is the highest paved road in Switzerland, and undoubtedly provides stunning views. The route takes you on a clock-wise circle back.

SCHEDULED TOURS

To book an Eat Sleep Cycle scheduled tour tour a €500 deposit is required at the time of booking, or 50% of the balance if the tour departs in 6 months (or less) time. The remaining balance is due 2 months before the trip.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR SCHEDULED TOURS

Book with confidence with our refund & cancellation timeline. Any credit on your account is valid for 24 months from the date of issue.

  • More than 90 days - No cancellation Fee
  • 61 – 90 Days 50% of Tour Price
  • 31 – 60 days 75% of Tour Price
  • 0 – 30 days 100% of Tour Price

Once one guest books a scheduled tour it is guaranteed to run. In the event that a scheduled tour does not meet a minimum group size of 4 guests we reserve the right to reduce the level of support on the trip to one Eat Sleep Cycle guide. The guide will either drive a support vehicle whilst guests ride self-guided or they will guide the group on the bike if a support vehicle is not required.


The group size will be communicated to guests 1 month before the tour departure date & we will schedule a call with each guest to discuss any changes in the delivery of the trip. Our goal is always to ensure we can deliver the best experience for every rider.


CUSTOM & PRIVATE TOURS

To book an Eat Sleep Cycle custom or private tour a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 2 months before the trip.

Once booked, custom or private tours are non-refundable but we still offer complete flexibility to move the reservation for the complete group or issue each traveller 100% credit towards future travel up until 90 days before departure. Please see the tour credit & cancellation fee timeline below. Any credit on your account is valid for 24 months from the date of issue.

BIKE HIRE TERMS & CONDITIONS

The bike is to be collected and returned by the guest at the EAT SLEEP CYCLE HUB (at Carrer del Vern 3, 17004, Girona, Spain). Unless otherwise arranged with EAT SLEEP CYCLE and confirmed in your booking.  In the case of a tour, the rental bike will be delivered to you as described in your Trip Notes.

The duration of this rental is detailed in your booking. 

The term ‘equipment’ in this contract refers to the subject matter and accessories rented on this contract.

The equipment is to be collected and returned at the EAT SLEEP CYCLE HUB in Girona located in Carrer del Vern no. 3 unless agreed otherwise and specified in your booking. The return of the equipment must be done on or before the “Rental End date and time” detailed in your booking. In the case of a tour, the rental bike will be delivered & collected as described in your Trip Notes. 

Failure of the guest to return the equipment on time will cause a fine of 10.00 € per hour/ 80.00 € per day. If the equipment is not returned, EAT SLEEP CYCLE will be able to take possession of said equipment wherever it is found, without the guest having any rights to claim for it.

The guest declares to have checked the conditions of the equipment and finds it all to be in perfect condition.

The equipment rented is to be returned by the guest to EAT SLEEP CYCLE in the same state it was given to the guest. The cost of reparations or reposition of the equipment will be charged to the guest. 

The guest must inform EAT SLEEP CYCLE of any damages of the equipment as well as its malfunction.

The guest is obligated to take good care of the equipment and take all necessary precautions to protect the bike and accessories from damage, loss or theft. Should any of the before mentioned situations take place during the rental period, the guest assumes immediately all the reparation or reposition costs incurred at the price or market price according to EAT SLEEP CYCLE.

At the end of the rental period, EAT SLEEP CYCLE will determine the conditions of the rented equipment and if necessary assess the losses or damages caused (excluding reasonable wear and tear of the equipment).

The guest is obliged to safely secure the bike indoors at all times when it is not in use. The guest should not lock the bike outdoors in a public place and should instead remain with the bike at all times.

The guest declares: to be in perfect health conditions, be able to ride a bike, to have the necessary control of the equipment rented and declares to have the necessary travel & health insurance to undertake cycling activities in Europe.

The guest who rents more than 1 bike, declares that all the riders of the bikes he/she rents: are in perfect health condition, are able to ride a bike, have the necessary control of the equipment rented and have the necessary travel & health insurance to undertake cycling activities in Europe.

In case of loss or theft or damage of the equipment the guest must immediately communicate this circumstance to EAT SLEEP CYCLE. In addition, the guest will have to compensate EAT SLEEP CYCLE for the reparation or reposition costs incurred at the cost price according to EAT SLEEP CYCLE.

The rental does not include insurance for own damages so the guest is responsible for all the damages of material or of a personal nature that he/she could suffer. 

The rental is made with the corresponding Civil Responsibility coverage insurance that covers all damages originated by the rental to third parties, people or properties. It is the responsibility of the guest and his/her companions to respect the local traffic rules and to circulate with care and respect to pedestrians and other road users.

The data provided by the guest will be used exclusively for the correct provision of the contracted service, the guest being able to request, in accordance with the law, its access, rectification, cancellation or opposition through communication by any means to EAT SLEEP CYCLE. This contract is governed by Spanish law. 

TOUR TERMS & CONDITIONS

The parties agree to this combined travel contract, which is subject to the following PARTICULAR CONDITIONS. 


TOUR NAME. As established in the Trip Notes, sent to the guest. 

DATE OF TOUR. As established in the Trip Notes, sent to the guest. 

PRICE. As established in the Trip Notes. 

PLACE OF DEPARTURE AND RETURN. As established in the Trip Notes.

PLACE, METHOD AND CALENDAR OF PAYMENT. As established in the Trip Notes

SCHEDULE. As established in the Trip Notes. 

ITINERARY AND PREVIOUS SERVICES. As established in the Trip Notes and supplemented with the documentation that will be delivered to the guest before departure in the Tour Itinerary.

ACCOMMODATIONS AND MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED, CATEGORY, CHARACTERISTICS AND SITUATION. As established in the Trip Notes. The guest expressly acknowledges being informed of this, giving his/her agreement to the categories, characteristics and situation of the hotels and means of transport that will be used in the contracted trip. Hotels may vary depending on their occupancy.

MINIMUM NUMBER OF PEOPLE. The completion of this trip requires the minimum number of people that the Trip Notes expressly indicates (if a minimum is not required, this clause is not applicable). The Agency may cancel the trip if a minimum number of people is required and this minimum is not reached. See Trip Notes for the specific conditions of your tour.

EXECUTION OF THE TOUR. The Agency is responsible for the correct execution of all travel services included in the contract (in accordance with article 161 of Bill no. RD 1/2007). The Agency shall provide adequate assistance without undue delay to the traveller in need of assistance. The Agency may invoice a reasonable surcharge for such assistance if the need of assistance has been caused intentionally or due to the negligence of the guest. Said surcharge will in no case exceed the actual costs incurred by the Agency. The guest must inform the Agency without undue delay of any lack of compliance observed during the execution of a travel service included in the contract.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR FOREIGN GUESTS. Visas, passports, fees and other necessary documentation may be required, as established in the Trip Notes.

INSURANCE

Assistance Insurance. The contracted trip includes the option to obtain travel assistance

Cancellation Insurance. The consumer declares that he/she has been informed by the Agency of the possibility of contracting an insurance, paid by the guest, which covers the costs of cancellation and to have assistance covering the cost of repatriation or transfer to the place of origin, in case of accident, illness or death as well as other eventualities.

Insurance in case of insolvency. The purpose of the insurance is to respond to the fulfillment of the obligations arising from the provision of services to the contractors of a combined trip and, especially, to the reimbursement of the funds deposited in the event of insolvency or bankruptcy of the Agency. In accordance with European, Spanish and Catalan legislation, EAT SLEEP CYCLE has contracted insurance with the following company:

CANCELLATION COSTS. Those indicated in the General Conditions will apply as established in the Trip Notes,  the applicable conditions are also detailed on the web page: (https://www.eatsleepcycle.com/about/terms-conditions/ within the section SCHEDULED TOUR CANCELLATION POLICY or CUSTOM TOUR CANCELLATION POLICY), unless the parties have agreed otherwise.

MODIFICATION OR VARIATION OF THE PROGRAM. Given the characteristics of the tour covered by this contract, the itinerary may at times need to be altered or changed in the place of destination due to unpredictable weather conditions, state of roads or access to roads or other causes and situations that make it advisable to alter the contracted travel program, either to safeguard the guests’ safety, or because of the impossibility of strictly complying with the program. 

Both the Agency and the guest in this contract recognize, understand and accept the special and unforeseen characteristics of the trip that is the subject of this contract.


CLAIMS. In case of any breach in the execution of the services, the guest is obliged to notify the Agency, in a reliable manner and as soon as possible, preferably “in situ” or in any case in the five days following the end of the trip. The limitation period for the actions will be established in Bill no. RD 1/2007 of November 16.

RESPONSIBILITY. According to general conditions and applicable legislation. The guest declares: to be in perfect health condition, be able to ride a bike, to have the necessary control of the equipment and declares to have the necessary travel & health insurance to undertake cycling activities in Europe. The guest is responsible for all the damages of material or personal nature that he/she could suffer. It is the responsibility of the guest and his/her companions to respect the local traffic rules and to circulate with care and respect to pedestrians and other users.

SPECIAL REQUESTS. Special requests that the guest has requested and that the agency accepts will be detailed in the Trip Notes. 

DATA PROTECTION. In compliance with the Bill no. 15/1999 of December 13, Protection of Personal Data, the Agency declares that the personal data provided by customers will be integrated into the management files to streamline their administrative management and accounting, and the management of tourism services of this contract. Likewise, we inform the guest that his/her data will be communicated to the providers of the contracted services to proceed with the booking of the tickets, the accommodation and means of transport, the travel insurance processing, etc. Regarding the collection and treatment of images, as established in the General Conditions published on the web (https://www.eatsleepcycle.com/about/terms-conditions/)

JURISDICTION. The contracting parties expressly submit themselves to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Girona to resolve any discrepancies or claims that may arise from the interpretation or execution of the tour contract and these general conditions, and renounce their own forum if different.

TRANSFER OF THE RESERVATION. The principal guest may freely assign the reservation of the tour to a person who meets the conditions required for it. The transfer must be communicated in writing to the Agency at least 15 days before the start of the trip.

RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PRINCIPAL GUEST. Where the principal guest signs on behalf of the others on the tour, they state that he/she and the other guest of their reservation have read and understood the contract and the prospectus.

BOOKING WITH EAT SLEEP CYCLE

We appreciate your business and want to make the booking process as simple as possible.

i) To reserve a bike full payment is required at the time of booking. For group bookings of 6 or more riders, a 50% deposit is required on booking, with the full amount due 1 month before the rental starts. Groups must make 1 group payment for the deposit, and one group payment for the full amount.

ii) To book an Eat Sleep Cycle scheduled tour a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 2 months before the trip.

iii) To book any other Eat Sleep Cycle services or bespoke packages a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 2 months before the trip.

SCHEDULED TOUR CANCELLATION POLICY

We understand that sometimes things happen in life out of your control which means you need to cancel or change your Eat Sleep Cycle Trip.

Please let us know in writing as soon as you know you need to cancel your trip.

Once booked, custom trips are fully non-refundable.

BIKE HIRE CANCELLATION POLICY

All cancellations must be received in writing or via confirmed email. No refunds are possible after the rental begins. If we are forced to cancel a rental, we will award a 100% refund.

The following explains cancellation fees for all bike rentals:

  • More than 14 days - 75% of the rental fee
  • Less than 14 days- 25% of the rental fee

BIKE HIRE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

You cannot rent an Eat Sleep Cycle bike without a signed waiver, release & consent:

I hereby declare that I and everyone using the bicycle(s) I am now renting have the necessary experience to use it/them, and that I have tested and checked its/their perfect working condition.

I will notify Eat Sleep Cycle immediately of any eventual malfunctions or breakages of the bicycle(s). I declare that the bicycle(s) will not be used improperly and that I will personally redeliver it/them to Eat Sleep Cycle.

I authorise Eat Sleep Cycle to charge me for all eventual costs in case of damages to the bicycle(s) during my rental period, comprehensive of labor.

In case of theft, I will be responsible for reimbursing Eat Sleep Cycle for the original purchase price of the bike, plus the cost of any accessories that were provided at the time of the bike rental.

I agree to not hold Eat Sleep Cycle its operators, agents, servants and employees responsible for personal injuries or property damage, loss or delay, or change of itinerary incurred by any person or renter arising out of the act of negligence of any direct or supplemental carrier, or other person rendering any of these services, nor shall Eat Sleep Cycle be responsible for any injuries, death, damage, loss or delay in any means of transportation or by reasons of any event beyond the actual control of Eat Sleep Cycle, or of any agent or supplier, or due to force majeure.

TOUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By participating in an Eat Sleep Cycle tour or guided ride you agree to the following conditions and you cannot participate in an Eat Sleep Cycle tour without a signed waiver, release & consent:

I freely acknowledge and realise the danger of participating in an Eat Sleep Cycle tour and fully assume all risk including, but not limited to, collision with pedestrian vehicles, other riders and/or other fixed moving objects of persons, the negligence of other riders and dangers arising from falls and public road or path surfaces, as well as the possibility of physical and/or mental trauma or injury.

I understand that if I leave before or after the tour starting time or travel a course different from the tour route as lead by the guide, I will not receive services as published or advertised. I further agree to pay all fees associated with my participation in all or part of the event.

I realise that Eat Sleep Cycle tours require physical exertion and I represent that I am in sound medical condition capable of participating in the bicycle ride without risk to others of myself.

I have no physical or medical impediment that would endanger others or myself.

I understand that the law defines a bicycle as a moving vehicle and I agree to follow all traffic laws, signs, rules and regulations.

I agree that I will at all times during my participation in an Eat Sleep Cycle tour adhere to all safety rules and regulations of Eat Sleep Cycle which includes wearing a helmet at all times whilst riding a bicycle.

As a responsible adult, I fully recongise that riding a bicycle on roads is inherently dangerous and that accidents can happen at any time and in any place during a tour ride. I am solely responsible for the manner in which I ride.

I will NOT use my mobile phone at any point during the tour due to the disruption it may cause to my concentration and the enjoyment of other participants.

Additionally, I understand that the use of cameras of any type is strictly limited to tour stops only.

I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors to release, indemnify and agree to hold harmless Eat Sleep Cycle, its officers, directors, representatives, employees, agents and participants of any from losses, costs, damages, claims, demands, rights and causes of action of any kind or nature including solicitor fees, and including any and all negligence claims of causes of action, which may arise and which result from illness, personal injuries, property damage, death or of any other damages or injuries, not included herein, occurring during, or as a result of, my participation in the Eat Sleep Cycle tour.

I agree that I will use good judgement, be self-reliant, and stop to request assistance if I am unsure of my ability to complete any segment of the event safely.

In the event on any injury or accident, I agree to notify the tour leader, and consent to and permit emergency medical treatment.

I grant permission to the tour organiser to take (or cause others to take) photographs and videos of me during the tour, and to use the same for any purpose including but not limited to promoting, advertising and marketing. I acknowledge and agree that any such photographs and videos shall be the sole property of the organiser and its assigns.

I understand that severe weather or other conditions out of control of the tour organisers may cause the tour to be cancelled. In these cases, I understand that all costs I have incurred to attend the tour are not refundable.

I agree to this freely and voluntarily without any inducement, assurance or guarantee being made to me and I intend this submission to be a complete and unconditional release of released parties to the greatest extent allowed by law.

I agree that this complete waiver, release and consent is binding on my heirs, proxies, representatives & ensigns.

Minors: If you are under 18 years old your parent or guardian must agree to the above conditions before the entrant may participate in any Eat Sleep Cycle tour or event.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel Insurance is not included in any Eat Sleep Cycle services. Travel Insurance is the sole responsibility of the client and must be purchased in advance of your holiday through your own provider.
